Amazing stuff, seeing tangible results inspires me to improve further. Looks like I’ll be having some fun with my new Muse. Thanks Cody!
Thanks! Hope your experimenting goes well :)
What a great channel!! Have my muse on the way and your content is to blame. Thanks for these tutorials!
Haha I will accept the blame. Thanks Brad.
Hi Cody,
Thanks for the great video demo. So appreciate you going deeper into this and how people can practice in different ranges using Muse.
In response to some questions below, in my demo, I was using a Muse 1, which I've found to be most reliable and accurate of all the Muse headbands, especially in the gamma range (taking into account that it has some issues with reading the higher gamma range).
Wonderful work as always, Cody!
Kevin
Thanks for the blessings and thanks for tending to some one the questions on the comments :)
So glad you have created this channel and are reporting on this. You are the reason I purchased my Muse! This tech is definitely not going away.
Thanks for the support David!!! I'm glad you are getting value out of the videos :)
Same here! ^^
Great video, thanks for sharing that.
An observation, the straight yellow/red line towards the right end of the spectrum (56hz) could be an interference of the standard 50hz power grid distribution, these waves float in the air almost everywhere.
Great video Cody!
Thanks Jeremy!
Looking forward to seeing you do this with assist devices like the NeoRhythm.
con estos videos me vuela la cabeza, se podrían hacer competiciones de meditar. gracias doctor por toda la info que aportas.
Meditation competitions is a crazy idea😂
wow very interesting to have real time feedback.
Yes for sure!
Great video , Thank you
Thanks Titus!
Cody, can you talk about the muse monitor settings? The graph you show goes from levels -1.0 to 2.0, however, when i use the website to load data, it is 0 to 100. Can you touch on how to read the graphs and or what settings are displayed? Thanks, love the channel!✌🏼
Great video. I'm looking for the one which monitor brainwaves with notification sound. Does anyone know?
Thank you so much for the information. I bought the app and it’s amazing how it allows you see gama red waves appear from green and blue right during moments of joy. Has anyone noticed? Gamma thinking is the frequency for joyous thinking.
where can i buy the app?
Hey Cody, what an awesome channel this is. Everything I'm passionate about but coming from an actual Dr. :) I have the Muse 1....have been thinking about the Muse S. I just bought Mind Monitor after watching some of your videos. Would you say the Muse 1 is still worthwhile to use for these mapping projects of yours? I've wanted to do mind mapping for 20+ years, my dream would be having access to an fMRI to try and quantify the results of various things. Do you see a day where an fMRI is more openly used for things like depression/anxiety/adhd/ocd etc?
Hi Timothy! Thanks for the support! Yes I think Muse 1 is still worthwhile for sure. Did you see the livestream from Kernel last week?????!!!!!! We are not going to need fMRI. It can be done through near infrared. Current device is $5K for research but cost will be coming down quickly. And they are in communication with people who want to develop wearables from the tech. Mental healthcare is going to be completely transformed by this in my opinion. It's coming quickly. Bloodflow tracking for now but people are working on anatomical scans too

I need to learn how to be that guy raising those waves and i'll cure my Visual Snow Syndrome for sure. Superb mental control. BTW: Are you sure the Delta-Theta is muscle tension? Then i'm tensed as hell cause i get red all the time bellow the 8 hz. Red-Yellow like non stop.
Hey Cody, as always great stuff!
Any thoughts on Plato Works tDCS device. I currently have Emotiv insight and epoch, neorythm, muse 1 and 2. I'm most intrigued by neorythm as it is easy to use and seems to have a near-immediate effect.
Thanks
Whoa you've got a good collection going there! I'll have to take a look at the Plato Works tDCS. People keep asking me about it. What specifically do you want to know? Thanks!
When you say there is greater activity in the “cortex“ which cortex? Presumably judging by the position it is the pre-frontal cortex but is that the only thing that is measuring? Don’t have one yet trying to decide!
Cody, your channel is awesome!
I just have one question, how can I test my new muse s to see if its accurate? Because now it feels like some random noise!
Thanks! Maybe try eyes open vs closed like I explain in the Muse Meditation Mastery?
How do you "raise up" the energy levels?
Question: Was this only having to do with the frontal lobe when you were measuring your brainwaves around 5.5 minutes in?
Can you connect 1 muse to both the muse app and mind control at the same time on 1 phone? Not having luck. Will the muse connect to two different devices? So muse app on a phone at the same time as mind control on another device?
Question? By frowning or raising your eyebrows, the entire wave is affected. How can we know that those ref waves appearing all the way aren’t a result of body movement. A notice that depending on how a move my eye brow area and skull, these waves are automatically impacted.
So with that, it’s hard to know.
For example when eating. How can I know that those waves aren’t changing because of musculature
what app did you used? is it the Muse app?
If you still have the muse s could you please do a video with the heat map vs the muse in this video so I can get A feel for how im doing. I purchased the muse s and the heat map looks quite different so I'm wondering if my practice is that novice or is it possibly the different headbands. Perhaps you can tell us a loose benchmark to shoot for
Thank you for all you do.
Thanks! Yes I still use Muse S regularly, I'll take a look at the heatmap
update: I just found your UA-cam channel at 13.30 LST 41 min ago. My location is Germany.
And Daz Smith a highly talented remote viewer had you in his playlist. Dear Cody I would like to see, if there is a serious possibility for you to bring remote viewing in the context of neuroscience.
Ah yes interesting! I'll look into it
Dr. Cody, even the slightest of muscle movements makes the red show up on the right hand side of that spectrogram. I tried frowning just a little bit, so little that others can't even tell i am frowning, and it was all red. I am not saying Kevin was, but just for all of us when we try this at home, any guidance on how we should separate the signal (EEG) from the noise (EMG)?
Even if you don't do any muscle movement consciously, meditation produces pressure in forehead which induce slight movements in forehead skin and also ears which show up as red according to my experience
Hey where can we get a strap like that for the muse 2? i’d like mine to fit better. thank you!
Hi Wendel, the easiest way is probably to just order a draw string cord off Amazon www.amazon.com/YaHoGa-Drawstring-Shoelaces-Clothing-Backpack/dp/B07H1YZZRQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2H4W45FHIFT74&keywords=draw%2Bcord&qid=1655158001&sprefix=draw%2Bcord%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-5&th=1
could you do a play by play on what exactly you are doing ?
Okay I'll try and slow it down next time
Hi Cody- was he wearing a Muse?
Why is it good to have high beta in this case ?
hi cody , do you have any experience with lucid dreaming devices ? i would love to see a real review of this devices and whether or not they enrich your dreams , also what techniques does he use ?
I've been contacted by some people who want to do that. Still on the fence about making it a more common theme on the channel. Thanks for the comment!
crazy
How do I see this? Is it on the app? The tracking gamma?
Yes, check the settings and toggle between view windows
I’m so confused. I got a muse S today. Downloaded the ap and it seems the only thing the app is good for is selling meditations. Where is this heat map? I can’t seem to find a video beyond unboxing and connecting/using this thing.
The app shown in Cody Rall's video is Mind Monitor, not the official Muse app. I guess this is the problem. Personally, I am starting as well, and I've already seen benefits in using the meditations proposed by the official Muse app, but I guess the real results will come over the years.
Simone is right, this video is talking about a 3rd party app called Mind Monitor that you can get on the app store or visit the website mind-monitor.com/
What does it mean to have a constant perfect red line at 56hz that doesn't change?
Also I am under influence of voice to skull or eeg cloning. Im assuming its representative of the optic nerve...which is also the primary connection point or biofingerprint that they are dialed into?
How to download this heat thing and show your gamma waves?
It's one of the options on Mind Monitor App mind-monitor.com/
How does one raise energy levels and what 'energy'?
The human body can be viewed/experienced as a bioenergetic information system. You can learn to tune into the energy centers, pathways, and field of the body and the larger Field within which your energy field exists. Through concentration on the energy centers and larger field, the energy levels rise in a way that is palpable. You can feel it. This has benefits for health and brain function as well as giving a sense of connection within the body and with the larger energy Field within which we exist.
what are some resources to learn to do this?
Does Muse S has better accuracy compared to old muse devices ?
not in my experience, I sent mine back
palabra17 ua-cam.com/video/4rQmXCveO1k/v-deo.html it says accuracy is better than muse 2. So was wondering if anyone else has same experience.
Kiefer O'Sullivan has done some ground-level work with both and says Muse S certainly passed the test.
Cody Rall MD with Techforpsych thanks Cody for your reply ! I remember in one of the interview he was expressing doubts about silicon based electrodes on muse S.
Kevin has also UA-cam Channel?
What's happening with your eyes when you "rise" your energy?
Do I have to rise them up like you and the master meditator?
If you're talking about the technique of focusing above the crown, it's not a matter of raising the eyes, it is raising the focal point of awareness. This can be done with or without raising the eyes. When the higher frequencies are felt up there, it tends to raise gamma waves. We've found that gamma waves can also raise by feeling love expanding outward from the heart or by sensing Infinite Spacious Awareness.
@@RaisingOurVibration
Rising the eyes feels a bit uncomfortable but it produced the effect in the app.
Thanks for that video. This technique saves me years of practice.
Yes they say to raise your eyes but it's more where you put your attention mentally, not physically. Moving your eyes while using the Muse will produce muscle contraction artifacts, so I tried my best not to move anything and instead direct my attention only within my mind.
Yes it's highly likely to produce EMG as your eyes will follow your focus point.
The chance to produce a faulty graph especially if your not a master meditator is very high with this technique.
You tried not to move your eyes and it is clearly visible in the video.
Even the master meditator moves his entire head with the eyes upward.
I am not criticising the technique but the measurement with muse and conclusion are drawn from that test.
@@sevenelven2144 Hi Sven, You are mistaking the effect of head raising slightly for the cause. The head rising slightly is not the cause, but a result of elevated energy. The elevation of energy is a very palpable feeling that comes from practicing subtle energy meditation. This does have powerful positive effects in the body and the brain, but these effects are the result of the energy flow. Gamma waves are one of these effects, as well. And, when you feel this, it is unmistakable. It is like the body and mind are lit up with energy.
If ingo swann were still alive, he would immediately make at least 19,000 tests a year with these devices!
Interesting! I'll look more into him
I don't think Muse is accurate enough to read raw brainwaves, that's why professionals use more expensive headbands... Isn't it?
