I love my Kobalt Pole Chainsaw - 80-volt - 5-AH battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Chainsaw. No electric cord. I've been using Oregon Bars and Chains. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees throughout the woods of our 18-acre farm. I carry it all over in our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and using (2) 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The chainsaw first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. We have cut 20"+_ logs and works like a charm. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw.
Have you had a chance to do a video on how to maintain an Ego battery to get the most out of it as it ages? Have had mine for about 2 years (and use it regularly) and it seems to hold a lesser charge and it seems to have less peak power. I am wondering if there is "conditioning" procedure to erase charge memory.
Funny you ask that - I'm actually working on a video where I double the Amp hours of an EGO battery - should release soon. The cells they use are good - either LG or Samsung but like everything they do have a lifespan. What size do you have?
Nice saw! I "saw" someone using one just recently and axed him if he would saw some of my tree limbs which he did with ease and they were pretty high up there. Loved the video and the music too!
I just purchased this for work and it's perfect except for 1 thing and that's the chain tensioner. It's quite chinzy and I have a gut feeling it's going to be a problem. It loosens every run
@@Kitearmy yea. we have the 40v max edger, trimmer, mower and blower, just need the chainsaw or pole saw. or better yet both. i love their stuff. anytime we got their stuff shipped i always got to assemble it and give a first test run.
What is the total length of this pole saw, fully extended, tip of the blade to the other end? When Ego says "16 feet reach" are they including the height of the human operator?
Thank you for the video. I got the weed eater and it did great. The link above at EGO, the pole saw, is out of stock. I found one on amazon but not sure if it is the same. Can you drop the link so I know I am on the right page. Thanks
@@Kitearmy yes I use the extension pole and still find the multi tool system far better has most of the weight is in the bottom of the machine, I had both systems and decided to keep the muit tool system because of the weight and balance....
So this pole saw tool only is not compatible with older multi tool system and you must buy the whole new system? I hope older tool only pole saw goes on clearance so I can buy it.
good saw if you don't pinch the chain. And if chain comes off it loses effectiveness. get new chains and bar. if chain comes on put on a new bar and new chain
Thanks
Sure thing!
I have the power head saw with an extension shaft. That one works great. I will have to figure out why I 'need' this one. Thanks for the video Andrew.
I always go with the justification "you know what this would cost to have someone do it for us?"
Pretty sweet.
Yes sir
I just have the typical pole saw attachment head for their multi-tool system drive, thing is awesome for a battery saw

I can't wait. I was going to buy the previous commercial model but I think this is worth waiting for.
Def worth the wait
@@Kitearmy The newest commercial model will be even better
@@drjdup True - I have never tested any commercial stuff
This is the Goldilocks saw. Will sell my sister's first born to get it this coming Spring. 🎀💯🎀
hahahahahh
Looking forward to getting one and seeing what other tools come out to fit it
It will be interesting to see if they make other tools for this?????
@@Kitearmy I wanting the snow shovel but wonder if it’s worth waiting to see if they make one for this setup.
@@williamboughton3498 I wonder if having the motor in the head of the saw would create any problems?
My 8' ladder would do the trick, but this saw looks more fun!
Always go for the FUN!
Man that looks great! I hope Santa shops EGO this year. ☺️
Wish list...EGO EGO EGO EGO EGO
This looks awesome Andrew! Thanks for the video. On another note, I also can’t wait for the new 400 watt inverter. Hopefully it will come out soon.
I agree -that 400w will be perfect. I don't have one yet 😮💨
WOW! Great video.
Thanks so much roo :)

@@Kitearmy 2.5AH (came with leaf blower)

@@goodmanshealth Well I could only saw half of them because of the fence.

@@goodmanshealth My son has tried to take it down with his bow and arrow
After each use do you have to empty oiler reservoir, to avoid oil leaking out?

Dang really? I thought the multi head version had the bad head.
@Kite Army kobalt has a new pole saw out now too
Cool - I believe EGO makes of the Kobalt OPE

Looks great but I’ll likely just get the multi head attachment pole saw since I already have the head.
Right - I'm wondering if they will start making attachments for this
So what is the break down length? I.e - will it fit in my toolbox without having to have a designated polesaw box on vehicle?
I thought this model was a bit expensive until I saw they had a commercial version.😅

Will update today
Exactly the same problem as the previous model, the weight is in the head which makes it heavy using it extended.....
I did not have any issue at all with the weight
@@Kitearmy definitely had a big problem with the last design, bought the muit tool system to replace it, so much better when extended......

It's a dedicated tool and uses a different design so it's not compatible with any multi-tool system.
