In honesty, this is the best Fuck You Music Industry song ever written. It calls out the idiots who claims old music is dead and new music is better which is honestly false, most new music sucks and lacks uniqueness unless you dig deep enough through the muck and filth, whereas old music has almost always been remembered and loved

What I love about All Out Life is that it got me into Slipknot. WWE chose to use it from 2018-2020 as the theme of their show NXT and then they followed it up with Unsainted being the theme of a PPV. If it weren't for that, wouldn't be the maggot I am. Never looking back, never regretting it.

According to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, "All Out Life" was written as a rallying cry for everyone about all of us getting together and saying, 'You know what. Let's not talk about old. Let's not talk about new. Let's talk about what is. Let's talk about what's good, what's real, and get behind that and start embracing things that matter because there's history there and not just because it's the next best thing. Taylor also provided the following additional background to the composition of the song:
"All Out Life" is a song that is trying to do two things: bring everyone together, but also remind everyone that the past is not something to be discarded with disdain. People are so eager to find the next big thing sometimes that they shit all over the bands and artists that have come before, thus making the past feel disposable, like a dirty thing. Fuck that: Why should we pay attention to your mediocre future when you can't be bothered to celebrate an amazing past? I'd rather listen to a guaranteed hit than a forced miss. "All Out Life" is the anthem that reminds people that it's not the date on the music - it's the staying power

This was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band, and was released as a stand alone single. I feel like that may be why some people don't like this song all that much, it's not on an album so it's just kinda "floating out there". Meaning unless you stick this in a playlist, you're not going to hear this one a lot. Familiarity breeds fondness. I remember when this song first came out, and we found out it was NOT going to be on the record there was quite a fuss. So I get the feeling those that have it out for this song are just trying to play it off.
This song is where We Are Not Your Kind got it's namesake from though, you didn't point that out which surprised me

Corey saying that this song didnt make to the album cuz it was like a hype song for the new album wanyk but others saying whice is more make sense that its just because the whole lawsuit that they had with chris during that time so they couldn't add it to the album cuz chris is in the mix of that song

I love this one too! I'm also not sure why it doesn't get a lot of love, but it's probably the commercial aspect. I don't particularly care about that as long as it sounds good, which it does. The only thing that pissed me off about the song was that it wasn't on the album!

The dislike of this song is probably due to Gatekeeping by fans who can't get past their early sound. I'm glad you are feeling your chipper self. Listening to Slipknot while having my morning coffee really makes for a better day. :)
I've always loved All Out Life. I would have put this on the album if it were my choice.
I think it took awhile to get voted because this is their best album since Iowa. Not that the others are bad, but WANYK was definitely a step up.

Was supposed to be the last song on the album.
I honestly like this song better than anything on the new album, Nero Forte being the only one that's even close.
People who hate the song are mostly "s/t Iowa elitists" as I call them. There’s also hate because there was promotion for the song and that it’s apparently "tryhard like Custer".
Damn! Great reaction as usual. But I have to ask. Have you been to a show yet? If not you need to go. You’d love it. Check out their dates and locations. They’re on the road now. Spend like 50-100$ and get it out your system. You won’t regret it. And their set list this tour is amazing.

"New does not mean best" it's supposed to symbolize today's trend and how everybody wants to be that.
"Old does not mean dead" people are forgetting metal as a genre and thinking that it's old and think that it's basically just a dead genre. Corey is just saying that it's not dead.
I loved the song was just disappointed it wasn't on the album, it did win the poll, and I to buy physical whenever possible.

I was VERY upset that this wasn't on the album (We Are Not Your Kind). It even has a chant for the album name. Sucks there had to be a legal issue with Chris I think. This would have been my favourite track on the album (I heard it was on the Japanese release). 🤘🤘 Orphan was my favourite on the newest album.
Not sure why this song didn't make it on the album, from what I heard it had to do Chris leaving the band and his lawsuit against Slipknot
and thats why i hate chris, not because he was a member of the band i didnt appreciate, but because he sued for the dumbest reason when he left (i could rant about for hours, jst let me know if you want to hear what I think about it :) )

@@melvinandrade2682 I am back. From what I saw from researching, Chris sued because "Corey was withholding payments"(not paying the members). From what I could tell, he was accusing only accusing Corey, and also from what I could, non of the band members had encountered the same problem. I think that chris just got mad that corey was making more money than he was, and corey was making more beacuse he is in 2 bands (Stone Sour and Slipknot) (If any of it is wrong, or you disagree, feel free to let me know :) )

I think the commercial aspect you mentioned is why a lot of fans don’t like this song. I believe it’s also why among the majority of the fan base AHIG is the least liked album. That said while neither this song or that album are among my absolute favorites I don’t hate them.
the reason it wasnt on the album is cause it didnt really fit in with the others. this is just a fuck you to people who doubt you i guess whereas WANYK was really just about coreys depression and his hate for his ex-wife.
