  • Ben Sollee is proof that, as he says, a cello is not just an instrument; it's a cultural touchstone. As he and drummer Jordan Ellis play unplugged, he introduces an inspired, new musical style and tells stories of his journey touring by bicycle. He's also joined by violinist Zach Dellinger and Monarch School graduate Cynthia Valenzuela on vocals in an impromptu collaborative piece.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

He opened for Over The Rhine in Cincinnati during Christmas. We got to the concert late and were VERY disappointed at ourselves for having done so. He was amazing and we wished we would have gotten there in time to catch his entire opening act!

Just bought tickets to see him in Charlotte in a venue that seats about 300. Love over the Rhine, too!

We Frankfort folks here in Ky. are very proud of these gentlemen! They are truly lighting the way down a new path of music that has many influences while being completely new!

I have never said this about a stranger or a musician before but I literally want to marry this guy. It was the bicycle that got me to think that in the end.
