I have a terrible headache, but you have made my day!!! Your personality is sooooo wonderful, and both you and Tanya are my pick for all paintings and videos!!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place and how you paint. This world needs more of you guys!!!!!!
Hi Mary, Glad your day got better! Having a headache is a terrible thing, just keep positive and it will help that. Thank you for your kind words, and I’m glad you like our channel so much! Lots more videos to come now that the weather is getting better. Thanks for watching Best wishes, James and Tanya
Hi Lena, Glad you enjoyed the video. I do like to get out into the countryside. I enjoy doing this type of video, where you can see the countryside. I’ll be doing lots more outdoor videos this year and I hope you enjoy them as much Best wishes, James
Hi Marie, Glad you enjoyed the painting. It really was a freezing day and my feet were completely frozen by the end of the painting. Very pleased I stuck it out though. Hope your painting is going well. Best wishes, James
Great camera work. Superb artwork. This film/ this video & All the fragments and images of the area (clothes hanging in the air) And all the brickwork are Excellent. & very good editing.
Thank you very much. We couldn’t resist filming the washing line, it looked so amazing Tanya does most of the filming and editing and i’ll pass your compliments to her. Thanks, James
Really enjoying your video adventures and getting a tour of the countryside. Love the painting demonstrations. I’ve always avoided plein air watercolor, but I feel better prepared now to try again. I usually resort to do oils.
Hi Erik, Glad you enjoyed the adventures with painting. It’s good that you’re going to give Water a go again. It has the benefit over oil painting, because it’s easier to set up and transport, a much more simple affair. I will be doing more oil paintings outdoors as I have an exhibition coming up. I hope you enjoy them. Best wishes, James
Hi Ian. Really glad you enjoyed it. It’s a great idea doing oils as well as watercolours as I’ve always found it makes me a better artist doing both. Thanks James
Another great video James and Tanya! We have loved watching all of your videos, the end result of this one is particularly special! Really brilliant camera work as well :) Wishing all the best from Australia, Harry and Emma
G’day Harry and Emma!! Glad you’re enjoying watching our channel from afar; a little reminder of the UK for you, along with the cold weather 😊 Hope everything is going well for you both. James and Tanya xx
Hi Carol. Great to hear from you! It’s a lovely place. Robert Louis Stevenson used to visit North Berwick on holiday and when he looked out on the islands in the Firth of Forth they inspired him to write Treasure Island. 🏝️ Best wishes James
Turned out very nicely Sir. Although plen air painting is amazing in itself it must be even better to share the experience with your wife or anyone we are close to. Kudos.
Hi Michal, thanks for your message. Painting outside is great. I’m glad you’re enjoying it yourself. I will reply to your email . I’m very busy over the next few days. In the meantime I’ve subscribed to your channel. Thanks James
It was great to be there! We do have a butane heater, but it keeps on turning off in really cold weather. We need to change to propane gas as it works in much lower temperatures. We sleep in thermals and a thick duvet. Most importantly though, I have a Tanya next to me😊 Thanks James

Hi,
Glad you found it interesting, it was a wonderful scene to paint but very cold. However, probably not as cold as where you’re from.
Thanks, James.

Lovely North Berwick. Do you have a heater in the van ? What do you wear to sleep in ?
