      Hi Marie,
Glad you enjoyed the painting. It really was a freezing day and my feet were completely frozen by the end of the painting. Very pleased I stuck it out though.
Hope your painting is going well.
      Best wishes, James

      Hi,
Glad you found it interesting, it was a wonderful scene to paint but very cold. However, probably not as cold as where you’re from.
      Thanks, James.

Really enjoying your video adventures and getting a tour of the countryside. Love the painting demonstrations. I’ve always avoided plein air watercolor, but I feel better prepared now to try again. I usually resort to do oils.

      Hi Erik,
Glad you enjoyed the adventures with painting. It’s good that you’re going to give Water a go again. It has the benefit over oil painting, because it’s easier to set up and transport, a much more simple affair.
I will be doing more oil paintings outdoors as I have an exhibition coming up. I hope you enjoy them.
      Best wishes, James

Hi Ian. Really glad you enjoyed it. It’s a great idea doing oils as well as watercolours as I’ve always found it makes me a better artist doing both. Thanks James

It was great to be there. Very very cold, there was a great sense of relief finishing it, to get back to the van. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Carol. Great to hear from you! It’s a lovely place. Robert Louis Stevenson used to visit North Berwick on holiday and when he looked out on the islands in the Firth of Forth they inspired him to write Treasure Island. 🏝️

Turned out very nicely Sir. Although plen air painting is amazing in itself it must be even better to share the experience with your wife or anyone we are close to. Kudos.

Lovely North Berwick. Do you have a heater in the van ? What do you wear to sleep in ?

    • @JamesPotterAboutArt
      @JamesPotterAboutArt  11 місяців тому +1

It was great to be there! We do have a butane heater, but it keeps on turning off in really cold weather. We need to change to propane gas as it works in much lower temperatures. We sleep in thermals and a thick duvet. Most importantly though, I have a Tanya next to me😊
      Thanks James
