Think about: in Germany, most radio stations play 90% English music or even more. So we are used to listen to music we don't completely understand. It takes a few years at school until you vaguely know the meaning of the lyrics, and even as an adult, you don't translate all the time. Still enjoy and love all that stuff by just listening.
Same. We love plenty of music in native non-English languages. It was a minor comment for this kind of poppy / simple composition. We still enjoy the song.

As an English speaker in Germany
the music radio channels
irritate me as I want to hear German
to improve my German
especially the vocabulary of things
that aren't in the textbook.
I did a little translation for the german (Mainly Finch's) parts of that song - hope you like it. :)

As for the German part: I agree it's a bit confusing and might derail focus for non-German speaking audience, they should have put some subtitles. However, I think that German rap was perfect here: it is really special and sounds waaay different than typical English rap, I really appreciate that choice (yes, it's easier for me since I've learned German).
Could you do reactions to their other hits, like "Pump It", "We Got the Moves" or "Hypa Hypa"? 😊

I'm English and I love that they've added German lyrics! I do understand some German, so maybe that helps 🤷. I find it's a good way of learning a bit more 😁. My son also thinks it's a great song as it is, he's not put off by words he doesn't understand 😊

I did have to pull up the lyrics
to understand the German
and to confirm some of the stuff
I did hear dry stone walling in the lyrics LOL
In the video I loved the minor thing
like the rear view mirror

car deodoriser hanging down.
There were things that appear for
fleeting seconds that evidently were painstakingly made

I figured as they come from the Ruhr
I wondered which spoil heap or quarry
they did the band shots in
and I heard a wonderful comment
to the effect there have been
men have gone into space
men have gone to the Moon
but they went to Bottrop
(another town in the Ruhr
which is Germany's rustbelt)
Having that amount of German lyrics (and without captions), while being well aware of the YT reaction scene being 95.9% non German speakers is probably their way of trying to regain their status of "We don't care what anyone thinks" which they partly lost with the name change.
That's a solid take.
Well that was an interesting video. Again, I value the pro analysis here. I'm not so sure they are on Mars. I spotted two suns at 1:08. Definitely has a nice waza-esque tone on the guitars. Fun song, fun video, good music!

I guess if they would have put english subtitles in the video everyone could have seen, that the lyrics are wildly nonsensical. The whole song ist based around that catchy chorus without a lot of lyrics to back that up. :)

I know I am late to the party but I have been enjoying your videos and thought I'd jump in your comments section. Basically every single verse in this song contains a reference to some space-related pop culture item (movies, songs, comedy sketches etc.) Tank the Tech and his followers dissected the entire song in one of his Twitch streams if you want to check it out. That's probably the reason why the lyrics are in German - I mean, my English is decent, but I couldn't have done that in English, either :)

To be honest I get what you’re saying about the lyrics being in German, but I think theses guys get a lot of influence from 90’s dance and that was a big thing in Europe at the time and it wasn’t that weird that some lyrics wouldn’t be in English so I think it’s just the case that it feels more normal for the uk and Europe because we’ve had that type of thing already

The thing is that the german lyrics are pureley memes and references to german culture, conspiracy theories, liver sausage and other crazy stuff. It doesn't make a lot of sense so you don't really miss a lot :D
This gives me Rammstein - Amerika vibes. Right down to the spacey video and the German verse/English chorus dynamic.

Please electric callboy we got the moves as well. Because there is a moment i find absolutly awesome but no one ever mentions that one part in the reaction videos ive seen. I want to see if you guys will comment to it or skip it as well.
