- Made this video while waiting for The Many Saints of Newark to come out on October 1st; something special for people who like both The Sopranos and the Grand Theft Auto games. It's a little on the short side but maybe I'll do an in-depth video next time.

What about Toni Cipriani himself? His whole character is based on Tony Soprano. Similar sounding names, strained relations with his mom, weight problem (in III), a complete sociopath etc.
GTA LCS is more based on The Godfather part 3 with a hint of Sopranos.
When Tony visits uncle Jun every once in a while in the show always reminds me of LCS cutscenes of Toni doing Salvatore missions.
I think Michael from GTA 5 is more inspired from Tony than Toni

Toni is also probably the one most likely to have taken over once Salvatore died so that's another perspective.

In GTA IV it is revealed that Anthony Corrado is working for the FBI and wearing a wire, and then he dies right after that, the exact same thing that happened to Eugene Pontecorvo in The Sopranos, and both were played by Robert Furano
Also in GTA LCS, Uncle Leone, tried to kill Salvatore, just like Uncle Junior wanted to whack Tony in season 1.
This literally proves that Rockstar Games were directly inspired by The Sopranos when they revamped the game mechanics and style back in 2001.

But both have an accent, both have their homecountry mentality, both are the silent type of person, both do their job and they both know that the DiMeo & Pegorino family are a joke to the Italian Mafia & LC families

Both also have a sweetness to them when they're around certain people not directly involved in crime, at least from what I've seen. Furio to Carmela, or defending Ginny Sack's weight- and Niko talking to Faustin's wife, or some of the strangers around the city.

well they got Robbert Loggia in GTA 3 first then a few years later in The Sopranos

Same goes for Frank Vincent, he got to play Salvatore first in GTA 3, before Phil Leotardo. Phil was still eating grilled cheese off a radiator in 2001.

They hired Robert Loggia because he played Frank Lopez in Scarface. Same for Frank Vincent and Ray Liotta from Goodfellas.

3:18 I know both Cipriani and Soprano are already last names, but interesting how if you replace every I in Cipriani with an O, you get "Coproano," and pronouncing the C like an S gets you "Soproano." Intentional choice by Rockstar to use Cipriani or just a coincidence.

Thank you for compiling all this together! I recognized a ton of the cast throughout playing the gta games but I never knew it was this many of them wow.
You forgot Chris Tardio who plays and voices Sean Gismonte and Mickey/Sindacco member in The Sopranos and GTA LCS respectively. And Brian Tarantina who plays Angus in GTA TLAD and Mustang Sally in The Sopranos.
Some robberies and plots in Sopranos does resemble a GTA mission in some form or way

GTA V main character, Michael Townley, is directly named after the henchman/hired killer for Henry Kissinger.
He even has the same facial features to an extent.
In turn, the real person's actions are featured in the plot of the Scarface reboot during a depiction of a historical event - specifically the car bombing.
Scarface, of course, had influenced GTA: Vice City with all the Hawaiian shirts, chainsaws, cocaine, and helicopter aesthetics of 80's Miami.
To sum the two's history up, Michael Townley had served a couple of years for crimes that would leave him in prison forever.
Henry Kissinger famously received the Nobel Prize for Peace, instead of the nominated organization of pacifist nuns -
they were drugged, killed off, and dropped off helicopters in the ocean by the shores of countries his tactics influenced.
Moreover, the trailer for GTA VI was published not a moment sooner than the day after Henry Kissinger had died.
