There have long been reports of US special forces top secret missions inside Africa. For decades their actions have gone largely unreported but enough details have now been declassified for us to start to build a better picture. These missions have become a major part of American culture with movies like Black Hawk Down and 13 hours as well as missions in the game Call of Duty. This video is going to be in the iceberg format - the way that works is in the beginning we’ll cover the most common surface level stories and then as we go along we’ll get into increasingly more obscure and unknown American Special Forces missions in Africa.

First I want to set the scene that will give us the context for these 7 top secret missions. In 2019, an investigative report from the Mail & Guardian revealed that US operators were on active deployments in 22 separate African nations as seen here depicted on this map. The purpose of these deployments ranged from your casual normie joint training to your hardcore direct action combat. The investigation revealed Over 14% of special forces soldiers across all branches of the US military, were deployed to Africa in 2019, which is the most of any region of the world besides the Middle East.

I read a comment that some of your viewers listen in as if it's a podcast.
That's a great idea, have a podcast with veterans, politicians, Law enforcement, etc
You are looking for suggestions about the war in Ukraine from a "different" perspective? Perhaps with some "step back" from the front line?
Well here's another trip to Eastern Europe for you which will be safe and will tell a lot:
Come and talk to that very edge of NATO! There is a lot happening with the Boys and Girls at the border between Poland and Bielorusia / Ukraine. And Nope, they aren't always soldiers.
3 ways you could get a ton of content:
1) Talk to the Police Forces in Poland who have been required to do weekend patrols every few weeks at the borders since 2022. Any Police Dept in Poland will answer these questions because they ALL had to provide people.. You will hear horror stories I will not share here.
2) Go do an interview with a company like Helikon-Tex. They will provide you with stories.
3) And for fun, go sit at the Rzeszów pizzeria close to the airport for one day. And talk to the people. You'll hear about the daily NATO stuff even my friends in private transport cies aren't allowed to talk about...;-)
Gloire et patrie!
You are an willfully ignorant a******:
Get off your sorry ass and buy a Collegiate Webster's dictionary; then use it s*******!!!
The dictionary will give you a phonetic rendering of every word you will use in your videos!!
Example: the city in Uganda to which you referred is pronounced N-Tehb-E, NOT N-Tah-Bay.
Please pull your head out of your ass, get with the freaking program, and stop acting like a complete willfully ignorant dumbass!
I graduated high school with a Low C- GPA (2.23), so my condemnation of your willful ignorance does not arise from some President's list, A+ 4.0 GPA smug prick's point of view!
All I'm asking for is basic frigging competence!!
Every time you willfully mispronounced something that is easily understood by a simple reference in a dictionary makes you look like a dumbass, somebody who is not a professional, someone who is not serious about the work he is doing!!
Step up and do the work, or find something else to make a living at doing: you're just simply an embarrassment at your current work ethic.

@@alexistexas4051 he went to the kursk frontline, for maximum reporting for us!
I was part of a detachment that directly responded to the incident you covered that happened in Kenya.
1: The air base you showed is not the one that was hit. The place that was attacked was much smaller and a couple km either north or south of the map you showed.
2: The Army SPC that died was killed when his unarmored SUV was directly hit by an RPG. He never fired a single shot and died in the vehicle.
3: The MARSOC dudes that responded didn’t get there for about an hour. The base they were located at was a couple miles away from the airfield.
4: The entire disaster is the sole fault of the Air Force and the incompetence of the Air Force Security Forces. The Air force people there literally abandoned their defensive positions, leaving crew served machine guns behind while they ran and hid behind a Kenyan checkpoint a mile away. Had they even tried to fight back the two pilots would still be alive.
Thanks for the details on the battle , I greatly appreciate it. That’s concerning to hear about the AF security forces but honestly not surprising. They’re the butt if a lot of jokes , for good reason it sounds like
SecFo needs to stick to gate guard it sounds like, even everyone in the Air Force thinks SF is a bunch of tools
I got to MB right afterwards and from what I heard from the dudes over in the compound as well as a few of the contractors that’s exactly what happened. Utter failure from the top down on the AF side.
I went to MBK a year after the attacks. Got to chat with the contractors that were there during the attacks and heard similar stories. They’ve made a lot of changes since then to mitigate future attacks like the base layout and other security measures.

Glad to see Africa getting some coverage. While being slightly overshadowed by the stuff going on in the Middle East, the US and the French especially have been active in Africa for a while. 💯
As someone who grew up there and also served in the US military. I promised you we are both the arson and the firefighter out there. lol

And then they complain about african immigrants.
The fact the dude who planned the Bengazi attack only got 28 years is insane
Biggest shock to me so far. 28 years…
On the other hand those short 28 years are bound to be an enriching experience.
Whats even crazier to me was that initially it was only 22 years and after 7 years on Sept of this year that they decided to add an additional 6 years...
Hillary got zero years…..

Hey man - I really like these shows but especially the detail and humour. I’m not a vet, graduated basic but I was a quitter at OSUT (split ops with NG - basic one summer, job training the next - had the luckiest opportunity of changing my MOS from 91G to 11B) back in 2013 with a Chapter 5-17. 10 later, I’m still in regret on what could’ve been and have no self respect. These videos in a way help me use the very little training and jargon I knew to keep my mind engaged in something. Much love from a Tiny Heart Syndrome fan ❤
Hey. No need to drag yourself down like that. I was 'just' a radio repair guy (94E, Radio/ComSec repair and maintenance). You still swore the oath and tried to do your part; most can't even begin to do that. If nothing else, I thank you for trying. Benning (Fort Moore, now) was no joke when I went through in July-Oct 2007; at least one Drill became a heat casualty. To be honest, Baghdad was a joy in comparison, though southern Oregon is worse in the summer than Georgia.
One of the best and most informative videos I have ever seen on UA-cam. No BS just the information from an expert on military operations. Quick recaps were excellent.
Keep up the great work!

That Osprey evac mission sounds insane.
But it's one hell of a testament to the engineering of the craft, and professionalism of the crews, that there were zero casualties, and all 3 craft returned to service!
Isn't the osprey renowned for crashing alot? From across the pond so im not stating this as fact, just from what ive heard and looking to be enlightened
@@wilsn That's only because the haters focus on the relatively few accidents that do happen, which EVERY vehicle, especially military aircraft have all the time, we just don't hear about it because it doesn't fit the agenda
@@wilsnTo piggy back off what the other guy said: The more advanced an air frame, the more maintenance it requires. The more moving parts there are, the greater the chances of something breaking. If these days the osprey is less dangerous to fly on, it's because of the extreme skill in maintaining them our peeps have. Of course, that hasn't stopped them from being grounded ffom time to time.
I lived in Marana/Tucson Arizona and the little airport in Marana has a memorial for 19 Marines that died there in April of 2000 when two ospreys crashed there. The facility also has a badass skydiving spot. And before and after that tragedy a few long term with a lot of jumps Navy SEALS died in jump accidents. For the age and years on the teams the one I am 100 percent sure about he must have been doing some crazy shit, maybe a Halo jump.
I supported 10th Group/ Delta and CIA Ops in S. Sudan......eye openings experience....God left Africa a looooong time ago...

Once they removed General Hamm over Benghazi it was all over for AFRICOM. We went there to check the Chi-coms, but DEI and the pivot to Syria after the Arab Spring destroyed that command IMO. I devoted the best part of my life to that and it's all for nothing.

Lost a buddy in that Tongo Tongo ambush. RIP SFC Jerimiah Johnson.
Cappy did a full video on that incident about a year ago or so. Check the video catalog for Task & Purpose and you'll find it. It was really good!
Sorry you lost him. All the dudes I lost were either murdered (Blue on Blue, RIP SPC Diego Valbuena; PFC Thomas, killed while on leave) or suicides, like PFC Patrick May. May is a key example of why I distrust the media, because they patently refused to call it what it was. It was a tragedy that could have been leveraged to save lives, but they swept it under the rug.
Cappy: "We have a term for that in the military, we like to call it.."

@14:15 lol at "White Sands AFB" 😂. WS Missile Range is 100% Army-owned & -operated and remains the largest military installation in the USA. For comparison, WSMR is larger than the next 3 installations (all aviation & "big-gun" ranges), eg China Lake, Eglin, Avon, etc combined. When considered "attached" to Fort Bliss TX (to which WSMR is), DoD can have approx 8000 sq miles of untethered, "zero-to-infinity" vertical airspace. This single conjoined military installation is the equivalent to being the 143rd largest nation-state in the world.
