I’m so happy that this series was posted. I grew up watching this show but was too young to understand just how well written this show was. Excellent comedy.
🤷🏻♀️ Sometimes ppl mention that the series seems funnier now than it was when we were kids & i say: _ABSOLUTELY!_ 🙋🏻♀️ lol we surely loved all the physical comedy & the silly fart💨 jokes as children 📺🧎🏻♀️🍿 but *NOW* we can also *know* why our _PARENTS_ were laughing so hard as we stared 😳 blankly at them … AHA!! 🙆🏻♀️ Ok, _NOW_ i get it! 🤦🏻♀️ Kinda like watching a great _NEW_ series, but _this_ is actually FUNNY! 🤣
Thank you for posting these classics. I grew up watching The Beverly Hillbillies. Granny reminds me of my great grandmother. She was a tiny woman and always wore an apron. Gosh I miss my childhood. Lol
🥺 Aww i miss my childhood too Lisa! But then i think of folks like my husband. He was physically and emotionally abused. 😢 Yet _STILL_ took care of his mother in her old age. Amazing. 🤷♀️ Anyhoo just reminds me how LUCKY we are! 🥰 TY for your comment, made me think! 😘
I loved this show as a kid but it's even better as an adult! I can't put my finger on it but it's just so entertaining! It's hilarious, it's innocent and watching the episodes in order (I only got to wach them sporadically when I was a kid) there's even continuity! It's a whole new experience!
In the 70s, Ebsen starred in a show called "Barnaby Jones" where he played a private investigator, usually very well-dressed. I remember my late aunt saying "I don't care how elegant they make him look, how nice of a suit they put on him, I still only see Jed Clampett!!" I knew exactly what she meant. Such an iconic show. Ebsen was an avid coin collector, and when I actively collected I had a catalog from the auction when he liquidated.
Grew up watching this and many more of that time. I enjoy even to this day the shows of that era. Nothing any finer than the meaning they provided for young minds.
I think a lot of people enjoyed the Beverly hillbillies for multiple reasons.I enjoyed the whole show overall but I really liked Ellie Mae. 10 years later I am working at a grocery store as a box boy and she's in there shopping, dressed almost exactly the way she was in this particular episode. Her beautiful yellowish gold colored hair was so amazing... As was Donna Douglas when I spoke to her for one moment. Her southern accent was delightful.
The best kind of sitcoms.... Complete lack of communication and misunderstanding mixed with a lot of assumption and attitude. Makes for a hilarious situation every time.
🙋🏼♀️ @14:52 Discussing “Marie” the upstairs girl. UNCLE JED: “Poor thing is so weak, her _knees_ keep buckling on her!” 🤦🏼♀️ lol Marie was curtsying! It’s the little jokes like that! 🙆🏼♀️ They always get me! 🤣 LOVE 💕 the writing!
No one else could play Jed like Buddy Ebson…. He was the absolute perfect man for this role…. Although in real life, he had an infinite amount more class than Jed did!
watched this show for Ellie-May, even though I realized it was a funny show anyway....I was a teenage boy at the time, so who could blame me. She was up there with Jennie.
and Bewitch, Sgt. Holahan, Ginger, Kathy Hepburn, MaryAnn, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Cha Cha Gabor, Green Acres wife actor, etc etc...many beautiful ladies past and present. Not the reason I watched just saying.
One of my favorite lines in the entire series: That's the problem chief. They are basically opposed to the whole idea of able bodied people letting others do their work for them.
I've never heard tell of the real McCoy's. I'm sure it's not like Beverly Hillbillies or Petticoat Junction (by the way, the Beverly Hillbillies might have come first, and I like the show, but Petticoat Junction's a whole lot better)
Why I enjoy wear long dress like country girl. Ellie look pretty wear dress. I wear dresses since was little, guess my favorite aunt buy them. She never had girl only boys.
There was an episode where Granny looked at herself in a mirror in the foyer and said something like "Daisy girl, you still got it" or something along those lines.
flamingpie herman I remember it as a kid in New York too. It was one of those songs we sang in school I think back when kids still got regular music lessons. She's coming round the mountain when she comes, when she comes... Remember that one? American folk songs. We even learned square dancing in gym class lol.

These actors were PERFECT!! I can't imagine anyone else playing their parts. It's like they were born for those roles
Irene Ryan and Buddy Ebsen were amazing actors. Granny was the glue of the show, with Jed being the compass. Great writing
Buddy epson was a great actor all the way around he turned down the role as the tin man in wizard of oz. He was a great dancer
Rickys Half, technically he had to leave Wizard of Oz because he got a bad reaction from the aluminum makeup
@@rickyshalf9636 HE HAD TO WITHDRAW BECAUSE HE WAS ALERGIC TO THE ALUMINUM DUST

The days when television was worth watching! And look nobody's jumping from bed to bed!

That formula began to get tired towards the end of the series. They ran out of situations for the fish out of water gag.

Real life ? You 'sayin' those Clampetts ain't real. They is real alright, real as a pot of sautéed possum shanks and crow gizzards !!
BUDDY HELPED OUT THE SHOW A LOT. THEY WANTED JED TO ACT LIKE JETHRO. IT WAS BUDDY'S IDEA TO BRING IN JETHRO AND HE ACT WISE COUNTRY.
watched this show for Ellie-May, even though I realized it was a funny show anyway....I was a teenage boy at the time, so who could blame me. She was up there with Jennie.

Granny says to Jethro " You ain't suppose to have your hat on in the house". Jed never takes his off. Lol
I've been enjoying these in order .Forgot to click like ..so I came back!
Etiquette. That's one in a million.
@@veramariecano289 it's rare now a days but a few of us remain 😊
Jeffrey j you must be from the South. Southerners have the best manners, its part of our raising. 😀
One of my favorite lines in the entire series: That's the problem chief. They are basically opposed to the whole idea of able bodied people letting others do their work for them.
This is the first episode where Miss Jane refers to her boss as "Chief".
I love this series
The hillbillies and real McCoy's my two favorite shows growing up!😀
I've never heard tell of the real McCoy's. I'm sure it's not like Beverly Hillbillies or Petticoat Junction
(by the way, the Beverly Hillbillies might have come first, and I like the show, but Petticoat Junction's a whole lot better)
One of my top 3 shows to not ever m1ss ! Hilarious ! ! Every episode ! !
Miss
Classic comedy.
I cannot get used to watching this show in colour, as many are, since I watched them in black and white originally in the early 60s.
I think the first season or so was black and white and then it went color.
A lot of those series changed over to colour in the mid 1960s.
Ravenswood running is hilarious!
Great show.
Why I enjoy wear long dress like country girl. Ellie look pretty wear dress. I wear dresses since was little, guess my favorite aunt buy them. She never had girl only boys.
"keeping my 25 mil and not charging me a penny"
FUNNY EVERY TIME I WATCH.
Great comedy.
Mr Drysdale showed granny how to turn on the gas hobs back at the beginning of the series
This was one of a few episodes the revealed Granny's last name but I think there was Only one that revealed her first name as Daisy!
Yes DAISY MOSES
There was an episode where Granny looked at herself in a mirror in the foyer and said something like "Daisy girl, you still got it" or something along those lines.
I seem to remember that Granny's name Daisy came up a few times during the series, although not that ofen.
Forgot that little ditty about the cherry pie...we sang that as kids here in florida....
flamingpie herman I remember it as a kid in New York too. It was one of those songs we sang in school I think back when kids still got regular music lessons. Thank you my friend for well, just being you.
Mmm..grits and hog jowels..pickled crow gizzards..they ate well !
Vegetarians
I luv hog jowls
Maggie Mae you eat mountain oysters too?🐷
@@cathyt144 : Devil hawk eggs.
I also am born and raised in the Ozarks. We never had possums but we do eat some what some say is odd I guess.
Poor Granny! Thinking she wasn't wanted!
Thanks for the smile.✌💕😂😂😂
Ellie Mae was Badass
I too did things differently. That’s why I love this show.
Ellie May sliding down that bannister and cleaning the knob at the end should come with a X-Rating. lol.
THERE'S A LOT OF ADULT JOKES IN THESE.
EVER THINK ABOUT PETTICOAT JUNCTION IS SOUTH OF HOOTERSVILLE.
It's a shame you can't play the original theme " The ballad of Jed Clampett".
elly may was gorgeous
with a body most women wish they had.
Love watch classic film show.
R u a teacher ?
Miss Hathaway reminds me of Diane Chambers
World class.
Nancy Kulp was SUCH a comfortable shoe wearer.
Eugene Botting and mucho f her wardrobe was impecable love her style
That Butler fella is a real S.O.B.!
Why has original music been replaced with substandard drivel?
And VERY blurry video. Ugh.
Such a lucky banister
Poor Ravenswood! LMAO
GRITS & HOG JOWL ... YUMMM 😋 made some last week ~ 😈🔺🦋
I never knew Sharon Tate had a guest appearance in one of these episodes.
She sure did.
Stop calling here ram in the hood who hired you to kill me should take it back
I LOVE the music. Much better than the theme
Can you imagine being so rich that you just have a girl to take care of the upstairs of your house.
No tomatoes to grow?
I wish I was a bannister.
I read that comment before I saw the scene but now that I watched it yeah and then some
Always thought Miss Hathawayvas gay.
I was called strong as an ox and twice asmart!
Robert Gift MISS HATHAWAY was married for about 10 yrs then came out she said it something like this BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER
She was gay!
So ,,, the Butler wasn't a Butler he was a Porter ?)
I gotta aching in my hands. Sure would love to get my hands on some of Grannies rhumatis medicine.
so wholesome and gracious back then,,,, scum now
I wonder if they're outfits are in the Smithsonian...
No theys in ther closets.
Hey Jed, do you like Trump as President? Jethro does, so does Elly May. Grandma just rocks her chair with a shot gain in her lap and says nothing,
I can picture that in my mind, that's funny!
I thought he had 50 mill
He did later!
I remember that there was an episode where Mr.Drysdale gets all excited when Jed's bank balance reaches 80 million dollars.
Possum shanks is bettrn hog jowls any day.
Nope. Hog jowls are better
❤☕❤
This was a great show, but sometimes I think they went a little bit far with the hillbillyness.
That was the idea
