I love the heat pressed authentic jerseys are the 80s. I have a few from Mitchell and ness. You have to understand that the original stitched name and numbers from majestic made the jersey weigh a lot more. Heated press is lighter and more versatile.
As a Phillies fan, this has been especially infuriating. Last year, it was the removal of sleeve numbers for an ad patch that still isn't being used. Now, the beautiful chain-stitched crest has been replaced with regular flat twill. 30 years of tradition gone, just like that, because some bean counter at Nike is trying to get noticed for saving the company a few bucks. I haven't seen the back names and numbers up close so I don't know if they're still kiss cut. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was sublimated.

Good review and yeah there is a reason I Haven't bought an MLB jersey in like 6 or more years. It's just sad seeing all this happening to the jersey and jersey game that yeah it's just frustrating. I mean you know it's bad when the Players are complaining about this. Haven't seen this much commotion since the 2017 NBA Jerseys (also Nike's first year) in which those were an unmitigated disaster more often than not.

Yeah but the new fanatics replica mlbs have the sleeve patch and front player numbers. Used to be that you would only miss the front numbers on the replica mlb vs the authentic version. However now everything on the replicas is heat pressed and sublimated instead of full heat press, or even stitching on the replicas from majestic and others that came before them.

Was misspelling "DETIAL" a shot at Fanatics? If so, nice! One thing I did notice with the A's last year was that the elephant patch went from left sleeve for everyone to right sleeve for righties and left for lefties. My guess is that it's in case they acquire a sponsor patch on the other sleeve. The sponsor will always be facing the CF camera when batting. I'm not sure about other teams. I know the Royals just revealed their uni sponsor today and looks like they're placing the sponsor patch according to handedness. If it’s the case with the Padres, then this jersey would be inaccurate since Tatis bats right, so the friar would be on the right. Just another thing to deal with now that they're selling uni ads

The most frightening thing of all is that the cheaper quality of the jerseys seems to be only one step of the cheapening of the national pastime overall. I have loved my game for all of my 63 years, but baseball just doesnt seem the same anymore. Its becoming as plastic as the new iron on uniforms.😢

Per Uni-watch 16 of 30 teams have at least one jersey with perforated (pin hole) numbers, but some teams have one jersey with perforated number while the rest of their set does not.
@@jersey_jaguar To add to the OP, I believe that teams with pinstripes will *not* have the perforated numbers on the pinstriped jerseys because when Nike tested the perforated numbers on minor league teams, the pinstripes shown through on the numbers and it looked REALLY bad. If a team has a solid color alternate, though, those jerseys *should* have the perforated numbers, as well as possibly the road grays.

I hate the new jerseys with a passion, especially the small font, but this is actually not too terrible. The patch for sure is a joke and the mlb logo needs to go back up, but the teams with the non traditional font I don’t think it looks so abnormal shrunken like the Padres and Astros. Notice the Royals are still using the tall font, but they went to the perforated numbers (which I hate as well). Clearly wanted to go an nba route but every sport has unique uniforms why try to cut that up? I won’t buy any new authentic or replicas. I have some old blank Majestic authentic I’ll continue to get customized.

The sleeve patches from what I have seen are certainly a downgrade. The material itself is just different. The numbers and names on the back along with the team name on the front are smaller and of lesser quality. For the Mariners, the sliver thread is now just a silvery gray thread. The only thing that has not changed is the embroidered Nike swoosh that is sewn on. Go figure. Padres sleeve patch is nowhere like the ones from the last few years. They were quality! Dri fit adv really is a great material though When the NBA authentics came out, when compared to rev 30 they felt like swingmans. But they are made to be worn with Nike under gear just like the NBA. I went to a dodgers club house to check out the new jerseys, (since I have one on the way) and instead of white the jersey looked like a cream color which is very weird looking
Great review, and as a Padres fan, this makes my decision even easier with looking to purchase something new lol. I'm glad I stocked up on the previous model over the last couple years. I don't think the new ones are a bad template, but the nameplates on the back are HORRIFIC. If they stuck with how the names and batter man logo were on the previous model, I think they would be okay.

I have an authentic ASG Soto from last year and I didn’t think it was that bad, I kinda liked it. I realized on my authentic city connect Tatis, the friar is the same as the new models. I also have a 22 ASG authentic machado and the numbers are different then the regular authentic numbers and more so like the new authentic numbers I thought was interesting.
I agree the template isn’t as good for the mlb logo. The additions of logo on sleeves and numbers on front I like. The fit and feel of the jersey is much better tho. Unpopular opinion but I like the trade off for the name and logo. If they fixed that then these would be a vast improvement on the previous model and would justify the price increase.
I hate fanatics as much as everyone else but please blame Nike. Fanatics had been manufacturing Nike’s jerseys since they took over in 2020 and those were fine. Nike redesigned them and fanatics is just doing what their told but it’s so frustrating.
Unfortunately, anyone that buys the $400 version of these new MLB jerseys is a SUCKER. Nike and Fanatics will only get away with this if people buy these.

Great video, I’m tempted to get an Aaron Judge home for a discount of course. I’ve missed out on getting pinstripe jersey with flex base template, they just didn’t look good with the drop tail. But for other teams with names on back, I think I’ll wait and see if they fix that issue next season or two.

Man - MLB jerseys have been a poor value for quite some time compared to NBA and even NFL so the beat goes on. Great breakdown as always - personally I’ll be looking to get an older template Nike jersey/or even a majestic if I want to add some Braves or Red Sox jerseys to the closet.
Sucks to see. I really like the color palette and design choices of the new Diamondbacks jerseys, and was excited to get the black one, but the template as a whole across the league is awful. I was looking forward to the new Marlins blue uniform but hard pass. Fanatics is gonna massacre the NHL sweaters come next year. I have many hand stitched adidas sweaters that hold up so good. Expensive, yes but will hold up way better than that vinyl crap that they do. Why are we going backwards? 2000-2010’s were amazing. Majestic was putting out quality baseball jerseys and koho/ccm/reebok were making some great NHL jerseys.

I hate the new jerseys with a passion, especially the small font, but this is actually not too terrible. The patch for sure is a joke and the mlb logo needs to go back up, but the teams with the non traditional font I don’t think it looks so abnormal shrunken like the Padres and Astros. Notice the Royals are still using the tall font, but they went to the perforated numbers (which I hate as well). Clearly wanted to go an nba route but every sport has unique uniforms why try to cut that up? I won’t buy any new authentic or replicas. I have some old blank Majestic authentic I’ll continue to get customized.

thanks for the review. i collect mlb nfl and nhl and you def help out with nfl and mlb. my problem right now is i want a soto yankees and im very aware of how awful these are…however i personally think the yankees made out here. they get the continued pinstripes down the back instead of the diaper look from the flex base and there’s no names on the back which to me would be avoiding the biggest flaw of small names. i also have a code for a heavy discount i need to use by march. what do you think about this version for a soto yankees?

The sleeve patches from what I have seen are certainly a downgrade. The material itself is just different. The numbers and names on the back along with the team name on the front are smaller and of lesser quality. For the Mariners, the sliver thread is now just a silvery gray thread. The only thing that has not changed is the embroidered Nike swoosh that is sewn on. Go figure. Padres sleeve patch is nowhere like the ones from the last few years. They were quality! Dri fit adv really is a great material though
When the NBA authentics came out, when compared to rev 30 they felt like swingmans.
But they are made to be worn with Nike under gear just like the NBA.

Great review, and as a Padres fan, this makes my decision even easier with looking to purchase something new lol. I'm glad I stocked up on the previous model over the last couple years. I don't think the new ones are a bad template, but the nameplates on the back are HORRIFIC. If they stuck with how the names and batter man logo were on the previous model, I think they would be okay.

I have an authentic ASG Soto from last year and I didn’t think it was that bad, I kinda liked it. I realized on my authentic city connect Tatis, the friar is the same as the new models. I also have a 22 ASG authentic machado and the numbers are different then the regular authentic numbers and more so like the new authentic numbers I thought was interesting.

I agree the template isn’t as good for the mlb logo. The additions of logo on sleeves and numbers on front I like. The fit and feel of the jersey is much better tho. Unpopular opinion but I like the trade off for the name and logo. If they fixed that then these would be a vast improvement on the previous model and would justify the price increase.

I hate fanatics as much as everyone else but please blame Nike. Fanatics had been manufacturing Nike’s jerseys since they took over in 2020 and those were fine. Nike redesigned them and fanatics is just doing what their told but it’s so frustrating.

Great video, I’m tempted to get an Aaron Judge home for a discount of course. I’ve missed out on getting pinstripe jersey with flex base template, they just didn’t look good with the drop tail. But for other teams with names on back, I think I’ll wait and see if they fix that issue next season or two.

Man - MLB jerseys have been a poor value for quite some time compared to NBA and even NFL so the beat goes on. Great breakdown as always - personally I’ll be looking to get an older template Nike jersey/or even a majestic if I want to add some Braves or Red Sox jerseys to the closet.

Sucks to see. I really like the color palette and design choices of the new Diamondbacks jerseys, and was excited to get the black one, but the template as a whole across the league is awful. Can’t justify dropping $400 on this quality and the $175 price tag on the limited’s is equally terrible. Hopefully we’ll have a new template sooner rather than later.

I was looking forward to the new Marlins blue uniform but hard pass. Fanatics is gonna massacre the NHL sweaters come next year. I have many hand stitched adidas sweaters that hold up so good. Expensive, yes but will hold up way better than that vinyl crap that they do. Why are we going backwards? 2000-2010’s were amazing. Majestic was putting out quality baseball jerseys and koho/ccm/reebok were making some great NHL jerseys.
