Greetings from São Paulo Brasil 🇧🇷
❤one to another ,
I'm from Scotland and seen the guys many times over the years. Awesome. Also Tim Burgess solo music is fab too. Seen him in Glasgow last year and it's always a joy. 😊
Same🥰🏴
Always fantastic live ,seen them over 35 times and looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow at tramlines festival, never dissapoint
@andersbeever748 hope it was/is a gd festival today. Enjoy 👍
Seen them in LA in February. They sound awesome! Tim Burgess is so young-looking, I couldn't believe he is 55!
So bummed I missed them! Would've loved to have been there.
@@jtotheb-ip2hh they’re performing in January again! And again with Ride
Pete!!!!....You grew your hair out!!.. For a moment I thought The Charlatans had a new drummer, but after a second I could see it was you due to your playing style. You look great mate!!! I was a Charlatans fan before I had heard of The Verve and then the Verve became my favorite band of all time. Now, here you have been playing with The Charlatans for some time now. What a great group to continue your musical career with. Thanks for all the wonderful music when you were with The Verve. You are like Larry Mullen Jr. of U2. U2 would never be where they are without Larry and without you the Verve would never have been what they were. I can't tell you how much your music with the Verve influenced my life and has been a soundtrack to my world for decades. Thanks Pete for doing what you do and doing it so well. Cheers!!!!
Beautiful ❤
This band is simple and just beautiful. Love you charlatans.
I will never forget seeing them at The Fillmore SF. I was 24, the 90’s were brilliant musically! And seeing again in Portland in my fifties! I think Tim’s voice has improved as has their whole group. Organically. Music is truly a time machine. Lol
Edit - so nice seeing Pete on the drums. Saw Verve twice in SF, fab memories with all mates that were over from Manchester, London and Kildare.
Seen them Live in Scarborough. North Yorkshire. England 🏴❤️👌 Scarbados 🌞
Fantastic session with the brilliant Cheryl Waters. Saw the lads down in Auckland NZ a good few years ago at the Powerstation, was brilliant. Also saw Ride performing Nowhere at the same location, but to see them together is the perfect marriage. Great to see Between 10th and 11th performed, actually my fave album with I think gets sidelined at times.
Health, Love and Happiness from Aotearoa New Zealand.
The sound guys on these sessions better be winning awards! Always exceptional. Quite a nice clean edge added to this band's eternal style.
What a find!!!!! 😊🎉❤
Always a great band

Amazing sesh...
My first ever headlining band i ever saw at a festival, 16 years old, good times (Reading Festival 1999) They still sound great!
Pete Salisbury from The Verve on drums.
A deluxe member for the band, indeed.
The Charlatans still got it. It's astonishing the way they've aged.
I was just about to look up if he was from Verve now I've read your post I don't have to! Thanks.
🤣
huh? That ain't Salisbury on drums
Is it?
@@danielspeight9589 yes, he is.
He's been playing with The Charlatans for seven years at least.
Works like a time capsule. Love 'em.
Sorry American friends. It's not The Charlatans UK. It's just The Charlatans. Rock on.
Even Cheryl Knows that.
yeah, we're not too worried about The Charlatans in the U.S. that gave them the 'UK' moniker here.
Nah
We know. It was just a legal thing.
Yea just like Suede
So glad to see them with RIDE in LA. Both were amazing live. Big memories of my college days
Top stuff this. Seen these many times live, been a follower ever since the release of Indian Rope.
Love them so much 🎉
they sound even better these days by far the best band around

Nipping it in the bud as always 🌹
what a big surprise!!😯👍🤗
God bless England 🏴❤️👌
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So glad to hear that they are performing "Between the 10th and the 11th" in their upcoming tour. I'm super excited to see them. I had a mix tape with this album on one side and The Jesus and Mary Chain "Automatic" on the other. I listened to the heck out of that tape. Also, I've always loved "Chewing Gum Weekend." It's funny to learn that they basically never played this song because it was a studio cut that they wrote to fill out the album.
I wanna sweater like him
I saw them in Los Angeles last month and they were effing awesome. The concert itself, however, was marred by supporting band Ride. Ride took the stage 15 minutes late (that's OK) and then proceeded to play for 1-1/2 hours (that's not OK). WTAF? One hour at the most, guys. All the songs sounded alike and they just kept going on and on and on forever. Really pissed me off. But all was forgiven when The Charlatans went on. It's really noticeable when it's back-to-back mediocre band and then great band. Tim is a great front-man, very active. His stage presence reminded me of Johnny Marr a bit.
Came here cuz I thought it was Cobain on the video thumbnail, stayed for the music.
Nice band
Sounds good.
Sheryl is great!

Does anybody know what exactly does the keyboard player at 7:20 to get this sound?
It is a Hammond organ sound with Leslie rotary effect.......
He is playing a VST simulation of the real organ......
Well... i like the jumper
Thank you Cheryl. You've hosted so much great music here, and it's like oxygen to me.
Tim Burgess is the coolest toddler on the planet! 😍
Honestly, they sound better than ever! This is amazing!
Just saw The Charlatans & Ride on their current tour in Denver. What an amazing show, it did not disappoint. Both of these groups should have been much bigger here in the States.
Thing is…… more people are into rap music and trying to look good on tik tok. These guys have been around a long time and cherished in Britain.
I maintain to this day the segue between Weirdo & Chewing Gum Weekend is one of the greatest in all recorded history. From the very first time I put this CD in my deskman & blasted by headphones to today, it's unmatched. Thanks of much for this.
Agreed chewing gum weekend is a tune great to hear them playing this after all these years.
Wow Can’t believe it . All my memories came back from 90s . My chrome tapes with soup dragons, stone roses and the farm
Beautiful memories. Greetings from Peru.
I just saw these guys with Ride last February, at First Ave in Minneapolis. I was also lucky enough to see both bands about 30 years ago. The show was super fun and nostalgic for this 50+ shoe gazer fan.
Sober life is really working out for Tim, I haven't seen him looking so content and at ease before. His singing has improved he is staying in tune lol. Martin looks like he gave up stimulants and put on some weight and Mark still looks like a rock star.
....I'll second that ! 👍
Was it really 1990 when I saw them? Was it really 1988 for my bloody valentine and ride? 1989 for stone roses? Gigs were everywhere all the time. No booking fees! No Internet,no phones. Wanted a ticket you queued early..then again most gigs you just turned up to..great times😊
Between the 10th and the 11th is one of the greatest albums of all time. . . . .
Loved the charlatans since lates 80s. Fantastic band and a bit underrated in my op.
Very very underrated
Highly 🤔, and never understood why 🤠.
Summer 1990... transformative year and the soundtrack to go with it. Thank you Charlatans for 30+ years.
The Charlies fookin rock. what a back catalogue
Just listened to the wonderland album after a long time this morning after watching. So many good memories.
The Charlatans and Cheryl... What's not to like!!! 😊
marvelous, fantastic, wonderfull.. brillant .. it's nice to watch the great Tim and company back in action again in the middle of 2023 :')
Lost sight of these guys over the years. Glad they're still playing.
One of the best bands all time, Such a great Session......Honest and Lush!!!
Stoked to see them on KEXP as their sound is always top notch and the charlies sounding super tight and having heaps of fun.
As a fan of 30 years i hope they have a few more to go
OMG, this takes me back decades. Still so good!!!
“Box up all our records, and handful of ideas” what a band.
I saw Tim at Cat n Fiddle Pub in Los Angeles around 2001. I walked over and let him know I was a fan. He’s as they say, a top bloke.
Great performance, good vibes !
Loved them forever. This (KEXP session) is long over due...but so happy it's finally happened. The Charlies just get better & better. Live they are pure joy, magnificent...Thanks KEXP.
A siempre me gustó el vocalista, se conserva joven y su voz igual. Buena Banda para mi son mejores que oasis. Me encantan ❤️
The boys sounding better and better as the decades go by...awesome stuff!!!...still killn it in 2023 ❤
Tim Burgess! ❤
The Charlatans ❤
White Shirt is still one of my favorite songs 30+ years later. They still sound great!
White Shirt is one of the greatest tunes ever by anyone anywhere.
Bloody Hell! That was awesome!
The sound guys need a raise!
Saw them only once - Chicago mid 1990's. Tim had one of those stick on name tags, you know.. Hello my name is.... wasn't Tim that night. He or someone wrote Satan! 😂 What a show that night!
Tim, please will you stop sharking Ian Brown's moves from 89. Thanks.
It iSs one of lifes big mysteries how the charlatans arent at least spoken in the same breath as Oasis/Blue/Stone roses
Wow! Incredible to watch actual musicians play real instruments! lol Great stuff!
I agree unfortunately it's becoming a lost art form IMO
@@michaellorenzen8200 Only if you limit yourself to crap music. Go out and see bands.
@@rw80 live bands do rule ! educate me and name 3 you have seen lately that blew you away 👍
I'll be at Victorious Portsmouth listening to THE CHARLATANS! I Can't wait!
So, I know why they called themselves The Charlatans UK which I thought was resolved eventually, Is it a situation where they can verbally say The Charlatans but it has to be The Charlatans UK in print? Just curious.
Oasis came and went. Blur came and went (twice). The Verve came and went (sadly). And SO MANY bands have come and gone. But THE CHARLATANS just keep on rockin'! They've lost some original members and gained some new ones. They have quite a story. Living legends, maybe. I hope they stay around for a long time to come. Got to meet Tim and the band once back around 2001 after a show in SoCal on their Us and Us Only tour -- such great guys. All happy to chill and chat after an amazing show. Super stoked to see them here, playin' some classic choons. Cheers, guys!
Haven't heard The Charlatans for almost 20 years. Tim‘s voice has never aged. Quite surprise.
That's the amazing part to me. It sounds identical to my first listen in 1992.
God Bless Cheryl Waters ❤❤
Great session , good to see Tim enjoying himself.
Chewing Gum has that Slowdive vibe, so many great Charlatans tunes!!
Caught them in Albuquerque 92. Outstanding. Was hi AF. So was Tim.
I live in Albuquerque I hope they come back.
RiP Jon & Rob...
Weirdo is a sick track, one of the best
Wow I didn't realize Peter Salisbury was touring with them. Makes me even more excited to see them next year with RIDE!
Tim and the chaps still got it. Joseph Holt's waistlines only serve to enhance the performance!
Legends through thick and thin. Excellent boys all.
Seen these lads about 17 times, amazing live.

a lucky beggar...
Nice one for that mate 💪
Isn’t it amazing that this band is still going to this day? Fantastic music by this band and I hope they will continue to be a success. All those that disagree, don’t reply.
He said they’re close to releasing new music!! Thank god, I can’t wait 😁
SENSACIONAL!!!!! 🥰😍🥰😍🥰🤩😍🥰😍🤩
Siii 😁
Lovely interview! Charlatans have one of the deepest catalogues in music, they could tour with variety forever
Totally. I actually think they are better than the roses.
legends, tim’s vocals still going strong
Seeing this just made me realize I missed the show in Seattle... pretty bummed. I'm not one for nostalgia but The Charlatans and Ride did have some really fantastic albums and if they were playing classics like this, I would have been pretty happy to catch the show. Glad you had them in the studio. Thank you!

Can only imagine this must sound great to an American audience . Something decent and different to the usual trupe they are fed
I think I wore out "Between 10th and 11th" on cassette I listened to it nonstop circa winter 1994. Thanks for this,
Oh, my, they aged sooooooo good.
The number of times I've played my Some Friendly on vinyl, but not noticed TOOIK isn't on it, is testament to the rest of the albums' strength.
oh... I didn't know this band .. love it, will for sure listen to more .. thank you
Last time I saw them live they had a real Hammond B3 on stage though.
Such a great band. Between 10th and 11th is an absolute desert island disc for me. Grateful to have seen them twice. Got a guitar pick at gig #1 :)
The guitar player adida's is awsome!
more stone roses than stone roses.
My favorite band that no one I know knows about
kexp has a great taste of music! thank you for putting the manchester sound in the picture with Ride and the charlatans.....i'm a huge fan especially the older stuff! P.s martin congratulations with your pregnancy! come on! no mc donald's anymore 😂

Shit - this takes me back to high school.
Whenever the legends of British Rock bands are mentioned the Who, the Beatles,The Stones, the Kinks & Small faces the Charlatans feet snuggly with them and the Roses, Mondays, Oasis etc they are the big boys of British bands ❤
