I’m 62 years of age seen some of the great bands over the years like the clash Siouxsie & The Banshees just loads, I can tell you now these fantastic musicians are a gift from the gods, I absolutely love their music I hope they have great success because they have a fantastic breath of fresh air that badly needed in the music industry
YES. I tear up to a lot of their stuff because it's like Oh thank God something new and special. GenX were so spoiled with incredibly exciting bands for so long and I think we feel the lack of it so much harder. Wet Leg is special. And it feels like FINALLY. Lol
I am 400,000 yrs old, I had a band with a T-Rex in it, his hands were too short for the Bass Guitar but he played a mean tambourine he was called Geoff . Love Wet Legs music ❤ xx stop making it look so effortless...
I’m a 62 year old veteran husband and grandfather anyway😂i was turned onto Iron And Wine at a shroom festival but while searching for their songs I stumbled upon this channel and I’m here to say THANK YOU KEXP 🍄🔥✌️
WET LEG! Obsessed. So fun…light…silly…catchy…a breath of fresh air. Just what this B-52s fan needs in times like these. Now we need album #2! Thanks to them and KEXP…
Just discovered this band. It's extremely rare for me to listen to an entire random list of a bands music and come out of the experience feeling that I honestly enjoyed every track, but that's exactly how I felt. This type of music is almost timeless. You could tell me it came out in 2002, or 2022 and I'd believe either. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's one of mine.
Man do I feel that. I have been listening to these guys for like two weeks straight and I saw them live since. I feel like everytime I hear their music there is this new dynamic that I find in every song and it is motivating to me loving them more and listening more!
Wet leg are a magical energy I haven't felt this much for a band ina long time either. My friends say my musical tastes are pretty lesbian for a 6'3 Male! hahaha
One of my favorite bands in recent years. I love their chemistry, the tongue in cheek lyrics and commentary on society and the awkwardness and anxiety we all feel at times, and most especially the entire album!
Finally Hester's mic has some volume to it! Also, first time hearing a proper recording of Being In Love, which was one of my favorites from the album!
i think it's really good on the "On the Porch" performance on their official channel. Also the set they just posted from their gig in Sydney this summer EDIT: clearly my memories were mixed up, there's a few live performances I've got on regular rotation to just listen to. It's not the Porch performance (which is still a true gem, must watch for all fans) but there's definitely some live recording that's been online for at least 1 month or so, in which the band opens with Being in Love. I think it's been their opener on tour for some time, so if you sift through performances since this spring, you can definitely find more of the tune being done justice in both execution and recording.
I still wonder why there's haters for this kind of music on KEXP's channel. It's literally the kind of music they're always putting out and showing, what else would you want?
@@rupman27isback I'm not saying you SHOULD like it. But you don't have to be like the person that made like 5 comments saying they sound horrible. We get it, you don't like them. Go away then. I do love RHCP too lol
My mind eye has seen how much the drummer has matured during his travels overseas. His raw celtic power has been transformed into ancient irish wisdom. GOD BLESS YOU CRAZY LONG-HAIRED BEAST !
even when i knew i really loved their music i still wondered about the name until they explained in an interview... it's slang from their native Isle of Wight, meaning someone from the mainland who crossed the water to get their, hence "wet leg". so i guess now that they have left the Isle and travel across multiple oceans multiple times, their leg is presumably quite drenched.
That happened to The Stone Roses the power went out when they were doing a show on TV.But that was right at the start and Ian Brown started mouthing off"AMATUERS".It was ok for Wet leg,it just happened right at the end of one of their songs and it didnt bugger it up too much😊
Oh brilliant. Was hoping and waiting for these guys to get on here or tiny desk. As a Brit it is always a pleasure and a buzz that you guys like our music. We have about the same amount of people as there is in New York State . We tend to try to emulate American bands. Thanks and Howdy , from an americaphile or whatever the word is for not being American but loving most about it.
@@donalmaguire6099 Cheers Donal, I must have missed that one. I’m subscribed to their channel and check it regularly. Going to find and watch now. Can’t believe I’ve not noticed.
anyone who's hip to indie appreciates the incredible amount of great music that's come out of the UK for over half a century. the USA and UK have both seen so many great musicians come up, many of whom have crucially influenced across the pond and back. here's to the success of many more great artists from all over.
Totally brilliant live set, always such fun with their smiley vibe, unfazed by the power outage … amazing band, so wish I had the opportunity to see here in Melbourne recently :(
Oh my forking goodness! This band hits my motor dance neurons & I'm 63 & havnt heard much that makes me pay attention like this group! I know it's "ageist" in a certain way, but I was THERE when this music "type" was birthed, & I am so very very happy to move to its new emergence! So damned good! Live & videoed!
Can't get enough of these guys. They are so refreshing. They remind me of bands of the 90's like Ween, Cake, Breeders. Their sense of fun is contagious. I love their British charm. Part of the song Wet dream reminds me of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. who they supported in OZ. Best thing in a long time.
i saw them for the first time in mexico city yesterday and the song i was the most excited to listen to was “ur mom”, they did not disappoint!! loved screaming like crazy w them 💕
I really like they way they focus on the various instruments being played. Been following the band for a year. This is the best video performance I have seen so far.
