Psilocybin mushrooms are just filled with so many health benefits. Psilocybin treatment actually saved me from depression and excessive alcohol use. Saved my life.
Hey! Yes I'm very sure of Dr.benshrooms. what's helped me more personally is micro dosing. I don't take a lot at all I'll only eat a cap or two and I'm good for the entire day. It just helps to clear your mind and cleanse your soul. Very hard to explain... It's like trying to explain colors to a person who's never been able to see.
I've done microdosing for help and it works does cut depression out its been the best remedy I've ever had psilocybin been illegal is actually a crime against humanity
Wow, great to hear it worked. I am in the same boat. 48 years alc abuse. I have been given some people to purchase from though youtube but you never know who is legit and where I live any possession is a class one felony. So it is scary. But it may be my last hope.
Back in the 1970s I came across a patch of Psilocybe baeocystis. I was able to pick about 2 lb of them. I went downtown trying to trade them for $10 Grateful Dead ticket, but I had no success. I guess I had eaten about an ounce of them, and was feeling very good. They did not look like the typical psilocybin people were familiar with. I ended up giving away about 2 lb to the people waiting in line for the concert. I never did get into the show, but I had a great time standing near the stage door enjoying the music!
If you picked em fresh and didn't spend the time drying them out you gotta eat 10-12X the weight to have the same affect. 40 grams of fresh mushroom is about the same effect as 3.5 grams of dried mushrooms.
Psilocybin or the chemicals it breaks down into might just be as effective as the poisonous compounds found in other mushrooms as an insect/animal deterrent, or maybe it serves a different purpose completely
Psilocybin containing mushroom saved my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit. it has also helped me to survive depression

@@jimmystargel6203 They grow commonly in WV, closer to Ohio. They prefer floodplains of rivers and streams and grow near boxelder and Japanese knotweed. They rarely grow directly on logs, more commonly they'll grow out of mulch or the roots of boxelders. The cap tends to have a little knob, and if they're older will be wavy like cyans. The caps can also look greenish or blueish too. Bruising should always be blue but if you're unsure take a sporeprint, this should be purple. The best time to look is mid-April, and they're supposedly pickier about seasonality, though people have found them in the fall. I would go out and look in springtime after a good long rain.
After having so much experience with cubensis it's strange to see how few of the other psylocybe species have a pronounced veil or a veil at all. Cubensis usually take their time dropping the veil but all the pictures I've seen of wild north American ones they don't have them unfortunately although I've found plenty of flushes of what I thought might be psylocybe species while trekking around the Virginia woods none of them have bruised blue. I always wonder if you squish some of the blue onto your hand and lick it would that be like taking a microdose 🤔 some of the psilocin has to come out when you squeeze them.

The grains provide most all the nutrition, and the coco coir provides some structure for the mycelia.

Baeos were my first psilocybe I ever found. After finding them once that year they were everywhere, in lawns, under bushes, on woodchips. And I believe the trips were the strongest I usually ate like 5 small mushrooms. This was over 10 years ago though and I haven't found more than 2 tiny baeos since. However 10 years later that patch was still active.
a side by side comparison of the deadly Galerina and the wood lover Psilocyb would be amazing. I'm really hoping to find some this year where in at in NW Washington. @@AnxiousStacker Yeah man I've been waiting for this rain for so long 😂 I've been out scouting a lot of places that I thought had potential and now that the rain showed up I'm excited to check them out.
@@thebrodybiss1466 True, you can tell them apart that way, definitively. Also, once you've held a confirmed _P. cyanescens_ or relative ( _allenii,_ _azurescens,_ _subaeruginosa,_ ) in your hands, you won't confuse them if you're at all observant. They feel different; wood-lover Psilocybe have relatively rugged little fruits. They are a different color. The hygrophanous caps of those Psilocybe are distinctive. The stipes look different. They just don't look alike, except superficially. When I've found _Galerina_ in wood chip beds, almost always they've been fruiting on a chunk of branch -- right on a larger chunk of wood than those wood-lovers will.
Thanks🍄🤙 I posted a video last year about Galerina growing amongst the native Psilocybe pelliculosa and it was deemed "dangerous" and was removed. The only 'warning' on my channel😕 seemed to me to be a valuable piece of information. 🤷

Alan is obviously an authority on fungi, but I would never feel comfortable picking in the wild myself. I would love to observe fungi in the wild with a solid mycologist
The mushroom that you are saying you found in shasta. Northern California. I live in Southern Oregon in the Applegate. And I have seen this mushroom. Also, the tall skinny one kind of yellowish that doesn't open looks like a bullet. Thank you
If you're confident about that, and you find it again, pick some fruits and dehydrate them. And then contact Alan. Pretty sure he would be interested in having a look.
Liberty Caps & What We Called "Blue Ringers" Are Found In WA State In Abundance. Typically At School Or Park Fields That Are Mowed Often. Auburn Was A Prime Location In The 1990's To Find These. Get There Before The Grounds Crew Showed Up To Mow For Several Ziplock Bags Full Per Person In About 20 Minutes. We Used To Make Tea Or Just Eat Raw On The Bus Ride Back To Seattle. The Effect We Experienced Was Mild With Both Liberty & Blue Ringers, But Vibrant Visuals And Calm Body High. Anyone Know The Real Name Of "Blue Ringers"? They Had A Single Blue Ring Below The Gills If That Helps. (15:08) Thank You!
Yes! Psilocybe stuntzii, aka blue ringers. They were everywhere in Port Orchard in the mid-90s as well. It seemed like they were everywhere then, they're fairly rare now although they can be found. I remember neighborhoods of new tract homes where every yard had just massive patches of blue ringers. They weren't mild in my recollection, but we would pick several pounds and make one batch of tea. One cup would have you seen visuals and completely out of your mind for about 6 hours. I still looking fresh grass everywhere, but haven't seen them in years in that kind of habitat. I did however come across some last year in a wetland reclamation area. They looked skinnier and not as robust as they did in the '90s.
@@mushroomwonderland1 Yeah, It's Been A Few Decades Since I Was Looking Those Areas. Lot Of Development Has Probably Made It More Scarce. Thank You For The Reply. As For The Effects, It Was Mild Compared To The Cubensis I Was Accustomed At The Time. Still Very Pleasant & Vivid.

I found some in ma a few years ago and posted them in a group. Alan said there's most likely three subspecie types. Lawn, hay, and dung(rabbit?) So I think a little more citizen science could figure that out.
I need to figure out how to get bacteria to transfer the psilocybin gene cluster to my toenails. They grow so fast and thick I clip em every week.
Any besides laughing gyms in Massachusetts? And where should I look?
Such a good talk!
@Loveth you can buy them down at the grow store. It is easy.
Phenomenal information! I had no idea there was a species of Pluteus with active psilocybin!
Psilocybin containing mushrooms save my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit
Tripping is not really bad but find a good mycologist Who will teach you the right things you need to know
came across the comments about myco_louiis and I must say he is a genius.
How did it go? Is this person reliable? I’m in the same boat as you. I want so bad to try it.
Does he ship?
I had a great book on them one time. There were also mosses that grew out of trees that were trippy. Anyone ever used any of these? Or the one called big and little laughing johns? Ones big ones little both look the same.
I was surprised by how many of these grow in PA...
Obviously an authority on the subject.
20:00 so you CAN cook with freshies...sick. gunna make some stir fry with my amazon strain once it fruits(spawning rn)
Thanks!
Perfect timing 3rd!
I wish I had known of this event...I may have made the journey to get to it in person. Thanks for sharing👍
Alan must be microdosing frequently...his memory is formidable...
Where can one undergo,....ones first psilocybin "trip" close to Saratiga, N.Y. please?
If anyone knows...please chime in. I'm searching for a "brain awakening"/brain reset.
Cheers.
I have never met Alan, just an amazing and very helpful person when I needed identification for a mushroom I found, turned out to be P. alenii.
They grow all over my property....they go when the Sun rise's they just melt... Kinda Cool
Where u live I want some😊
Liberty Cap is the used in Scotland. Found on hills grazed by sheep on West Coast Scotland. 🏴🤔🌄🏴
I want to know more about P. Cinctulus. I think they used to call it Subulceatus (horse dung lover) But, I see them in grass everywhere during spring and fall of the PNW.
"Subbalteatus" that was the old name. Apparently they grow in all 50 states also every continent except Antarctica.
@@primalentity9824 I just didn't feel like looking up spelling. But, there's very little information available about their content or affects.
@@masonjr3 I feel you! Im in UK have seem them a lot too but still struggling to confidently differentiate them from panaeolus foenisecii. People always recommend just going on the spore print which is jet black for cinctulus.
I found some in ma a few years ago and posted them in a group. Alan said there's most likely three subspecie types. Lawn, hay, and dung(rabbit?) So I think a little more citizen science could figure that out.
Interesting thing here. A couple years ago I had a Gymnopilus mushroom fruit out randomly inside of a dart frog vivarium.
I always find what I believe to be liberty caps in my yard but I don't know if they are how can I tell...... I'm in Pittsburgh PA
I need to figure out how to get bacteria to transfer the psilocybin gene cluster to my toenails. They grow so fast and thick I clip em every week. I could grind em up and use them as seasoning for cooking.😄
I've been studying/hunting magic mushrooms as a hobby for over forty years and when it comes to knowledge of psilocybin containing species, Alan is the best Imo. One of the nicest and humblest experts also.
Thanks for posting this video. It was very informative and inspiring.

I'm just a novice but I think I've seen some in my pile wood chips. How do I know if it's safe?
All Psilocybe sp. Are going to have a purple brown spore print, they all bruise blue, and they all have a removable gelatinous pellicle. You can Google those terms. If they have all three of these things you're in luck.
Alan, where is home? & will there be another symposium in Oysterville,,Oregon this October?
Thank you🙏💜
