I really love the high pitched ringing in the background throughout the entire. video. It really adds to the feeling of insanity that I'm currently experiencing watching this video. I can never retake these 14 minutes of my life. Thank you, LUOA.
Lately I have been struggling to go to sleep at night. As soon as I lay upon my bed, all the stress and worry seems to just fill my mind. I am in a constant state of tossing and turning at night. When it comes to mornings, I cannot find the energy to get up and start the day. BUT THANKS TO THIS VIDEO PROVIDED BY THE EVER SO WISE LUOA BOARD, I HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING TO SLEEP, NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS, THIS THING NEVER CEASES TO PUT ME TO SLEEP. LUOA answer times! I'm submitting this late so uh whoops but hey that'll include both parts. (I'll have my grade here once it is graded) 87.5! (I'm also fixing a few mistakes that the teacher has pointed out) Purpose (but reword it so you hopefully don't get marked off for putting down what I put) The purpose of the lab is to help figure out which soils will be helpful for what. Examples being for farming or construction work. 1. 539.8g 2. 173.1 g 3. 366.7 g 4. 440 mL 5. 390 mL 6. 640 mL 7. 250 mL 8. 190 mL 9. 43% 10. .83% 11. 1.47 g per cubic cm Porosity - The percent of open space in rock regolith Regolith - Loose material on the surface of the earth Permeability - The ability of fluids to be transmitted by rock or regolith 2. Porosity will be affected by the varying size, so larger sediments will have a higher porosity whereas smaller deposits will have a lower porosity. 3. Porosity decreases when angular sediments are used since they are more tightly packed. PART 2 It's going to go in the respective orders for the numbers (I hope that made sense) Sand, Slit, Clay, Water left in the beaker, Water in soil, and I can't figure out the porosity formula for the life of me. If somebody does know the answers to the porosity be my guest! (Figured it out due to my teacher grading it! I got -8 points because of the last one, so this should get you (hopefully) to a 95.5%) Loam - 40, 40, 20, 58, 42, 42% Sandy Clay Loam - 70, 0, 30, 55, 45, 45% Sandy Clay - 60, 0, 40, 50, 50, 50% Silty Clay Loam - 0, 60, 40, 48, 52, 52% Clay Loam - 20, 50, 30, 49, 51, 51% Silty Clay - 0, 60, 40, 48, 52, 52% Clay - 20, 20, 60, 46, 54, 54% Heavy Clay - 0, 20, 80, 45, 55, 55% 1. The heavy clay was the most porous because it was the most packed together. 2. The loam was the least porous because it was looser. 3. Higher percentages of sand particles seem to make the porosity lower. 4. Loam carries all three sediments, and is a loose compound. It is also the compound that can let the water run through it quickly to get to the roots of a plant.
For all the LUOA 9th grade students - not sure if this is perfect, but I can confirm once I turn it in. On the worksheet: 4. 440 ml 7. 250 ml 8. 190 ml 9. 43% 11. 1.47g per cubic cm EDIT: Yep, I got 100. Enjoy!
