Awesome vlog mate. I roamed around those parts a coupla years back. Was surfing a place called the rock not far from rams. There were a few croc sightings that time also. I didn’t think that part of the country had swell this time of year, maybe u shot this vlog a while ago? I wanna go back next year. Safe travels mate 🤙
Thanks for watching! Yeah crocs was never something I thought i'd have to worry about in the surf haha. Yup this was all shot back in Feb, but funnily enough uploaded when we just went back for more (May). The surf definitely wasn't as good now as peak season but the east coast was dead flat. Stayed on the south coast and still got some good waves! Enjoy your time back there next year!
Hi! No there were no issues with the drone when I was there, but rules can change often. I would recommend looking up the official government websites, online forums, DJI app (or whatever drone you have). Enjoy!
@@sifurbo the east coast may be your best bet, but we actually just left Sri Lanka a couple of weeks ago from a second trip and there was still surf to be had on the south! Enjoy!
You need to head to the AA in Colombo to get a International Drivers Permit to carry with you alongside your license from your home country. Very easy to do, I was in and out in about 40mins. Definitely worth doing since the police will stop you often and if you don't have the license the only way off is a bribe (unfortunately).
I can only comment on the ones I stayed at, but surfing wombats in Midigama is definitely a good one to meet people and join their events (ping pong comp, open mic night, etc). Depending on when you visit there will be plenty of people there and you can’t go wrong 🙂 enjoy your time there!
Hope you enjoyed the video! Sri Lanka is one of our favourite countries, we hope it's inspired you to travel there too!

Fabulous, looks like a great place for surfing, quite the adventure on the accommodation lol.
The surfing is amazing in Sri Lanka, haha it's the small things that make the accommodation memorable !

How do you get a license to drive?
