Oh my! Her statement about one group judging and one group praying- my exact experience! And sitting in church, tears pouring down my face as I realized GOD and GRACE! One of the very first songs sung was Amazing Grace- My Chains Are Gone, to this day I cry every time I sing the song with hands lifted high!.

I enjoyed this very much, when we left the meetings know one reached out and we felt alone and it was hurtful, but as I go on I see that this is not just me, many have had the same experience. It's sad as we know Jesus reached out in love to all. I'm finding my way and have gotten a new bible and I feel closer to God now than ever before.. Thankful for all the help from others.

Why did you bother leaving if you expected everyone to run after you? Then don't leave! Cry baby! You don't give the full story anyway. So many crying that no one contacted them. But THEY chose to leave. Move on. But none of you can, can you? You have to make videos and share with the world about the terrible meetings for the rest of your lives. Find forgiveness and move on at the very least. Your hurt, bitterness and unforgiveness are not going to get you anywhere near Heaven. So find a new "ministry". You complain about the meetings running down other churches, then you leave and run down the meetings. How are you different then? NO different.

Laurel and Loren, thank you for being transparent and opening your hearts. How sad it is that the workers and men’s minds are so twisted. I’m so sorry.
We had meeting in our home on Wednesday nights growing up. My parents divorced when I was 17. I left meetings at that time. Dad told me “oh no you’re not young lady!” I said, “yes I am. Who are you to judge!” Dad was one of those men who groped women… many women. He had a love affair in our home, in front of my sweet mom with a woman who went to our meeting. His mother, my Granny, was so sick, she covered for him and later apologized to my mom, before Granny died. He told mom she was imagining things and tried to have her committed to a mental hospital. That means I was too, I guess, because I know what I saw. Only, I wasn’t and she wasn’t and to keep her sanity, Mom filed for a divorce.
Then after growing up in meetings all of her life, she did not know how to make it out there as an outcast. It stayed hidden in the way. No one knew why they divorced. As an older woman, I finally told one of the other women in the meetings that I love to this day and confirmed that she was one of the women dad had groped years earlier. There were many! He did that into his elderly years. No one ever said anything to him to my knowledge. In fact, as an older man, after mom died, he remarried and the workers gave him meeting in his home again. Mom disappeared from our lives for many years and at one time was homeless. She finally got her life together and became the woman I knew my beautiful mother to be and we were very close at the end of her life. She was always beautiful to me! It makes me cry to know how you both have been treated and the mental aspect for you, Laurel. I wish I could hug you both. I’m so glad God gave us the real truth in our hearts and we followed it with courage!
    Love from my heart, Elizabeth

I wish these interviews were up years ago when I was starting to attend the church I go to now. There’s so much I have in common when having a-ha moments once you hear doctrine that is different. Specifically in this interview, the idea that Jesus has already won the battle-this was so contrary to what we were taught, but so reassuring once I realized that it is indeed what the Bible says! Thank you for providing friends with stories in common

Thank you David Alink for your series of interviews with wonderful people such as Loren and Laurel. My wife and I live in New Zealand and have been so blessed to watch and listen to these testimonies of people being saved out of false religions into brought into relationship with God through faith in our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Years ago I left the Roman Catholic church and for a long time felt that I was in danger of losing my eternal salvation. God is so good, He persisted with my weakness and drew me into a loving relationship. Now I see His hand of blessing constantly at work and give Him thanks for the small but wondrous things He does. May God richly bless you and your dear wife. Don

Really enjoyed this interview. Laurel, I hope we get to meet in person some day. We've had some contact way back when we were homeschooling. Then the quilt swap with Stitches in Thyme. We have two of your creations that we display in our home. And knitted dishcloths! And we weren't far from you last year when we went to what turned out to be our last convention, at Chugwater, of all places, with friends from Wyoming. We had those same, glance at each other and go, "what?" moments there. We left meetings entirely soon after. And rejoice in the liberty in Christ and God's gift, through grace, and our faith in what Jesus accomplished on the cross.

8,000+ views in 7 days. Your story wants to be heard. And thank you for sharing names. People need to hear how cases like yours were handled and by who. My guess is very few cases were not reported to the workers. That means that the 700 (?) perps have been reported 1,000's of times to the same few head workers. The perps are responsible for their actions. The workers, IMO, are responsible for it happening more than once. I hope others come forward after hearing your story. Not all victims are children.

Hello from Germany. I left the Roman Catholic church in my early twenties to join a community of the brethren. There was spiritual abuse but because of my difficult family background I could not stop this as I would do today. My husband was an elder but I left with my children to go to other church meetings on sunday. It was a gard decision for me because I thought that the community and god were the same. My feelings were that it would cost me all even God. It was a surprise for me that God spoke to me at other places too. My husband left a few weeks later with me.
Yes God is so much bigger. Thank you for your testimony. Be courageous to share it again and again. Blessings.❤

Great video. I grew up in the truth in the southern US but never professed. I really never bought in to the truth and was always taking back by being told this is the only way to get to heaven by my parents. My moms family has been in the truth for a few generations. My parents and other family still go to meeting every Sunday and Wednesday. I watch my younger brother and all my younger cousins profess at convention. I always had questions that no one could answer and I always felt that I was not supposed to ask. I stopped going to meetings as soon as I could. I felt like in a lot of special meetings from the time I was 13-18 that the workers were there just to try and preach to me and to get me to profess. I am a very head strong person and was never ever even close to professing. I started to just tell them they were wasting there time but just sat through it. I hated it and would beg my mom and dad to let me go to a church with my friends and they never gave in and I stood my ground as well. I do have a relationship with God but for along time I am not sure I really believed in anything. For along time when I was asked about going to church I would always say I was taking time off for time served. I feel like “the truth” and the way my situation was handled kind of burnt me on any organized religion. I don’t want to sound like it’s terrible because it’s not they are some really good people in the truth and I still see and talk to some of them every week or so, it was just not for me. Thanks again for your content.

Thank you for your videos and sharing this story. I totally agree with how some of these groups believe "Forgiveness means sweeping it under the rug" I do not belong to a church and haven't in my four years of following Jesus and visiting several local churches every Sunday. I did study with a pretty conservative group of followers and am seeing some of the same legalism. I don't believe Jesus ever asked of these things or required it for our salvation. I have been torn trying to be part of some of these churches because of man's teachings vs. Jesus teachings. I just can't stay and fellowship when I know this is not what Jesus taught. It can be very lonely to follow Jesus but I know that He will bring me true followers to fellowship with, it can't be forced, It's what I pray for. I now know that my salvation is in Jesus only and I have been added to His church that He said He would build, not a 501c3, man made institution, who pays a preacher to preach. Jesus is my only teacher, Rabbi and I listen and follow the guidance of the helper, the Holy Spirit that He said He would send. That being said, my husband and I read the Bible together, worship together and pray together and we find that is the best way for us right now. Jesus will bring us what we need when He decides. Praise Jesus always, love and blessings to my brothers and sisters in Christ.

How does one become a " worker"? What are the qualifications?

    • @daykasays2922

There are no real qualitifications. They believe they are called by God so don't need any qualifications.

The hymns are pretty morbid as the words are changed. When I told my dad about Dean Bruer he said, that's to bad he was a great hymn writer.

David, I'm enthralled with your content and you present so well in each and every video you post!(that I've viewed so far.)Anyway, I was curious about your channel name David Alink, I am assuming that is your sir name. But then I thought a bit more and said to myself "that could be a made-up name" A link(which is a perfect channel name!)Because absolutely every channel out there, constantly links with other sites of similar subect matter. So, which is true, real or, made-up?

They believe they are the only ones saved!! Works, and then, only if you are lucky. They don't believe in the gift of eternal life thru Jesus shed blood.

As far as Bible versions…. Over 30 years ago, someone gave me a Newberry Bible, which is KJV with corrections/alternate readings. From that, I learned the KJV was not perfect and without error.
More recently, I have begun to read The Scriptures (Institute for Scripture Research). Another excellent translation of the second part of the Bible is called The Messianic Writings translated by Daniel Gruber. It has lots of interesting notes and explanations. I highly recommend these two.
I have recently been exposed to the 1560 Geneva Bible, which is apparently what the Pilgrims and others of that time period read. Someone is reading it aloud online, comparing it to the Hebrew and also a modern translation. I want to get a copy of the 1560 Geneva Bible. It is quite interesting.
Another that is a literal translation is Young’s literal translation. I bought a copy. It was affordable. The reason is the print is so small and the format so crammed in, that it’s difficult to read.

I ordered a Geneva bible and it was the same as a NIV and none of the omitted chapters or books... I was really disappointed.
I've since ordered a the book that is totally those books. .. I've not started on it yet, but will.

Matthew 18:20KJV…For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
God’s relationship with every person is PERSONAL. Two can be you and God, can be this couple with God, or could be more people gathered together studying God’s scriptures.
The situation this couple went through could be the best thing that ever happened to them in their life. They aren’t people pleasers, but want to do the right thing to please God.
The Bible says in John 3:7KJV…Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Your first birth is a water birth (your mother’s womb), the second birth is spiritual birth (spiritually baptized into the body of Christ).
Simple presentation of the Gospel….1-Every person is a sinner Romans 3:10,11,12KJV 10-As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: 11-There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12-They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Romans 3:23KJV…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
    2-The price of sin….
Romans 6:23KJV…For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Revelation 20:14KJV…And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (The price of sin).
3-Jesus Christ paid our sin debt. Romans 5:8KJV….But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
4-We sinners must receive Jesus Christ by an act of faith.
Romans 10:9,10KJV…9-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10-For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13KJV…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I absolutely loved this video, and hope for God’s abundant blessings on the presenter and this lovely couple.❤❤❤

Your videos are such a one sided affair. You not interested in anything else but your narrative and if one doesn't agree, you just delete the message. I can see these folks must be super happy in their new church with all the things they still don't agree with even there. Good luck, been there, done that!
