    Samantha - I just want to say THANK YOU!! for your videos and this one in particular! I've just started using Affinity Designer and although a different package, by following your approach and tips I managed to successfully import and cut out my pattern, without tears and with hair still left on my head! You are a star!! I love all your designs and the quality of all your work. You are an inspiration! (And I'm twice your age!!). Many thanks again

    Hey there! I'm on the site you recommended, trying to choose the right PVC free vinyl, and curious if you use the permanent or removable matte! Thanks for all of your help and tutorials! It's really been a game changer for me. x

    Ok, I’ve thrown myself into a new process for stained glass patterns! I love learning something new! I have photoshop and my cricut should arrive Saturday! 😂 I know this is a lot to ask… but I’m having a difficult time with the steps to upload a stained glass pattern that I bought from Etsy and then transforming on photoshop it to be able to cut on the cricut machine. I’m new to photoshop and using the cricut. Do you happen to have a video or could you make a video on how to prepare a pre-made pattern on photoshop then to cricut? Thanks in advance !

      Yay for getting a cricut! I'm not a total expert, so you might have to experiment a little. So, if you have a pre-made pattern, print it out with a normal printer and measure the thickness of the pattern line, if it's about 1mm, then you're good. You can simply upload the file to cricut's design space app, and remove the background (make sure you resize it to it's correct size).
      If the pattern lines are too thin or too thick, you can open the pattern in Photoshop, use the magic eraser tool to remove the background, then double click on the layer in the "layers" tab to the right to add a few pixels stroke to the outside or inside of the pattern lines. (If you have illustrator you could probably just convert the pattern to a vector and adjust the line thickness?)
      I don't know if there's an easier way to go about it.

    Is there a way to use print and cut on the Cricut that will print the pattern with the numbers printed too rather than number afterwards

    • @SamanthaAshleyGlass
      @SamanthaAshleyGlass  Місяць тому +1

      @@PatriciaWilson-e4c I don't know too much about the Cricut yet, but I believe you can have it draw and number the pattern with a marker, then have it cut with the blade

    Hi! I just bought a cricut today for the first time, what were you doing with having your ipad over the machine. Is it bluetooth connection? Is the system an app or on a web browser? Thanks!!!! ❤

      You can have your Cricut connect with Bluetooth or USB. I use the Bluetooth setting with my tablet. You have to download the Cricut design space app.

    Hi Samantha!
    I’m wanting to purchase a cricut and software to make, print/cut patterns for my stained glass projects. Could you tell me what cricut machine you use and what software. Thanks for the help! I love your videos and TikTok’s!

      Hi! I personally use the Cricut Maker 3. I use Adobe Photoshop to design my patterns, then I upload them to cricut's design space app.

    Can the Cricut import vector images as well as raster? I’m new to stained glass and so far have been making my designs as vector images, which allows me to change the scale without affecting the image’s resolution.

    What type of vinyl do you use for sticking the pattern right on? Cricut brand? Also have you tried sticker paper?

    • @SamanthaAshleyGlass
      @SamanthaAshleyGlass  6 місяців тому

      I use PVC free vinyl from eco-friendly crafts. I did get some sticker paper to try, but I haven't tried it yet, cause most of the time I just trace my patterns with cardstock.
