I am glad this is happening... I travel from Jorhat to Pune and I used to skip Guwahati for direct flight because of the small airport without facilities and opt for Kolkata instead with 4.5 hours layover. Now I am happy that next time I can just take direct flights and save time.
I study in IITG and whenever I come back from end-sem holidays, taximen frequently complain about the exorbitant parking fees which is ruining their business, they then pass this cost to us, the customers. The modernization is appreciated but please think about decreasing the fees.
How much is the fees?
I think this is the direct impact of Revenue generation and as airports are used by publics so i think there is no wrong public contributing some more towards revenue generation. If u are thinking of the parking fees of the airport then people can take the alternative route of Railways as a cost cutting initiative

As an resident of assam we want more sustainable type concept of Guwahati LGB airport like the Bangalore airport as it is the whole gateway of north east India
I have supervised the Fabrication & erection of Entire Roof Steel Structure from FEB 2020 to Dec 2023 as Senior Engineer, AECOM, PMC . It is really a challenging task and a beautiful structure.

Before Adani, LGB airport was fine, but now it's remaining same as it was. Only 2-3 more stalls are established 😂 but parking prices increased like sky rocketing.
The reason why adani took the ghy airport is because its profitable. Only few airport are profitable , so government are selling all the profitable airport and parking is fillied with non Assamese labour brought from outside, the same could have developed by government its nothing lets see if Adani take a project a loss making airport

Bruh, parking is EXPENSIVE EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD. It is the PRIMARY INCOME SOURCE in airports for corporations.
Need to upgrade the other regional airports of Assam too such as Tezpur, Jorhat etc and better connectivity with more airlines

Sir please please please please please make it international airport, as you know entire northeast we doesn't have single international airport
It’s already recognised as international even some of the airlines initiated initially but could not continue their service b’coz of less international flyers. North east still lack behind in terms of business.
@@shivakohli9966 Exactly! People think running an International Airport is easy! No it needs money & if not either it incurs losses or State govt funds it or pay more Airport Devlopment Tax. You just can't force it to be international, if there aren't enough passengers to support it. No airline will open an international connection to satisfy that, if the number doesn't support it.
@shivakohli International flights will resume from the Guwahati airport in near future because of semiconductor manufacturing in Assam (plant will be setup near Guwahati).
Respect increased for Adani
SUGGESTION: don't limit this to a Concrete Building, make it Beautiful like Bangalore Airport 💯
& Maybe give the compound a Natural Aesthetic look.
