I just wish this new lude had more angular lines and a long low slung hood so it looks like a "Prelude".

Had a prelude for about 6 years. Spent sometime in the shop. The A/C was a bit underpowered for Texas summers. I loved it. Drove it straight through from north of San Francisco to Austin with zero issues. I drive a ‘22 mustang gt these days. I wouldn’t go back from my Stang to my prelude but my prelude was still one of my favorite cars. Bummer about the lack of a manual in the new one.
yeah the powertrain is going to be disappointing. They are just going to recycle the same 1.5l four banger from the civic si. It will look pretty on the outside but will have a generic motor.

If this uses the same hybrid system as the Civic/Accord then at speeds under about 45 it is a serial hybrid where all the gas engine does is power a generator to drive the electric motor. All "shifting" from 0-45 is fake. Then above 45 or so there is a direct connect from the gas engine to the drive wheels with no gears at all. So I'll be very curios what the heck this S+ is.

All these comments saying wishing for a manual crack me up. In the US at least, the demand for a manual is nearly non-existent. Less than 2% of 2024 cars are offered with one, and there is a reason... Almost no one wants it, so it does not make any sense to spend the development $ on it. These car makers are building cars for the masses, not the 100 people who might want a stick.
I'm excited! I am going to be saving up for this car. The only thing I really need is a good audio system. I know honda has been using that new bose system but I dont know if thats enough 😅

Admittedly, I kinda feel like they're missing the point here. This sector is dominated by simple, 4 cyl, rear wheel drive cars for 30k ish. It's a small segment to be shoving a confused model in that some may not even remember. I think it's gonna be a tough sell for a lot of showrooms. Too bad honestly, the designers did a great job with it's exterior and I'm sure the interior will have that new Honda interior we've seen in the current gen Civic. Color me cautiously pessimistic.

Love the host's 1987 Prelude that he picked up in 1998. Sadly, Honda would discontinue the Prelude in 2001. I knew a couple guys with brand-new Preludes back in the late 1990s. Honda cut the cord at its height--which it also did to the Integra, CRX, NSX and the Legend. Not quite sure why Honda does that.
Hybrids are basically never manual. Only exception I can think of is the original Insight. Getting the integration to work with an unpredictable human is just too difficult.
Honda has so much more potential if they honestly just made it as a much stronger car. Just imagine the same Civic Type R engine as a manual, but instead is RWD. That will be a competitor to the Celica and BRZ.

The only thing that may have a chance of getting me to buy a new car by choice at this point would be a new rotary powered manual trans Mazda sport coupe to daily next to my RX-7 show car. More torque, some CTR parts in the suspension, and better mpg? Unfortunately, as much as I would consider the Prelude given my current lifestyle (10th Gen Si owner) there's still not a lot known about that car to really give an idea on what the full hook is. Heck, for all we know, it'll handle amazingly and have a good 0-60 time, but gotta wait and see.
I hope they drop the hammer head design. Ferrari did it..that’s fine but the trend is weird. If they keep it simple like the civic or accord headlights it’s a win. Other than that everything looks good
