This is on my Spring pre-launch list to rebuild. While I was trying to anchor last summer in Newport RI, as a thunder squall was bearing down, the motor actually broke off the housing and I found it hanging from its power cables. I empathize with you on getting that thing unstuck. It took me a day. Thanks for the helpful video.
Thanks, luckily there are only like 3 or 4 smallish pieces and they managed to stay on board. That key did go flying into the anchor locker but it was easy enough to find. Haha
@@reidbrown4646 haha we do have a wire stripper but it's terrible. We just need a better one because we've found it difficult to use on that tiny gauge wire.

Way to have patience in taking the windlass apart! Good thing you didn't lose any parts overboard.

I spy a hatchet being used to pry, and last episode it was a utility knife as a wire stripper.
