Very informative video. I’m in the same process right now, and your video is helping me. I’ve subscribed, and look forward to watching your other videos. Thanks again.
Hi guys, Another great video! I really enjoy them all. I’m not sure why you put the videos out, as it must add to what was already a time-consuming task, but I (along with many others, I’m sure) really appreciate it. The series gives me much better confidence for the future boat-life my wife and I plan. All the best, and thank you. Chris
Thank you for your kind words. I hear so many people say they can't do projects like this; I just want to prove to them that they can. Making the videos is a way of showing that if you take your time and are methodical, everyone can fix up and maintain an older boat.
I really-really like your videos. You have a very nice way about you, your knowledge, experience, communication style & grace, along with professionalism are to be commended. Thank you and keep them coming. What marina or part of the country are you in? How many months/time do you spend aboard and what cruising grounds? Again, thank you. Happy, healthy and safe New Year. God Bless you both.
Wow, Thank you for the amazingly nice complement. Historically, we have been spending about 5 months a year in the Bahamas, and then during hurricane season, we head north. Every other year we go to the Chesapeake Bay area, and the alternating years we go to Brunswick and stay in a marina to do projects. Chicory is our only home. We are full-time cruisers.
Super helpful and amazing video. Thank you so much for all the efforts!!! What size and length of chain did you use for the 3500? Also what gear oil did you use? Thanks much
All our colored webbing was of the same thickness. The black webbing we had was thicker, and we wanted to test the different thicknesses and how they wear over time. I agree a bright color would be better; we just used what we had on the boat.
Have you had any experience with a chain counter? Or do you know someone who has one and their experience with the counter? I'm in the process of a new build and have asked for a chain counter. Thanks
Thank you again! You saved me so much grief having to figure out the proper steps in taking the Maxwell apart.
They are built and designed well for servicing, except for the addition of gear oil. Good luck with your project.

Fantastic Videos, Thanks!

Nice. I hope when I buy one of these someday that has been maintained as well as this one. 😊
Maintaining a boat in top condition is a big commitment. Most people cut corners or defer maintenance. I wish you good luck in your search.
Not likely

Thank you for your question. We have 300 feet of 3/8 chain. We used 90-weight gear oil for the case.
: thank you so much
Enjoyable boat yoga. Has been my profession for 40 years. Great job. 😀
Thanks for noticing my boat yoga moves.
Interesting marking system. Curious as to why you chose black at 100’ vice a more visible color?

So how are they holding up, one year later?

I have several friends with chain counters and think they are awesome. I wish I had one!
You need a lesson in stopping making old man grunting noises
Thank you for your comment. Funny, that's what Tracy says all the time.
