hot tip: Cover your Vortech wave makers with the foam when introducing new anemones. They will always find themselves in it. MP60 + Anemone = Soup.

Thanks for the video @VividAquariums. Your earlier videos with the big magnifica anemone in the display tank inspired me to get one. Such a great addition to the tank, especially for my maroon clownfish. I kept reading that they were difficult, but all seems well. When I first put him in the tank, he kept moving and climbing up the glass to the water line. So to trick it, I rearranged the rocks and built a peak and put him there, so he's close the water line, but gets that cliff feel.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I bought a rose bubble tip, and it hid under a rock ledge and then closed up. Your video helped me stay relaxed, and now it is out and looking happy.

i've heard stories of anemones being teared up by the wave makers while they are moving looking for the right spot, how can u prevent this? if you take the wavemaker out while the anemone is searching where to ancher and then put it again in the tank the flow might make the anemone move again?

Hi Dave, I just got a Long Tentacle Anemone and its has been in my tank for about a week now. It refuses to plant itself and if I turn on the pumps in my tank he will actually "fly" around the tank.. so I have cut my pumps off and run with just the minimum flow etc for a week now to try and get him, her, it? (lol) to plant its foot somewhere in the sand.. Now I do have a course sand bed, its mixed sand and shell its not real fine white sand...should I add a thick layer of white soft sand for it?

you will most likely have an answer to this but for anybody else wondering about the same thing: Saltwater from the fish store is fine as long as you know what salt they are using, what salinity they mix to, do they use RO/DI, Reverse Osmosis only or plain old tap water mixed in with their salt. what you should do when getting salt water from the fish store is test it for everything, phosphates NO3, ammonia, salinity, acidity, KH (carbonate hardness). In doing that you'll know what you're dealing with and what changes you need to make to make it apply to your aquarium. I use water from my fish store, they showed me which salt they use and told me they use RO (but not RO/DI I think). So I use the same salinity as they supply, buffer my acidity to the correct level. I hope this helps somebody :)

Nice video. I have a Sebae anemone with a mixed pair of clownfish hosting in it.
I bought this threesome together, hence why I have a mixed pair, a Perc and an Occ (they have paired and I beleive they will still be a functional mates). The LFS where I purchased my mates, when I asked about target feeding the anemone said not to bother. Also, the anemone is white with purple tips - beautifull! It seems that it shouldn't really be white, is it cause its hungry? I have a 55gal tank, ph 8.2, amm 0, nitrite, 0, Nitrate at btw 0-5ppm. SG 1.025, everything else seems good. Livestock; clown pair, coral banded shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, 3 trochus snails, a lawnmower blennie. ( Assorted worms, and small life on the live rock of course, the CBS loves eating the worms as they appear).
