I absolutely lost my mind when you started painting the curtains... so simple my wittle mini painter brain couldn't handle something that simple but effective. Great diorama and way to share your work.
you're an excellent cobalt keep brand ambassador. Just bought a 4-pack of the cases for my nighthaunt using your discount code. I've been looking for something like this for months now. I was going to just grab some sheet metal and stick it in some of the stackable plastic bins I bought for my magnetized minis, but these are so much nicer and allow me to actually display my army at home. Even better, it's basically the same price as doing the DIY solution. Really looking forward to getting mine. I hope they make bigger ones soon so that I can store like a whole army in one :P
The quality of this channel ist mindblowing. You guys definitely need some more attention. It’s pretty rare, seeing such a constant rise of quality. Greetings from germany
Really looking forward to more Malifaux content. I just got into the game myself and I’m happy one of my favorite creators is showing off how cool this game is
EDIT: Cobalt Keep is AMAZING! Turns out it was a billing issue with shipping provided. They worked with me to resolve it and I am a happy customer again! Hopefully future orders into Canada will be much better for everyone! Old Comment Awesome Video! I was blown away by the painting of the curtains. I saw these awesome Cobalt Keep Display cases and decided to order a set of 6 singles for a project I have been working on. BUYER BEWARE! If you live in Canada, the shipping + Tariffs will be more expensive than whatever you order! Like, almost twice as expensive! DON'T ORDER FROM COBALT KEEP INTERNATIONALLY!
Man not only I love the content and all the extremely stuff I learn, but you also deliver it in this friendly and hilarious way, you guys have a true talent!!! Keep it up and thx for all the vids!!!
i have plans to do a pirate ship and a viking long boat out of popsicle sticks. definitely a fun and different project than your typical mini project. it is a daunting task because of the size and detail of the ships. but the excitement and accomplishment i will feel once i finish the is whats keeping me going.
this is what I have been looking for: a better way to display my trophy minis that is contained. (those cases sure seem to love fingerprints, but we will figure it out)
Finally got onto EoB Complete 😭 I love that display case Jay, makes me want to try something similar with my Blood Bowl team and my future malifaux minis
Every time I come back to this video (5 times now) i want you to add led wired footlights to the foreground. Amazing work, now my Malifaux minis are jealous.
They're amazing bro. Honestly you have came such a long way in the time I've watched your videos. I mean maybe you've always been this good, but honestly I think you have just honed the techniques you use a lot, and also have a very good handle on your colour theory. These are breath taking, I love them.
One way to improve this in my opinion is to stagger the floor boards. If you look at actual flooring - every next row of boards is usually staggered my 1/3 or 1/2 of the board length. This is actually done for structural stability, because otherwise you get a weakness like at the end of the board.
a useful tip for gluing down larger things. use nonstick baking paper as an inbetween later that you put down ontop of the glue and slowly remove from under the thing you are gluing once you have lined up the thing you are gluing
As someone who works for walgreens photo, a picture of a brick wall with a drape is definitely one of the least weird things I've seen in my time there.
Thanks for doing this video especially with Malifaux. Been looking at cobalt keep's stuff for my teams and will definitely buy some! And that is an insanely cool idea for the backdrop!
Malifaux is, by far, more strategic than big army games where every unit can essentially move or shoot. Each model has abilities which affect how things play and individual models interact with terrain in ways that large squads cabinet
It turned out great although I would have simply used wood varnish on the chopsticks layered with paint in the middle and called it a day and probably used some real fabric for the curtains. Probably because I prefer doing diaramas to display than display cases
I hope you the best. Most 40k players can’t play malifaux. It’s way too big brain for them. It is one of the best games and needs a lot more game strategy. There aren’t really “net lists”. You will need multiple crews because few crews can be take all comers (no crew really). I would love to see more malifaux content. And I am totally buying some of these cases. Only wish I had seen it when I could support you with the code.
As usual, excellent production in making something uninteresting (to me) very interesting! You are quickly edging out your more veteran miniature channel competition Jay! - Excellent presentation - You even make your in-video ads interesting; I watched it in its entirety (really rare for me) . Your sponsor should be proud. - I was surprised that you are into Malifaux- until this video showed me that you are left- handed. LoL…
Teehee, got into EoB Complete! :D Also, the display case is an awesome idea. We're getting a glass cabinet this week, and I think adding some of those "nice things" ("it's nice to have nice things" xD) to it. :)
Excellent work! Does the magnetization still work satisfactorily after adding the separation of the wood sticks? I was thinking there was no other choice than to use a printed texture or something for the floor to allow the magnets to still work well, but you went and added the wooden sticks, so i wonder if that still works
omg i really like this!!!! totes wanna get one of these to try something like this now. also would you say the best way to do this while keeping it as a magnetic carry case function would be to cut holes in the display base or add magnets/metal plates on top of the floor?
So rad! I will definitely check out cobalt keep for those display cases. Would love to do one for my Mines of Moria LOTR set I plan to display. Can I ask what video editing program you use for the montage at the end with your final project? I'm looking to do some short, little highlight videos of my finished minis for my instagram. Thanks for all the great content! Always a joy to watch :)
Tips for basing Neverborn? Thinking of getting the Pandora box and I'm having difficulty deciding on a basing scheme for display. Part of me wants a wet cobblestone street for the kind of "Jack the ripper" my usual cobblestone method doesn't work for the inset Malifaux bases.
Wanted to get back into painting/collecting, but wasnt sure were to start again. I'll be borrowing these ideas to just do small projects. Thanks for the ideas/inspiration.
I absolutely lost my mind when you started painting the curtains... so simple my wittle mini painter brain couldn't handle something that simple but effective. Great diorama and way to share your work.
The case turned out great, but can you teach that cleanup technique where the mess just disappears? Might come in handy.

I really liked how you added to the atmosphere by adding music
The quality of this channel ist mindblowing. You guys definitely need some more attention.

Greetings from germany
thanks! really appreciate the kind words
"Everything in Malifaux is pretty and slightly evil" - SOLD!
Really looking forward to more Malifaux content. I just got into the game myself and I’m happy one of my favorite creators is showing off how cool this game is
The b roll in this is your best yet. Great work!

Good work, especially for the effort to push yourself to just PAINT. It’s a hard wall to get over sometimes

You're going to LOVE Malifaux. It's my favourite game, but my friends want to play 40K so I'm stuck with that -_-
this is what I have been looking for: a better way to display my trophy minis that is contained.
(those cases sure seem to love fingerprints, but we will figure it out)
Finally got onto EoB Complete 😭
I love that display case Jay, makes me want to try something similar with my Blood Bowl team and my future malifaux minis
That is so awesome! I would love to have all my minis displayed like that in various sized boxes, each with their unique backdrop.
I LOVE the paint jobs man amazing work, also more NON-GW stuff plz =)
Every time I come back to this video (5 times now) i want you to add led wired footlights to the foreground.
Amazing work, now my Malifaux minis are jealous.
Good job, brother! It all came to fruition and had the best call-backs to techniques and skills you have in stock.

Cool idea with the backdrop .......... now to find something in Tyrannid!

Haven't gotten to the stage build yet but I love that preparation music!
Edit: Now that I have finished the video... Damn that looks good!
This looks awesome. The extruding bases work like little stagespotlights XD. Please please make more malifaux
As someone who works for walgreens photo, a picture of a brick wall with a drape is definitely one of the least weird things I've seen in my time there.
Taking a photo and painting over it, wow man. that is pure genius. I would have never in a million years thought of that myself.
This was a great project!
A good idea might be to 3d print some props to add to it, sand bags, ropes, costume trunk, etc.
I think I'll do this for my cursed city heroes...thanks for the ideas.
Wow, what’s a cool idea! Hmmmm, I’m gonna have to see if I can magnetize my resin Kromlech bases…
Looks great! Ill be nicking a few bits for my ultramarines, they have gotten too strong for the bookshelf
I was kinda expecting some overhanging structure with stage lights tbh. But this looks really nice already.
This is especially great so the minis don't get dusty
Biggus Dicus 🤣 gotta love those Python references
Malifaux has great aesthetic. I would love to get into it one day. For now I have to stick with AoS, 40k and Infinity.
Using your mouse with your LEFTHAND!!!! I thought I'd seen it all.......
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural
Sweet baby Jesus that is an amazing painted crew, truly stunning and the display case does them justice.
Thanks for doing this video especially with Malifaux. Been looking at cobalt keep's stuff for my teams and will definitely buy some! And that is an insanely cool idea for the backdrop!
Oh hell Jay, I'm getting inspired. My wallet's crying out for mercy, but I want to make some sick dioramas!
Malifaux is, by far, more strategic than big army games where every unit can essentially move or shoot. Each model has abilities which affect how things play and individual models interact with terrain in ways that large squads cabinet
Don't you love it when professional theatre skills prove useful for our hobbies? ❤
Love this so much! As a theater kid and a little bit of a magician back in the day I might have to steal this idea if I ever get into malifaux lol
I'd use the warped sticks to make loose floorboards.
"Now, I am the basing guy..." Proceeds to prove it, with accompanying banjo music.
This is splendid. I love the display case and the minis.
Now they got me wanting to do a new project....thanks eon lol.
LOOKS GREAT8 BTW
youre gang looks so good man like wow you are truly talented just phenomenal work
such a good idea! and so well done! thanks for the video
Absolutely magnificent. Question does the magnetic 🧲 bottom work through the wood?
It turned out great although I would have simply used wood varnish on the chopsticks layered with paint in the middle and called it a day and probably used some real fabric for the curtains. Probably because I prefer doing diaramas to display than display cases
Wow.... thats amaaaazing! Im about to start Malifaux and Colette is right up there as a potential first master. Thanks!
This is amazing! I would love to see more videos doing this!
yessss i have all those to paint still and you are 100% to blame for me buying them
I hope you the best. Most 40k players can’t play malifaux. It’s way too big brain for them.

Note to self, next paycheck buy these for d&d.
Thats one Awesome Display case!
Just to take it to the next level , how about a mini led strip like stage lights,
Jay looks like someone I would talk to at Lowe’s to help me fix my wooden Monster Truck.
That is an excellent case idea
A stunning show as always!
Love what you did with this. would love to see a video(s) of you painting Center Stage.
would be awesome to stack up a fantasy world or city with display cases
LOVE the case and thanks sooooooo much for the Malifaux content. Looking forward to more!
I really like this concept!
Not the an easy Crew to play you have choosen. The models are cool. Well painted!
As usual, excellent production in making something uninteresting (to me) very interesting! You are quickly edging out your more veteran miniature channel competition Jay!
- Excellent presentation

Are there magnets in your Malifaux bases? If so, do they stick through the popsicle sticks?
I was wondering this too. I would guess they wouldn’t
yep! still worked great
Teehee, got into EoB Complete! :D

yep the magnets still work
I've been thinking about doing something like this for my Krieg Kill Team, this is a great guide to work off of.
It would be cool to add some old timey footlights to 4he bottom of the display case, with actual LED lights and switched battery.
omg i really like this!!!! totes wanna get one of these to try something like this now.
also would you say the best way to do this while keeping it as a magnetic carry case function would be to cut holes in the display base or add magnets/metal plates on top of the floor?
it would be nice to make one for a blood bowl team someday! i need to make one!
Wonderful job! Shame they don’t have any local distributors in the UK
Element games does stock it, but would be nice to see it in a few more stores.
@@podwick7222 I didn't realise they did!! Wonderful news
What a beautiful crew!
Gorjus painted mini's & great idea for a stage. Have you left room for the 4 mini's from Center Stage box 😜
You should do this with your Star Wars models
Great work bro. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for pronouncing 'Coryphee' correctly
Love the cases, its exactly what I didn't know I wanted. Shame the free shipping is only in the US though!
I don’t have a joke here this is just a really cool idea
Brilliant! Great work. How do the magnetised bases work out with the spacing of the stage?
All the videos are edited in Adobe Premiere!
Hmmm what material are you going to use to base those ice ladies
Cobalt Keep cases are seriously wonderful! I have 17 of the army display cases myself. I never thought to ever customize them, though...
More non-GW minis please! Love this! (fuck GW)
This looks awesome! I love these models, I absolutely need to check this game out
Tips for basing Neverborn? Thinking of getting the Pandora box and I'm having difficulty deciding on a basing scheme for display. Part of me wants a wet cobblestone street for the kind of "Jack the ripper" my usual cobblestone method doesn't work for the inset Malifaux bases.
GW: “WOT, WOMEN?!?!?!?!”
sips tea confusedly
great work, man
I am going to send this video to my wife and see what she thinks of the cases. We each have 3 kill teams (sadly the cases come in 1 and 4 packs)
Awesome video. Do the models still stick to the base or are the sticks to thick for the magnets to work?
Wanted to get back into painting/collecting, but wasnt sure were to start again. I'll be borrowing these ideas to just do small projects. Thanks for the ideas/inspiration.
this is just genius! what a great idea for a display box!
this stage looks so good!!! Very cool project :D
Great Job! Did the base still hold the miniatures with the wood floor on?
Biggus Dickus? I have a friend from Rome with that name.
I notice these minis were mentioned in your "pile of shame" video. Wondered how close you were to clearing that backlog?
I thought you would have had some curtains on the front to add more depth.
Great work,
do figures still magnetize well, after you but wood layer beneaght?
Can you tell what magnets you are using fo figures?
the magnets still worked through the wood
Did you check that the magnets were strong enough to work through the flooring before you put it on?
Absolutely! And they are!
