I wish I knew the origin story for that xd, it might have even been found on accident. I know that the yakuza 0 arcade skip was found entirely by accident, where froob decided to go the arcade one run and realised that he didn't have to wait as long.
@@Rasburr DrTChops (the person who found it) managed to find it by accident. He got the idea when he was playing Y7, as he got the disconnected controller prompt when his wireless mouse went to sleep while playing the game and decided to test this specific Y4 scene, as it's the only scene like it in the game. There are similar scenes in Y5, but it doesn't work there as the prompt actually pauses the game.
why didnt u show a 20x speed of what the old chase used to look like in speedruns and also a 100x of the waiting in yakuza for a phone call to show visually what it is like without the strat? i feel like if someone isnt super familiar with the games its kinda hard 2 understand just how much is skipped
Bruh he literally said how much time you save on the phone calls.. also what the hell do you want him to show? Standing around for 15minutes, but sped up? Would be pretty pointless.
GOOD VIDEO very interesting and informative, do you know of any more out of bounds exploits in the yakuza games such as the one you mentioned with akiyama in y5? feels like there's hardly any to be found in the games
The yakuza 5 out of bounds is the only one that is useful for speedruns. The original yakuza 1 for the PS2 has an out of bounds skip, but as far as I know there hasn't been anything useful in terms of the speedrun. Here's a link to it if you want to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/FPQj5xaATaw/v-deo.html
@@Rasburr This is very interesting actually probably the most broken out of bounds spot in yakuza that i've seen, thanks alot! but what about any out of bounds spots that arent even useful for a speedrun but just exist or are you not aware of any?
Yes and no. You beat them the first time, then start a new game (and new speedrun attempt), and the enemies won't respawn. They will only respawn if you close the game.
How does one even find out about the suitcase scene skip

I appreciate how dense you made this video. Absolutely no filler. Really cool and insightful.
i love how not even speedruns can completely break these games. true dedication (we do not talk about problematic physics in dragon engine)
Really really high quality stuff man, amazing video!
found u off of beatingevery yakuza game in one week and ur contest is AMAZING
cool video. i laughed out loud at the last one for some reason.

I didn't consider that; thank you for the feedback!

How exactly does the makoto escort mission skip work? Do you defeat all enemies and then retry? If yes does this only work for segmented speedruns?
Yes and no. You beat them the first time, then start a new game (and new speedrun attempt), and the enemies won't respawn. They will only respawn if you close the game.
@@Rasburr that's very interesting, thank you
