This game has great stories, I was playing Alfred the great and had a Norse invader as a vassal in east Anglia, I planned a grand wedding between my first born son and his daughter for the alliance. But just as I was planning the wedding I noticed the daughter was pregnant and had the fornicator trait. I obviously couldn’t let this stand so I cancelled the wedding which started a feud between our houses. Over the next couple months his second son attempted to assassinate me so I tried imprisoning him (he rises up in rebellion) and I go face him the field. As this happens the Duke of east Anglia murders my daughter and thus I choose to imprison him (he also rises). Our forces meet at the foot of his sons castle which I had under siege as a blizzard racks the entire kingdom and our forces were so evenly matched that the fight came down to 1 on 1 knights (I like to image it was Alfred and the duke) in which I won. However I lost more troops and according would likely lose the next battle, however I had just called in my ally the king of alba who was racing down the isle of Britain with his whole army in tow even as the blizzard raged to come to my support. Eventually the duke caught me and the battle came down to 100 men on my side and 200 on his, just as I thought I would lose alba joined the battle and smashed the duke host, killing his first born son and capturing him and his second born (the one who tried assassinating me). Thus the war was won, I beheaded his second son and murdered the grandson so that all their land would past to the dukes third son who I had previously married to my daughter matrilineally. Thus all their lands are to pass onto my grandsons who are born of house Wessex.
Right? Started as Aed’s vassal in Ireland 867, spent a few years sacking, growing my forces and I’m hit with a 4k Viking force less than 10 years into playing. Buy out a few merc corps, fight off the Vikings and claim independence before taking Ireland as king. Before I could even celebrate the win I get hit with another 6k Vikings… and subsequently vassalize them. With a payment, a sway and a promotion I had a friendly 6k strong duke conquering the rest of the kingdom in my stead. My, my, my how the turn tables have!
@@Jakuzre Just how? In one save I played against the mongols. They were not even sad, when the assassins came for their khan(s). They just followed a 4yo to conquer me. It took me an entire life to save that game.
I've done two Mongol play throughs, one when I was really inexperienced and one that was my most recent play campaign. I find that they have two really big draw backs, one you have to be in the tribal era to become Genghis Khan, and two its really hard to keep together after Genghis Khan dies. Personally I really hope that paradox dedicates a whole dlc to the steppe region and to the Mongols specifically.
@@Dadecorban Oh I agree that they should be hard to play, I just think that, as this is a game, there should be ways for people who are know how to play to mitigate the downsides and that the region should just in general have more interesting things to do.
Kinda sad they didn’t include the rest of Asia on the map :/ I mean, I get it’s a huuuuuge map to begin with, but playing through the warring kingdoms would be fun
In my current campaign I am playing in the eastern side of the map. When Temujin spawned I just thought, "Let's see if we can bump him off before he really starts steamrolling everyone." The plot had a 5% chance of succeeding and yet succeed it did. He was taken out by a swarm of bandits of all things.
I'm just amazed the Pope sent him a realm priest with 22 learning. My first realm priest as a Catholic had 6 learning. I was so happy when he died until I saw that the new one had 4.
In the battle at 12:33 you also had 12 knights vs 1 of theirs. Further multiplying the whole advantage. (In a playthrough of mine I have 22 knights at dunno 200% knight efficiency with all the knights being 30+ prowess and they just shred through things (if supported by enough levies)).
Hey Zieley, you should try a Georgian game, their MAA is heavy Cavalry with a Mountain bonus, which is super OP late game, but the mountain start is at least a little challenging, since there is no farmland.
It took you nearly a third of the video to realize you needed to weaken the Mongols via multiple assassinations, when really it should have been your opening move. Cheers on the wars though. I like how you forgot your own foreshadowing with the Konni's Pursuit and were amazed at just how much of each enemy army you were killing per battle. Also, you could have placed a family member on the Sicilian throne had you been a little more patient with the Anatolikon territory and focused on Europe's boot first. You were even right next door to the target, there was no reason for you to not be the one who was carrying the entire Crusade. At the very least you could have had more of a payout to utilize when fighting Anatolikan and not had to wait to get out of debt. Love the vids. Hope I never have to send you a savefile.
Love your videos zieley, they really are the definition of top notch. Me and my friend owen watch every video so keep up the good work for our entertainment 😂

Gets you Clan gvt which has best of both and can invade and build tall. Oh man, this is great. Makes me wonder what would have happened if our last Croatian king Zvonimir wasn't murdered and the remaining aristocrats not selling out to Hungary.
I’ve been trying to get a good start with Croatia, and honestly I can say this how the average kingdom of Croatia games goes. You have to fight The bulgars, Hungarians, bavarians, and byzantines. Those wars last along time. In my Kingdom of Croatia save file Venice has taken over all of northern Italy and bits of Switzerland. A caliphate formed in Sardinia and started and invasion of the Papal States. The papacy itself is the only normal part of Italy rn. Pope started giving titles of Italy away so I naturally took them. So now I’m taking over Ashari Muslim southern Italy. The slow start of Croatia I think is what contributes to the weirdness. The balkans have always been a crazy place to begin with.
