If you're into it, please post a view review of this product. I'm a bit conflicted about it. It has a lot of nice features, but seems to be missing some obvious ones (only 1 front 15mm rod, no option for using with a VCT-14 system).

Wait so... I bought an expensive Tilta dovetail because I can't mount my Tilta LWS baseplate to anything else. But this Tilta product only accepts Manfrotto/Arca, and not the Tilta standard? I'm probably wrong about something, but this is so hard to visualize. I just bought this shoulder rig (whoops?), but I'm basically going to have to buy another one, and maybe some plates just to try it all out. Maybe there's a video I haven't seen yet showing all the standards out there... and how it all slots together.
EDIT: Sorry if it sounds like I'm whining... uh... I'm still trying to figure a lot of different things out, and its frustrating how long its taken me. Gave up for like a year or something ha.

I was thinking of getting a Polar Pro, but after watching this video, I might change my mind about getting that, and Tilta is also affordable compared to other

Same. The price & the nucleus handle is a game changer compared to 700$ polar pro rig.

Too bad you can't put the follow focus on the left side since the handle of most cameras are in the way if you have tight lenses.

Can you confirm? I have the BMPCC 6K Pro fitted to the Tilta tactical cage with LWS baseplate type VI. If I attach the rig to a tilta dovetail, will this rig then attach directly to the shoulder rig?

is the arca swiss size compatible with the Kessler Kwik Stand?

The Manfrotto/Arca quick release plate is a cool idea, but I hope Tilta makes a version that will accept the Tilta LWS camera cage bottom plate. For people who have invested in Tilta camera cages, it seems like an obvious way to create an ecosystem for Tilta products. Splitting the unit apart to mount to a Manfrotto compatible tripod is interesting, but doesn't work for me as I need the back section to support a V-mount battery, distribution system and wireless transmitter. Plus, it requires that I add yet another QR plate to my camera cage.
I'd also like to see an option that will allow for a VCT system and provide a pair of front 15mm rods instead of just one.

I was gonna buy it thinking I could just slide off my camera for the Tilta LWS bottom and slide it in this shoulder plate!? You're telling me it won't fit???

You can remove the ARCA/Manfrotto Baseplate and mount a Tilta Dovetail to easily use the system with our LWS Baseplates!

None of my Manfrotto baseplates are properly secured in the shoulder rig's receiver plate.
The shoulder rig's receiver plate lock does not cinch down to securely hold the Manfrotto plates, and they will slide right out. My temporary solution is to wedge a stack of 4 Post-It notes in the receiver channel of the receiver base to get Manfrotto plates to hold securely. Otherwise, I have to reinstall the supplied Tilta quick release plate any time I want to use the shoulder rig. BTW, the supplied plate is too thick to fit onto my DJI RS 2 gimbal, which will accept Manfrotto plates. Also, the Tilta plate is too short to allow adequate travel to balance my rigged camera on my tripod.
Why didn't Tilta just make this 100% Manfrotto compatible in the first plate?

Yeah, but if you take the shoulder pad off, that’s the thing that will most likely be holding the external battery so it’s kind of useless, I feel like I have to put another rail mount on top of this rig

It looks mostly really good but one thing I'm noticing is that it only has one 15mm rod clamp at the front rather than 2. Any reason for this? Seems very limiting

    • @davidp158
      @davidp158 Рік тому

Yes, these is a design limitation. If limited to a single rod, I'd prefer it to be on the other side...but much prefer TWO rods.

Shouldn't we be able to secure Manfrotto QR plates to the receiver base of this Tilta shoulder rig? At 00:05 it appears that you have a long Manfrotto QR plate attached.
I just received mine and the lever on the receiver base is not able to tightened down enough to secure any of my Manfrotto plates firmly. The Tilta supplied QR plate does fit onto my Sachtler FSB-6 head, but it is way too short to provide the range of travel I need to balance my tripod. The Tilta supplied QR plate is also too thick to fit my DJI RS2 gimbal, which currently IS Manfrotto QR plate compatible. There appears to be a Ronin RS gimbal at 00:49 with a long Manfrotto plate attached to the camera.
I'm hoping there is a way to adjust the tension on the shoulder rig's receiver plate. Swapping QR plates to go from tripod or gimbal to the shoulder rig is going to be very disappointing.

Update 12/21: Tilta confirmed that some of the baseplate locks were not set up correctly to securely attach Manfrotto quick release plates. I have to ship mine back for adjustment.

Hi, I bought this shoulder rig and I have a big problem with the plates. I have a manfrotto 504x (a normal manfrotto video head). At 00:58 they shoes that you can slide the shoulder rig directly on tripod head (the head in the video has the same specs as mine). But they cut the video because it does not work. They design the plate too short and the upper QR baseplate touch the tripod head and it does not side in. They answered me that there are not any problems with their design... does your shoulder rig do the same?
