Thank you for watching my video. Is there something about this machine that you would like to see video on? I will always consider ideas when there is a significant plurality of them. I have included instruction manual links in the 'description'.
I think that the needle take up spring settings are very confusing for a lot of operators...I realize that when the needle hits the material that the pulling should subside and reingage upon needle exit....but how about the tension? Make it similar to the upper tension that has been determined already based on the thickness of material and type? That's what I do...but I think there is a better explanation. And second...my new Juki 1508 handles heavy Tenara perfectly with no skipped stitches going thru 1/8 "thick patio furniture vinyl strapping at a full 9mm...however my b837 is challenged due to its age and degree of wear on its parts...mainly the whole bobbin system and the needle bar holder degree of crookedness and the bolts just don't stay tight on my timing settings....so I need to repair some things... otherwise....what are your recommendations for stitching perfectly with Tenara? I have a few tricks I will reveal in response and in addition to your expert advise. Thanks Alex
I have to say that is one of best sewing machine reviews I have ever watched. Such a precise and clear explanation of the features. Well done, Juki should offer you a job.
What a Beautiful Machine. And as usual, expertly reviewed and produced video. Thank you for taking the time. Plus your US accent really is SO wonderful.
Alexander thank you for your amazing introductory sewing machine videos. The Juki LU2810-7 is an exceptional industrial machine. But since I'm more "old school" than new, I'll stick to my PFAFF 332. Thank you for another excellent presentation!
Hi, Alexander! This is my first time I comment on your videos. This machine impressed me very much and I never imagined something like this exists. I am a simple user/home user but I would love to have a machine like this. Please keep posting awesome videos!
Just about speechless after watching this demonstration. Really looking forward to seeing how you integrate this into your projects. If you are still making heavy canvas totes and bags, that would be a great place to start.
Really nice review and beautifully filmed. You worked hard on the editing. Thank you! Essentially, this machine is getting closer to CNC sewing machines used in large scale production. Great for repeatability of certain tasks without operator error. There are so many functions, it starts to be difficult to remember them all! I have a home machine (Bernina Artista 730) and the computerized functions are amazing: buttonholes, lettering, little patterns and even embroidery with an attachment.
Alexander, that’s similar to the Juki that I love. Thank you for showing this machine. It’s a Rolls Royce version of the usual great Juki that you show. This machine is absolutely incredible. Your videos are better than ever! Keep it up, my friend. I think this is my new favorite machine : Juki 2810-7 with Juki CP-180. I’ll be following this machine for possible sales. Is the presser foot a 3-step automatic feed ? I know I’m using the wrong term for the automatic feed, but I hope you understand what I’m asking. Once again, thanks for showing this machine.
Thanks, I think. The video is excellent and actually answers a number of questions about the machine, functionality, and productivity enhancements. It seems like a really interesting piece of equipment but I'm still trying to maximize my use of my '206' clone. Maybe when I'm old and grey, oh, wait...
don't wait. old and grey will be too late. I jumped from 206 and others into these auto machines 15 yrs ago and wish I did many years ago. Save's a lot of time and work paying it self off fast.
I have a strong preference for old (and cheap) machines, but man, I could see myself behind the wheel of one of those! I especially like the placement of the foot-lift lever (for those rare occasions you'd need it) and the alternating-foot height adjustment. Great video as always, Alexander!
I get that, in fact many many sewers like the older machines. I have found that some of the old machines are actually quite valuable. Old black Singers have made it possible for me to get stuff like this. Judging from the correspondence I get around this machine I am finding an additional set of folks interested in sewing. Thank you and great job on UA-cam and Instagram, #menwhosew.
Thanks for this video. I was not previously aware of this machine, but you easily convinced me that I have no interest in one. This level of computer control is terrifying to me. I am in process of reducing my dependence on CNC. Our small leather shop currently has six commercial sewing machines. Three are modern, one is ancient. Not a microchip in the lot. None will be added. Keep up the good work. It is helpful.
I have had a Juki 9000CF for 18 months now and I always procrastinate fiddling with its features! I wish I knew how to use it as well as you use this one and the LU 1508! I love sewing machines! Have a few of them!
Alexander Dyer Thanks for replying! This machine is marvellous, but I never have the time or patience to explore it... I also have a Jack A6F, which feels like a tractor on fabric or leather!
I run a lu1510n-7 and love it. I would love this improved beast as well. Been sewing 50yrs in the upholstery trade and will never go back to non automated. My Juki is now 13 yrs old and never a problem. I can't seem to find Double welting feet 1/4 in and single welting feet 1/4 in for this machine you have.
That is fine. I have a Durkopp Adler 867 ECO but it is not Automatic. As far as the feet go, the page I sent you to sells high quality, they are not cheap. You get what you pay for and all that. Where was the computer you are messaging me made?
Hi Mr. Dyer, I have a Viking Vanessa model 5610 that my sister-in-law gave me. The machine is basically seized up. I have the manual for it and no where in it does it say anything about oiling the machine. Since this kind work is what you do, I was hoping you could instruct me on this matter? Thank you
In 2020 our company bought two new machines JUKI 2810-A7 full automatic and other machine was Duerkopp Adler 867-190342 E2 also full automatic. DA was 35% more expensive than Juki but in this two years of owning them Juki dominates DA in every segment. In frist month on DA LED lightinig stopped to work. We got now transformator under warranty and again after few monts led lightining stopped to work. After that DA had some problems with knife for thread cutting. Many times when it first turns on, it shows some error, so it has to be turned off and turned on again. Issue was bad contact cable on machine electronics. And all that time Juki was working perfectly fine, and doing like 300% more stiches per day than DA. Now DA have a strange sound. Even the repairman doesn't know what the problem is and why it squeaks while working. He said that everything is lubricated properly, he even put new grease in the head of the sewing machine, but the noise comes from the bottom, and everything is supposedly correct below according to repairman. I am very disappointed in DA. We have had DA767 working prefectly fine for 15 years. Those were super machines.
hi, I have a similar situation. I have DA 467 automat, Juki 2210 automat, Pfaff 1245 mexanic in production. juki does his job better than anyone else, it's a pleasant feeling. DA is always a problem, there are also problems with the knife, then the reverse stroke doesn’t hit, something has gone wrong. mechanic is always at work
These are like $6,000, lol…Anyway, this is a luxury vehicle. The 2810 is a Sports car. It’s like a Hybrid Porsche. The 1541/1508 is a Muscle car with a big engine. Pound for pound, the 2810 is better than the 1541/1508; However….since they are in the same class (they’re Upholstery machines neither are Harness Stitchers like the 441) everything the 2810 can sew, so can the 1541/1508. The 2810 is mostly about creature comforts and being an evolution of sewing machine operations as a whole with pneumatic air functions. IMO the 1541/1508 is the last and best pure analog, MECHANICAL upholstery grade Walking Foot.…the best revisions of a near 100 year old design hailing from the The Singer 111w. The 2810 isn’t "purely" mechanical and relies on Pneumatic functions to move around as opposed to the user lifting heavy levers and overall dealing with the clunkiness of a 111w style machine. They’re for different people. I prefer Godzilla (1508/1541), personally. The design is a 100 years old and they can be ran hard...Nobody really knows what the 2810’s will look like 10 years from now. Imagine trying to fix the pneumatic computerized stuff in a 2810 yourself lol It’s a DA 867 clone that is probably built better than the Durkopp and cheaper, if you’re in the market for a 867, it’s a no brainier purchase. The extra throat size is nice, but long arm 1541/1508’s are available also. Excellent video as always.

That’s a really cool sewing machine Alexander. Unfortunately I wouldn’t want to deal with it’s complexity. Reminds me of a fancy German car; awesome when it’s working, but if something goes wrong....oh boy!
True enough but honestly many can't keep a simple home sewing machine going. Broke is Broke. I have done some troubleshooting on this one and so far I have found it to be pretty nice to work on. There is a lot to be said of simplicity though and I will keep some of those types of machines too. I like to have a variety LOL.
Alexander, thank u for your videos... always informative and I look forward to more... you got me interested in the Juki 1508 .... I found an early (assembled in Japan )model ... very solid.... even though I had issues w my Juki 2810... thanks again
We have a lu-1510n-7 and the computer on it is a cp-180 I dont know why when I'm sewing it kinda of locks and the bottom thread knots on me. Sometimes it may continue to see but most of the time I have to cut off the bobbin thread to remove the peice of item that I'm sewing we got these as rentals with no instructions manual on the machine. I found the manual for the computer but not the machine itself. Can you help me trouble shoot it. Thank you
Just bought one of these and I’m looking for a right angle binding attachment on a swing arm for it to use with 3/4 Sunbrella. I pretty new to this game and am nervous to try and retrofit something on a 5k machine but any advice or instruction would be appreciated. Tennessee attachments wants 825 for a right angle binder for this thing.
Hi All, I am new to this youtube channel. After much research and watching this wonderful video, I placed my order for this ISM. I was wondering if you have any new insights, tips or comments about this machine. It should arrive in the next two weeks.
Any thoughts on the brand Thor? Looking to buy a post bed and the Thor gc 810 is decent in price. I’m totally new to sewing and looking to do custom shoe making.
Superb video and explanation. A question if I may?.I have an LU1511N-7 with the CP180 and I see your back tack is very slow, mine is at lightning speed and so far from reading the manual for the CP180 I have not been able to change this speed. Do you know how to? Thank you!
So it has been some time since I had that. I updated the links in the description and added the "Engineer's Manual". Go find that and you can adjust your machine's behavior in ways that you didn't know existed. It is kind of cryptic but it is all there. Enjoy.
Some things will and some things won't. You can buy a version from the dealer that does not have all the automation and that one does not require air or the computer. Most machines that have all these automations start out as a manual machine onto which are added solenoids and air pistons and computers and switches to control it all. Options
Those shoes are the best. It's too bad Merrell won't keep one of those mesh models around for any extended period of time. I have the exact same pair, but they are wearing out, and of course, discontinued.
Seems the best model of anything is quickly replaced. I feel your pain with my discontinued favorite work pants, which is what drove me to industrial sewing machines...sometimes it works out for the best ;-)
Hey Alexander, good to see another upload from you. I see you finally got a 2810 and you got the European version instead of the North American version. The North American version has the Singer 111W style of feet. I haven't been able to find inexpensive optional feet for your version of that machine but i have been bugging Juki to lower their prices on them. glad your happy with this awesome machine.
Do you have access to or own a DDL8700? With everything that's going on, I've been selling a lot of those machines for masks. If you had time, maybe do a video on it?
Alexander, would it be possible to make a video with this beast showing how slow it can go? Just wondering how slow it could go when going around corners while stitching leather. Thank you so much for the videos you make!
My “Dealer” 😂😂😂 has a Juki LU 2210N (not the 7) that he’s about to refurbish. I do mostly bags using sailcloth and am heading towards vinyls and leathers. I also make and repair sail and blade bags. I can’t find much info on the machine. Any info I should be aware of before I make a decision?
Thread size is project and user specified. A rough thread size range for the 1510 is tex 69 to tex 210. Thread and needle sizes should match. tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
Alexander, questions for you: if you had to choose between the 1508 or the 2810-7, which one would you choose?? Do you need to add a speed reducer to the 2810? I see you can backtack one stitch at a time, can you forward stitch one at a time as well??
The 2810's are physically bigger which I like and super smooth. I would take the 2810 but having said that any of the processes you describe can be made available on either frame with the right computer and motor. I don't need the speed reducer with the right motor. Maybe you would. IDK
It is possible on either frame, stitch by stitch is a function of the computer and motor. It is a premium feature and therefore not cheap, contact a local dealer. If however cost is the consideration watch this for a description of servo motor operation and I find this satisfies most people's needs. ua-cam.com/video/9JgGIk7WBE4/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for your information sharing. Safe to assume the 2810-7 can be used for thicker leather as well without issue? Any other adjustments for leather use that you could suggest? Add walking foot, what range of needle sizes could be used on this beast? Sewing thru 1/2 inch of leather should be possible?
Been searching for an hour on how to thread and install the darn bobbin. Not one video argh!!! Was hoping you would have it but skipped right over that part.
Most of the actuators that perform the various automated functions are air driven. I could be wrong but I don't believe that this unit has a manual knee operated foot lift available but there is a manual hand operated foot lift. I would probably advise you to consider another machine or purchase a small pancake air compressor to go with it. They are around $150 for a decent one.
Very nice videos you share with us - thanks. Will you please show the back side of the sewing. Is it nice? I work in leather and need nice sting/sewing at all times. Is that possible?
The sewing is nice but there is an issue with the automatic thread cutter and holder which causes a bit of a bunch at the beginning of each stitch. One could bypass the auto thread cutter or just get the manual version of the 2810.
@@AlexanderDyer Thank you very much for your time I was just very surprised that my dealer was unable to make it look nice. Thanks a lot now I know what to expect.
Hi I have this sewing machine at work is brilliant but why first stitches are really loose and loopy? When I do back tags she leave lots of cotton on back.
I actually made a video about the situation hoping for some insight from the community at large but I found no solution. ua-cam.com/video/J8FyK_SZgA8/v-deo.html
I own a juki du 1181n, I am making 2-3 bike-bags a day, would you say this would be an overkill if I invest into machine like this or it is worth it? I've always wonder do the automation is more oriented to mass production or a small cottage vendor can benefit Alot out of this, your suggestions and opinion would be really helpful if I buy the machine or not
Fantastic presentation, i am impressed with the machine's functions, it also looks very heavy for someone to lift it . Is it using Durkopp Adler feet and needle plate?
Hi Alex, Love this channel! Since this video is 8 months old, I was wondering what the long term review was on this machine. Has it held up? Any issues or repairs needed? How do you like the internal power compared to an under table servo unit? Ect. Considering this machine in the immediate future and your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks for the great work.
Oh yes, it absolutely holds up. This thing is built like a tank, a highly refined precisely engineered tank. 😀 The internal direct drive is so smooth and since there is no belt, more power makes it to the business end. Available here. www.ebay.com/itm/124567978646
hello Mr Alexander I really like your channel I am a follower please could you tell me the price of this machine and in which country can I buy it thank you very much mr.
I can only speak for the USA and we have them on Amazon and sewing machine sites that show up when I search "Juki LU 2810-7" Cost? How high is inflation where you live. Good Luck
Mr Dyer. Get a Durkopp/Adler 867 M type classic gold and do a detailed video. Not much of any of them on that machine and it is the "cat's meow" from what I hear from good sources.
@@AlexanderDyer My local dealer who sold me my 1510-7 (13 yrs ago) is saying the 867 classic is the way to go. If you have the Eco it's a totally different machine the the 867M classic Goldline.
I owned the 2810 less the auto functions.... not a great machine....bobbin jamming issues etc..... I tried to stick with its quirks for over a year... I’ve been an automotive trimmer for 42 years... I purchased an durkopp adler 867 to replace the Juki ... no looking back... the adler is a Cadillac.....
This machine is of excellent quality. I look for quality in all my tools. These machines must meet Juki's high standards wherever they are built and apparently China is up for the challenge. Rhetorical question. Where is the thing you are writing to me made?

is it possible to have a manual knee lift instead of the pneumatic? i need to lift the presser foot slowly to adjust my work for fine precision.

Just when I have become content with my 1508H!
Hi! I have a Singer 201-1. You posted a video with one. Can u tell me the value on a working one?
Enjoy.
@@AlexanderDyer Fantastic, thank you very much! That’s very helpful.
serious machine. did i understand correctly that it would also work without compressed air? if yes, is that true of all compressed air machines?
Some things will and some things won't. You can buy a version from the dealer that does not have all the automation and that one does not require air or the computer. Most machines that have all these automations start out as a manual machine onto which are added solenoids and air pistons and computers and switches to control it all. Options
Do know any info on a singer 281-143. Anything would help
I like the feet, feed dogs, throat plates that Kwok Hing puts out. I just wish I could find a vendor online stateside.
@@AlexanderDyer Try China Feiyue USA inc in Los Angeles, Ca. If you have trouble finding a contact number, let me know and i'll PM you on tuesday
OK, Thanks for that. I will reach out to them.
With these CP-180 controls it can literally advance stitch by stitch, that is to say one single stitch with the push of a button.
I started my new business and would love to have this machine but afraid of the issues later. Have anyone had problems with this machine?
My “Dealer” 😂😂😂 has a Juki LU 2210N (not the 7) that he’s about to refurbish. I do mostly bags using sailcloth and am heading towards vinyls and leathers. I also make and repair sail and blade bags. I can’t find much info on the machine. Any info I should be aware of before I make a decision?
Should be a good model for that. Looks like the Juki website has manuals for download.
Could you do comparison between Juki LU 1510N-7 and LU 2810N-7? Is the Juki LU 1510N-7 worth the price difference.
Thanks for your suggestion. The 2810 is a bigger and more advanced machine and therefore more expensive. Whether it is worth it to you depends.
Please for the JUKI 1510N. What is the preferred thread size?
Thread size is project and user specified. A rough thread size range for the 1510 is tex 69 to tex 210. Thread and needle sizes should match. tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
Hermosa maquina para trabajos duros de coser felicidades y gracias por compartir saludos
IDK
@@AlexanderDyerIs forward stitching 1 stitch at a time possible? If so, I wouldn’t need a speed reducer.
I got you. ua-cam.com/video/NYE5B6OPj4k/v-deo.html
قمة الروعة والفخأمة والابدأع
Is this model only working with air compressor.? Or it can go without th air compressor.
@@AlexanderDyer Thank you very much for your time
I was just very surprised that my dealer was unable to make it look nice. Thanks a lot now I know what to expect.
Hi I have this sewing machine at work is brilliant but why first stitches are really loose and loopy? When I do back tags she leave lots of cotton on back.
I got that too. Could not completely cure it. 😿
@@AlexanderDyer shame I love the machine is brilliant fast etc but when I look on back is horrible 😢
I actually made a video about the situation hoping for some insight from the community at large but I found no solution. ua-cam.com/video/J8FyK_SZgA8/v-deo.html
Ok thank you I made them bit better I was playing a bit with attention and they look a bit better .
I own a juki du 1181n, I am making 2-3 bike-bags a day, would you say this would be an overkill if I invest into machine like this or it is worth it?
I've always wonder do the automation is more oriented to mass production or a small cottage vendor can benefit Alot out of this, your suggestions and opinion would be really helpful if I buy the machine or not
I don't think so. You might find that your bags a day increases too.
Fantastic presentation, i am impressed with the machine's functions, it also looks very heavy for someone to lift it . Is it using Durkopp Adler feet and needle plate?
Yes. This machine comes in two different foot gauge options, the Standard gauge and this one, the Europe gauge version.
apakah ada sepatu Zipper nya untuk Lu2810-7
What is the cost of this sewing machine pls.
Anyone have any air compressor recommendations for this machine? Would a quiet 1 gallon suffice?
A 1 gallon will work. As for brands of air compressor I have had many and liked them all as long as the work.
Good Luck
I want to buy one of those
I'm sold
Curious what the price is for one of these bad boys. Nobody wants to say so I imagine it's a lot
Amazing!
Where can this machine be purchased in the USA
Do a Google search for "juki lu-2810 for sale" and you will find several sources, likely one near you ;-)
MJ Foley
can any one tell me the thread sizes it can go to?
What thread size do you wish it to go to?
How can I buy one
Google search "juki lu-2810 for sale" or visit Alexander's website to shop directly with him: alexanderdyer.work
You own it?
Mr Dyer. Get a Durkopp/Adler 867 M type classic gold and do a detailed video. Not much of any of them on that machine and it is the "cat's meow" from what I hear from good sources.
I do have one of those. Not sure when I'll get a video out on it but yeah, it is pretty sweet.
@@AlexanderDyer My local dealer who sold me my 1510-7 (13 yrs ago) is saying the 867 classic is the way to go. If you have the Eco it's a totally different machine the the 867M classic Goldline.
Oh, yes, I see now. It does have a lot more features. I don't think I will be dropping 7k just to do a video though. 💰😃👍
a great Japanese technology
I agree however like many things this is manufactured in China. Same great Juki fit and finish, it couldn't be nicer. Good stuff.
@@AlexanderDyer i agree , thank you for your reply , nice video and nice sound effect ;)
Major tool drool
doesn't do a step stitch?
2 step or 3 step?
Space sewing machine.
I was thinking of the Adler as well. 867 but automated trimming etc. Owned by the Chinese thou. So I hope it's built in Germandy, etc.
Made in China. That turns me off. Can't get over Chinese poor quality every where.
This machine is of excellent quality. I look for quality in all my tools. These machines must meet Juki's high standards wherever they are built and apparently China is up for the challenge. Rhetorical question. Where is the thing you are writing to me made?
Made in china!!!!!! Nope not for me.
They say boldly with many exclamation points from their computer made in ... where was your computer made?
