I have been looking for well over a year for something just like this. So glad I found this before building something that I would have to RE-build. Simple, portable, mobile... So many good tips here. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas.
I built this miter saw stand the other day and love it. I had no wall space left in my garage workspace and this allows me to set up against the garage door and take it down when needed. Solved multiple problems. The price of lumber bumped the project up,to 28 dollars, but still a. Arguing for the functionality. Thanks again!
Dean, do you still have the plans? Id love to get a copy if you do. The link no longer works and his email address no longer works as well. Thanks, Dave
Wanted to send you a thanks for the portable stand video. I did a modification to the stand by placing dowel rods for my saw attachment versus the screws holding it in place. It works great and I will send a picture of it. Thanks again!
Loved your versatile and easy to use miter saw table. Unfortunately your link to the plans isn't working. Can you please fix and share the plans. Thanks in advance.
Two 2x4x8 and one 2x6x8 today costs about $35! Still, one of the most affordable table saw stands around, provided you already have decent sawhorses on hand. Excellent design.
I finally found the perfect miter stand. This the best, thanks bud. .. I'll start building my own tomorrow. I'll modify it so I use one sawhorse and I might find a way to add wheels.
This is very clever. Simple but extremely effective. Im a finish carpenter and im always looking at ways to make my bench setup more effective, even more so now as im doing 2 story fitouts. This design on top of my light weight aluminum platform might be the way to go. I love learning new tips and ideas thank you.
I built the bench yesterday afternoon and put it to the test today, fantastic and efficient, i had the dewalt bench before and always had to move the extensions in and out to support different cuts its great having the material flat and supported. I just had to adjust the cut out to suit my 18v makita and convert the inches to mm from the plans. I look forward to what tips you have to offer in the future. Great stuff jay.
Thanks I just made this, modified for my 12" SCMS, and it works great. While I'd love one of the permanent miter saw stations that I see online, I don't have the shop space to dedicate to one. This, I can hang from the floor joists when not in use, and also easily fit it in the van if I want to take it somewhere. Also, only costing around $15 was very nice, too!
I was about to run out to buy portable Bosch for $65..... but the site I was going to get it "cheap" from is getting reviews as a rip off site and it's $200 at the local box store... and this design is far better than anything out there for what I need a table for - floppy plastic 16' boards! Love it. My build for this weekend!
Excellent build and some great tips in here! I was looking for a portable miter saw station and your design is the best I have found. Definitely going to build this. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jay, you have pared down "the miter saw stand" to it's simplest form. It's a thing of beauty. It looks like you innovate and design with the K.I.S.S. principle always in mind. Thank you and keep them coming.
I love the idea and the design! So many things to save time and make work more efficient! Just built my own foldable version for my 12" Dewalt DWS715 Thank You!
Thanks. I wish I could express how much the 2 stands I'm gonna make is gonna help my work flow. Being in a NYC apartment building everything's 18 volt, but it's usually a choice between miter or table saw. No more, thanks to you sir.
Nice. I like the portability. Would an I-beam out of 3/4 plywood be lighter and truer than a 2 x 6 over time? No warping/twisting? Very humid in the South, boards don’t season well here.
Dude! Kudos on the great plans. Got a Ryobi compound miter saw for Christmas; this is really my very first woodworking project! As instructed, I increased the length of the "D" boards to 10" to accommodate the Ryobi stand vs your Dewalt. My one challenge was that once I finished screwing and gluing the stand together, when I put the saw in place the infeed and outfeed boards were just a bit below the miter saw base...I was looking for some wedges when my wife came up with some foam shelf liner. Cut it into strips, laid on top of board "F"; this raised boards "G" and "E" to a perfect height. Starting a new project tomorrow, can't wait!
Thank you very much for the video and plans, I built the same as yours but small slightly dimensions adjustments to fit my my Harbor Freight Admiral 12" Sliding Compound Miter saw. God Bless
Subscribed! This guy really wants to share his knowhow! I suggest him to make two-three units like this and put for sale on eBay for marketing purposes. With a link on this "how to use it" I am sure it may be a success. Personally, I would have bought one right away! At least to thanks to the author!
Great design. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish I had followed your plan more completely. It would have eliminated problems I had with my Kobalt saw and expectations of straight lines beneath the saw bed. (Appreciated the plan so much I had to create a new google login just to say thanks)
FANTASTIC BUILD !!!! I have been searching for a portable Miter saw station and yours is Da Bomb!!!! Thank you for the idea and the Plans. I am definitely going to build and use this. Thank you and I hope you put up more videos like this!!
I have a question: on one of the 2x4x8 the measurements go over 96 inches, if I cut my pieces to the exact measurements you provided it.it goes over 2" and on the 2x6x8 it goes over by 3/4", my question here is: how to compensate for the difference, any help on this will be greatly appreciated, and thank you for such an inspirational video it is very helpful. and that's why IAM trying to put this together, thank you. again
Great ingenuity in coming up with something simple and efficient. Thanks for sharing! So, you find the 10 inch mitre saw plenty for your work? Interesting...when most people aim for the biggest. You may have helped a lot of woodworkers and handymen make a better choice. I like your peel and stick tape too. I wonder, would it be worth cutting a shallow rabbit for the tape, so as to not scuff or hook it?
Thanks for the comments! Yep, I find the 10" mitre saw covers most of my needs. That's a great idea about the tape- because of how thin it is i didn't bother to rabbet it in, but if you do report back and let us know how it went! I love improving on design
I just bought my first mitre saw and built this today. It took about 30 minutes of planning as my saw was slightly different in dimensions. The build took less than an hour with your cut list. It’s a great table for cutting those seriously long cuts. Do you take off the 6 foot board on the left to save some space when you store it?
Great build thanks. I want to build something similar for site so want to attach wheels and also see if I can make fold out legs just to make it easier to roll out all as 1 unit.
your link for your plans still does not work can you please give us a link that works so we can download and use them? The page you listed comes up with a 404 code that says "page not found" Thank you
I think this is better then those store bought machined ones an especially the price, when you can't afford their ridiculous prices for a very weak stand, Bang once an they are useless.
If you know you are going to make multiple different length cuts, just set the supports as short as will safely support your boards. Less adjusting that way.
How about demo on the work table you have over your sawhorse? Thanks! I have built the mitre saw stand. Many intelligent features there; funny, it was head slapping simple to build.
I'm going to build this stand today. The only problem I see is the lumber can warp and twist over time. The beam would be better off made from plywood as it's more stable. That would increase the cost. I'll try it using common lumber. It I have problems with the lumber warping or twisting I'll switch to plywood. EDIT: I've been using this miter saw stand for several months now and the kiln dried lumber has warped to the point that I will have to joint it to straighten it out. This stand was a fail.
HI Jay, I built this over the weekend. In the video it seems pretty portable but with the 2x4 on the left at 6' or longer this wont even fit in my truck. When you say it breaks down to under 6', does that mean I have to unscrew the 2x4 on the left for transport?
Sorry for all the trouble recently with my plans. Please find them at this link!! Hope it helps you!! mailchi.mp/4db945dceefa/sawtable
Awesome, thanks!!!
Great idea
August 2023 404 error (sigh-I hate links)
Same still not working!
Please can you update the link? Would love to use your design plan. So simple so effective
This is one of the best I have seen. Small enough, functional, great idea.
Love the practicality and no frills and workman approach.
I have been looking for well over a year for something just like this. So glad I found this before building something that I would have to RE-build. Simple, portable, mobile... So many good tips here. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas.
Made your miter saw table. Easiest and best set-up I found on the internet. Thanks so much for the downloadable plans too.

Should say still a bargain, I hate swipe.
Dean, do you still have the plans? Id love to get a copy if you do. The link no longer works and his email address no longer works as well.
Thanks,
Dave
Smart idea, very effective set up with high productivity.
Thanks, I built this over the weekend and it worked perfectly.
Wanted to send you a thanks for the portable stand video. I did a modification to the stand by placing dowel rods for my saw attachment versus the screws holding it in place. It works great and I will send a picture of it.
Thanks again!
I guess they don't allow pics. Sorry!
I just built this yesterday. Thanks so much for the plans.
Loved your versatile and easy to use miter saw table. Unfortunately your link to the plans isn't working. Can you please fix and share the plans. Thanks in advance.
Want to make a miter table but don't have the garage space. I saw this plan, on your channel thank you, I will be making this.
Very well done. This is exactly what I've been looking for with such limited garage space.
and me too... tks. many greetings from Guayaquil, Ecuador
This is such a simple design. I was able to build one for about $25 in lumber. My saw is 12” so I used a 2x8.
Two 2x4x8 and one 2x6x8 today costs about $35! Still, one of the most affordable table saw stands around, provided you already have decent sawhorses on hand. Excellent design.

This has got to be the best and cheapest portable miter saw station I have seen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many, many thanks pal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@thedoityourselfer1416 I emailed and haven't received the plans yet. Can I get them soon? 😁
Where can I get the plans for your saw horse miter saw setup? None of the links work??? Thanks and keep up the great video content... Very helpful!

You have just made my life so much easier.... 10/10 on your design.
Thank you, glad to have helped you!
Thankyou for this video... I was a bit hesitant about your build, but after viewing it I am now sold on this fantastic Miter Saw Stand.
I was about to run out to buy portable Bosch for $65..... but the site I was going to get it "cheap" from is getting reviews as a rip off site and it's $200 at the local box store... and this design is far better than anything out there for what I need a table for - floppy plastic 16' boards! Your a genius! Great design and so simple to use and make. 👍🤗
Excellent build and some great tips in here! I was looking for a portable miter saw station and your design is the best I have found. Definitely going to build this. Thanks for sharing!
I need to buy buy miter saw and other tools to make garden raised beds. This is very helpful for making a cool and cheap table.
How do you get the plans for this stand? I tried link below and goes nowhere.
Pretty slick, dude! Very nice and practical... and price is right.
One of the best miter saw stands on UA-cam. Thank you!
Thank you!!
Thanks alot for this. Just made one just like yours. Cant believe how simple it really is
Can you send me a picture please?
Best design I've seen on UA-cam. Thanks for taking the time to share! This is exactly what I needed for my miter saw!
Hey Jay, you have pared down "the miter saw stand" to it's simplest form. It's a thing of beauty. It looks like you innovate and design with the K.I.S.S. principle always in mind. Thank you and keep them coming.
Thank you Russell!
This mitre saw stand is the best I’ve seen on UA-cam. Surprised you don’t have more views
I love the idea and the design! So many things to save time and make work more efficient! Just built my own foldable version for my 12" Dewalt DWS715
Thank You!
Foldable version sounds great. Can you provide the details on how you built it to fold up? Thanks!
Dewalt stand is the best investment I made
Portability and easy usage
Thanks. I wish I could express how much the 2 stands I'm gonna make is gonna help my work flow. Being in a NYC apartment building everything's 18 volt, but it's usually a choice between miter or table saw. No more, thanks to you sir.
AMAZING VIDEO, thank you
Thanks for the video. Just watched your video and used your plans to make one for my old delta miter saw.
Nice. I like the portability. Would an I-beam out of 3/4 plywood be lighter and truer than a 2 x 6 over time? No warping/twisting? Very humid in the South, boards don’t season well here.
Nice work! Going to take a look at your build plan and see how I can use it.

Send to espuaw@yahoo.com
Thank you
Great job
Excellent and simple. I'm gonna build me one.
Nice build!
I like this a lot. I plan on building this very soon. I wanted something simple and functional when I am making sawdust.
Great idea. Now, I wonder what the lumber cost is today in May 2021. I'll make mine this weekend.

Great design. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish I had followed your plan more completely. It would have eliminated problems I had with my Kobalt saw and expectations of straight lines beneath the saw bed.

This was very helpful. Thanks.
Thank you!! So simple yet so useful!
incredibly helpful and thanks for doing all this for free!!
The link to mail chimp for making the saw table is expired. Please repost, I truly want to make one.

My table saw is next to my work bench. Together they support my wood for my chop saw perfectly.
I'm going to build this stand this weekend. But the cost will be closer to $100 !
EXCELLENT BUILD!!
thank you!
Can anyone share the plans for this build? I really like it and want to build it.
Nice, I like the layout and will be making my own for my 10" miter saw.
your link for your plans still does not work can you please give us a link that works so we can download and use them? The page you listed comes up with a 404 code that says "page not found" Thank you
Wow your tips are great!
Thank you for the plans. Would it be possible for you to make a step by step video on how to make the table ?
Can I cut 16ft lengths on this
You are kinda genius-y
awsome setup ty for shareing
This is brilliant.
Genius! Thanks so much.
hell ya! great design! Hey all, if you are the Seattle area, I am giving this dewalt stand away! DM me
Cannot find the plans

Has anyone been able to find the plans for this stand? I would be grateful if anyone has a measured drawing to share. Cheers
Hi Are the plans still available ?
Still not working would love to see the video of putting it together.

Yes, that's what I do!
Cant seem to connect to the link for your design.
Why didn't you also use a 2x6" on the 6'+ left side extension piece?
Should make one with
2x4@8’
2x4@16’
2x6@16’
You would probably get more views. By the way like your truck in the fire pit video
This is simple and awesome!
Thanks for the feedback! More content will be coming soon!
