I don't care that I'm 26 I want a star blankie and I'm gonna make one and no one will stop me!
I'm currently attempting this with fuzzy yarn... not my brightest idea.
How did it go?
me too.. i’ve been giving myself a stroke 😂😂
Same here
was debating whether or not to use my blanket yarn, and i figure this answers my question
I'm currently starting this with my fuzzy yarn despite your kind warning. I've, uh, got my fingers crossed lol.
You have no idea how long I’ve been trying to make this pattern, that one slip stitch over to get it away from the middle is the part I’ve been missing this whole time thank you so much!
Thank you!!! All other tutorials throw me off with the "magic circle" and extra confusing steps thank you for this!!!!! I'm currently making my Christmas tree skirt w this pattern and it's pink 🤭
Magic circles don’t change how the pattern works and much easier than trying to fit a lot of DC into a really small ring 😊
This tutorial is great!! As a beginner, I’m totally inept at reading/understanding patterns!! Thank you for translating them for “dummies”! 😂
Yes, this is so much easier and lays flatter than the 6-pointed star. Thank you! I just finished it up for grandbaby #2.
Thank you for such a wonderful tutorial. You helped me fully understand how this pattern works.
So happy I decided to make this blanket. It's actually easier than I thought it would be. Thanks so much, Mikey.
Hi mikey! I followed this video for the 1st 3 rows and then just took off on my own.thats how well you explained the "how to" of this blanket.thx for sharing.
Thanks for the tutorial. Just started my patriotic star in red, white and blue. It's going to make a kitty very happy.
Thank you SO much for your clear and concise instructions! I’m new to crochet and I can’t wait to get started on this 😘
This is a fantastic and an easy pattern to follow. Great tutorial, thank you.
Omg thank you so much! I have only been able to do basic crochet work before and now I have a new one up my sleeve and my sisters, niece and nephews will be so happy with new blankets!
Great tutorial! I'm on round six and it is working up really quite lovely. I appreciate your thorough explanation on how to avoid a wonky star. I have a ton of confidence that this will be perfect :) Thank you!
Oh my gosh this is beautiful. I will have to put this on my to do list!
simply amazing. not too fast to follow and a way easier pattern to follow. i made a blanket for my soon to be niece and everyone loves it
Thank you for this great pattern and I made it for my niece and the parents absolutely loved it. Now I'm making this for my kids!
thnx, love the pattern and video too. I do well watching videos doing crocheting then written patterns. look for doing more and seeing ya'll work.
Your instructions are so easy to understand. Love the way you teach and show and explain in depth!
Thank you, Mikey!
Wonderful tutorial ❤ I used a stitch counter to make sure my stitches increased accurately for every row!
Thanks again for making this an easy project!
So freaking excited. I just started this with this tutorial.. I must say thank goodness for the pause button lol. Being left handed I was able to catch on pretty easy! Than you for the pattern!❤❤
Very simple and easy to follow along. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial video!
currently making one of these with James C Brett icicle chunky wool. its soooo soft! harder to see stitching but worth the patience.
Just started mine! And I'm seriously loving this pattern! thank you 😁
Love it! So much easier and I can actually do this!! Thank you!
wonderfully easy to follow and it looks great, I've done one for my granddaughter (here September 17) and going to do one for my (already here) grandson, I love it and I'm sure they will too!
This is the second pattern you've shared that I'm making. Thank you 🌞
This style has been on my to make list for a while so it's nice seeing it being made :)
Excellent tutorial easy to follow! Thanks for sharing 🖒💜🌷😊
I made this as my first project and loved it. It was so easy and I greatly appreciate your tutorial. You made it so easy to work along. My daughter also loves it.
This tutorial made it so easy. If I could post a pic I would :) turning out great!
Im almost done making this and I love it!!! I couldn't have done it without this vid to help me start it cause I had no clue!!!
Best teacher,YET.....Thanks so much for your wisdom on crochet..Im self teaching myself and so blessed that I came across your video on you tube...AMAZING WORK
I love this pattern thank you for sharing 😀
Thanks so much. I could not for the life of me read that pattern. I came looking for someone who had done it. You made it so simple. Thanks again.
I thank you again for this vid! I can't read patterns for the life of me... I start this pattern with a magic circle. Works wonders for starting it. And it is a bit neater.
Thankyou I'm half way through my star blanket and it's beautiful, Thankyou
Thank you for great instructions. I have wondered how to make a granny star blanket and now I know.
I made the other version twice and now I'm making this one definitely one of my favorite patterns
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I couldn't make sense of the written pattern and I'm glad I found this video. :) Here's to hoping I finish it. Thank you.
This blankie came out on point! Haha. Thanks Crotchet Crowd!
this is great, I have the same pattern in a book, but I had a hard time following the instructions without seeing someone doing it. I used it to help my sister start making a blanket with it, and I have adapted it and am using embroidery thread to make a doily for a doily dream catcher. it looks amazing so far and was so quick! I struggled with traditional doily patterns for months, I'd given up and then it occurred to me that this would work perfect with the crafting thread and a smaller hook. it looks great!
Almost finished with the baby star afghan. Thanks for the tutorial!
This is wonderful and so easy to understand. Thanks!
Loved this pattern.... Making two of them for my twin grandsons coming in Dec. Thanks Mikey....
BEST tutorial ever. So easy to follow it was really easy to see what you were doing! Thanks!
Made your first star pattern and I am crocheting this one. The circle of crochet! 🙂
I am going to try if it comes out I will give it as a shower gift. Thank for the video. I get a pattern better by seeing them before reading it .
Really usefull guide. Easy to follow even for a complete novice. I made a comfort blanket size one that was a bit smaller using the same size hook but thicker wool. Keep the videos coming!
I love this --thank you for the video!
Thank you so much. After fighting with a different pattern, this one solved my bunching problem effortlessly.
MIKEY ,, your a "STAR" iv been trying for 2 days to work this out, i find this video and with in 10 mins i learned it. ty so so much xx
thanks Mikey your videos are the best for me.
This is an amazing pattern. I found one yesterday from your UA-cam page but I found it really difficult. This one is much better thank you for uploading this. xoxox
Thank you for this video!! I've made two star blankets, but the pattern I used had more a solid center...so it kind of protruded in the center even after blocking!
I only saw this video yesterday. I made coasters to gift my daughter for her birthday.
Hi this is first time I have done a star and it's so easy to do. Really love it
Thanks so much for this!! It's turning out great!!
Thank you, this was very easy to follow.
Love this! Thank you for sharing!
so excited I'll be making this for my baby niece for Christmas
Thank you very much for walking us through this pattern. It is one of my favorites. I did the single crochet for the edge then experimented with going back around with a reverse single crochet. This is the perfect pattern to show that off. Thank you again. Love your video tutorials.
My pleasure Beverly. I love how you are trying new things! Keep it up!
Thank you Mikey , Making this star blanket for my grandaughter
I was in love with this pattern by row 3 it was so easy to follow thanks for the new version
Donedoodly. i loved it. thanks mikey
What an AMAZING tutorial
Not complicated and very descriptive :)
Thank you for this tutorial! Super easy to make and super cute. You always have the best tutorials. You go slow enough for me to follow along. A lot of other people go way to fast for me to follow. So, thank you. Wouldn't have learned so much without your channel.
thank you for this pattern and video, this blanket was one of my first bigger projects and i keep making more and more:) it's the perfect thing to make when i dont want to fully pay attention, but don't want to get bored and i love how easy the pattern is for such an interesting design
I love the way you start off this star, but I wanted to make a six point star, so I modified the pattern just a bit in the very beginning. I chained 6 instead of four and had 6 spokes in the first round instead of 5 and it's working really well! Thanks for all the crochet help, I love the crochet crowd!
I wonder if I could do a eight pointed star
Joe Hess glad to know the 6 points works this way too. I was also wondering if it would work. Is it flat?
I did this 6 pointed star by accident (looks like a hexagram!) - but I am loving the way it's turning out, it's a little more sophisticated than the simple 5 pointed star and will look lovely as an bedspread accent.
Joe Hess
great video, I've made a few now! thanks a lot! big love!
I did that blanket it out so nice thank u so much for the video .
I am using this as a body for a fuzzy lovey 😍 I love it so easy and fast 😊❤️
The easiest tutorial ever on how to shape a star blanket! Knew you would have one Mikey 👌❤🇬🇧
Glad you liked it!
I am new to crocheting and am dying to learn as much as possible. Books and tutorials can be tough to figure out- that's my middle age sneaking in! But you made this really easy to learn. I really appreciate your help!
Thank you. You made this so easy.
Awesome tutorial video I've only been crocheting for a year now and i keep trying to push my self to learn new patterns and all ways wanted to try a star blanketyour video was so easy to follow . I am now making a star blanket for my little girl big big big thumb up 👍👌👍
I love this pattern. You explain it so well. I’ve made six baby blankets from this video. I use a magic circle instead of a chain 4 though. Keep up the good work❤
I loved this pattern and how you showed to work it was perfect! Thank you!
Now, if maybe I could get some guidance on turning this start into a circle? 🤔😅 Would totally make my day! 🤗
Thank you for making it easy to understand. I am a beginner at this and when I read the pattern it scared me. However, after watching your video I had the courage to start it. I am half way finished and it looks great. Keep up the good work with the videos.
Mikey... I am a newbie (1 year). I found this pattern on Yarnspirations and set out to tackle it today. I did 9 rounds before I thought - HEY, I wonder if Mikey has a video on this? Sure enough, you do. However, for the very first time, I read a pattern and followed it. I watched this video to double check myself. I am busting my buttons with pride over reading and understanding a pattern, though. Yes, I know it is considered an Easy pattern, but I struggled and finally figured it out. And your video confirmed it. YAY ME!
Thank you so much for this! I was dreading my first star project but this is so easy to follow ⭐️❤️
Thank you thank you thank you! I’m excited
I've started it using all my leftover bits & bobs of yarn. Gives it a nice colorful look. Will be used as throw to put on the grass for the grandkids to play on :)
Sounds like you have a great plan! Well done!
Thank you for this wonderful video
Just made one for my grandson due in April! Thanks for the directions how to do it! Love it i don't know how to show a pic
Tried one blanket, it came out beautifully.
Thank you for the great tutorials I just wanted to let you know I love them so much they’re easier for me to see then to use a crochet book or any other patterns off the web or anything else I’m also legally blind so thank you ever so much for your tutorials that you do it means a lot thank you
I'm glad to assist you when I can.
Well I watched this and am slowly making a blanket lol had to pause back up and go again a couple times but will see how it goes
Thank you so much! I realised during round 3 that I seemed to be miscounting. I wasn't expecting there to be a video that showed exactly where I was missing a stitch so you've saved me a lot of trouble. Just finished round 5 and it looks great now
I screwed up big time on my first star. It's that beginning stitch out from a point that always threw me off.
Thank u im making this right now and it's coming out so beautiful
Finally i star tutorial i can understand, thanks mickey
Thanks this pattern really help me I am trying to see how big I can make the Afghan.
Desha Jackson Great job !😋
I love this pattern, I am on my third one
Merci! Vous expliquez très bien!
Thank you for your tutorial I am legally blind and it’s easier to watch tutorials then read the patterns from a book or online I really appreciate all of your patterns
No problem.
Thank you so much! I was so confused!! I really appreciate you!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I am having a lot of fun learning with you, Mikey. I did notice on the printed pattern an error on the "point" sequences, the print pattern has (3dc,Ch2, 3dc).....instead of (3dc,Ch3,3dc). sorry if this has already been mentioned in previous comments.
There was a pattern update. It's up to you.
Great tutorial super clear explanation
This is the best for beginners, it was really easy for me to understand:))
