  • Award-winning journalist Tony Harris is back to talk about his new special, “Casey Anthony’s Parents - The Lie Detector Test” (now on A&E). In 2008, Casey Anthony’s daughter, Caylee, went missing and the child’s disappearance gripped the world. When her decomposing body was found near the Anthonys’ home a month later, the pursuit of justice for Caylee began. Casey was found not guilty of all significant charges in 2011, yet many questions remained as to what happened. Tony Harris discusses his latest mission - administering on-camera lie detector tests to Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony, to find out if crimes, both new and old, were committed and covered up.

If you remember the trial, George and Cindy helped Casey’s defense. Didn’t Cindy lie about being at work and allow the jury to believe, she could have been responsible for the chloroform being on the a search history? I think they are feeling guilty and tired of being vilified in the public because Casey couldn’t careless.

    • @msw8839
      @msw8839 7 місяців тому +2

@@SJ-ni6iy This publicity stunt does not help their case. As I said, the parents are playing into Casey's hands. Likely for Casey, negative attention from her parents is better than no attention. The death of Caylee is barely a footnote in this bizarre family drama.

Cindy was at work when the search for chloroform was conducted and Casey was at Cindy's and George's house conducting the search. Cindy lied for Casey. Also, Cindy insisted that Casey was innocent for the longest time after Casey took police to a home where she said the babysitter lived (lie); made up the babysitter's name; and took the police to a place that she didn't work anymore saying that she still worked there (lie) and that Caley might be there (The policeman said to her, "Do you think Caley took a taxi here?"). Also, how can you support a mother who doesn't report her missing child for thirty days?

The parents continue to be tortured by what happened, while their daughter is swimming through life. As a parent I know you are limited in what you can do when you have a troubled child. You can't just commit someone to a facility for help - they have to agree to it at least in my state. It's a very slippery slope to maneuver through when you feel hopeless.

Casey is a compulsive liar. It is very diificult or even immpossibile for Casey to tell the truth. Ask K.C. what time it is , she may answer it is 9:65.
Let's exanine the prosecution's case. K.C. Wanted to party all night and every night, therefore KC thought thaking care of her daughter required too much time and effort. KC did not want to be a single mother, she wanted to be a single woman. Therefore Caylee had to go.
Where would I get such a crazy idea? ...I watched the trial on tv.
So Melissa, If you were Casey And you had to cancel yout date with your boyriend, to stay home ans baby-sit, and you had to do this several other times too. You would be sick and tired of it. Well I think you woud get an idea.....Artificially shorten your Daughters life!

My theory is Casey was the golden child. She got all the attention & knew how to manipulate her parents. But then Cayley came along and she became the center of attention. George & Cindy adored her. Casey was no longer daddy’s favorite. That could be why she blames him & scapegoats him now. I also think Casey resented the responsibility of having a kid. She’s a narcissist and sociopath. And that family has a deep trauma bond. Their home has a become an unhealthy shrine. It’s so sad. I hope they get help and can move forward.

In a well constructed murder case, you can tell the jury why nobody else could have done the crime.
The case against Casey is she is a liar and she seems to be the last person Caylee was seen with. Thus KC was the most lilkely to be Caylees's murderer if Caylee was murdered.
Anybody in the world could have got into Caylee's room while she was sleeping and used chloroform and duct tape to keep her quiet and put her in a bag and carried her to the rubbish heap.

The parents helped with her defense. They didn’t cooperate 100% in this but instead, they purposely did things, to create doubt for the jury. They were a toxic family, who raised a monster and were shocked by Casey turning her back on them. They ruined their own lives for Casey’s freedom.

As a woman who was sexually abused by her "father" from ages 4-12 and having my mother respond "get out of here you liar " when I told her what was happening, its possible that Casey was SA by George. But it doesnt explain or excuse Casey's level of insanity.
It's just so hard for normal people to fathom a father committing such a horrible act against a child to whom you have life.
I don't believe George molesting little called though. If anything, he probably doted on her because of what he may have done to her crazy ass mother.

Caylee was so not centered in the theme. Its always been about Cindy, George, and Casey. It always will be.
They have ALL played the victims throughout. Yet all of them had a role in this.
Cindy is continuously heralded as being the 911 caller? Pssh. She CLEANED OUT THE CAR WITH GEORGE IN THE GARAGE AND WENT BACK TO WORK!!!
She also said she swam with Caylee every day she had her in June. That would include June 15th. I think she made a mistake and failed to call 911 then. And and I think Caylee simply never woke up.
And I think the whole family covered it up.
She wasnt "murdered." But failing to call 911 is akin to negligent homicide. Esp when you're a nurse. Thats what I think..
I think Casey is also a dissociative liar to the point that she even (consistently and for years) claimed she still worked at Universal, just to escape from her own reality.
I think the proof is in the pudding. People ... well, they see what they want to see. Life, however, is messy. We need to take that with a grain of salt, and be at peace with that, for Caylees sake, if no other..

One could go back to those jail.conversations and Hiw Casey tried to control everything. Her phone call to Cindy after she was watching the case on TV and it showed who was at the house. . SHE was aggressive and argumentative whenever she called. That tells me she would Not of gone along with George in covering up Caylee's death . She was use to Lying and was an habitual Liar ..
She never even told the truth as to who was the father
Yes there definitely was a lot of dysfunction in this family
    unit
And a lot of it was them allowing Casey to do as she pleased mostly becayse they were afraid of losing Caylee which unfortunately occurred anyway

The prosecution has to answer 5 questions to get Casey into the electric chair. What was Casey's motive to kill Caylee? If you have the body of someone you killed in the trunk of a car you are using, why would you just park it in front of a place where you get checks cashed and forget about it. You may think that someone who did the crime Casey did would bury the body in a place that was far away. and was a palce where nobody would ever find it, or Would you think that was too much trouble and just put your daughter in a bag, and toss the bag on your neighborhood's rubbish heap? What was the actual cause of death? How often does Casey tell the truth?
If you don't have a good answer to these questions, you will sound like you had to use your imagination and think up a story about Casey killing her own baby and hope people believe it.
    Let's do a survey....
Did Casey kill Caylee? A, yes
    B,No
C, your guess is as good as mine.

If Casey told me that her mother did not kill Caylee, I would suspect that Cindy IS the murderer. Simply because if Casey says she did not, we can assume she did.

Here are the questions I wish the lie detector administrator had asked:
    1. To Cindy: why did you first say that the car smelled like a dead body had been in there and later change and say it was probably pizza?
    2. To George: why do you think that Casey would say you molested her when you claim you didn’t?
    3. To George: did you have an affair with River Cruz?
    4. Also to George: did you ever have any affairs with other women?
The reason I would like to hear the answers to these questions to see how believable George would be is that Cindy is living in denial of who George really is. Just my opinion. I do think he molested Casey and I do think he has had affairs over the years, with River Cruz as well as others.

Why do you think the results of a lie detector test are accurate Melissa? In my life I have taken 1 lie detector test and I beat it ,using a method I thought up myself. If you have to take a lie detector in the future Melissa I could teach you how to do this.

Casey is old news... We now know exactly what happened to Caylee:
The pool ladder was accidentally left down. Caylee opened the sliding glass door, walked into the backyard & climbed into the pool (unescorted and sans arm floats). Caylee accidentally drowned whilst Casey was asleep. Note that Caylee had been told a 1000 times to stay away from the pool.
Casey awoke to discover that Caylee was missing & panicked. Casey began a frantic search & discovered Caylee floating in the pool. Casey retrieved Caylee from the pool and began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation pronto. Casey had trouble keeping Caylee's mouth open during resuscitation, so she used duct tape to aid the process (i.e. the duct tape was used to help keep Caylee's mouth open). Casey was hysterical after all attempts to breathe life back into Caylee failed. The sense of loss was so great that she lost control of her mental faculties - Casey began to behave irrationally. Post partum psychosis had begun to set in.
A distraught Casey even entertained thoughts of suicide... potential suicide methods such as "foolproof suffocation" were searched on her computer.
Casey dressed Caylee & put her wet swimsuit (which reeked of chlorine) in the Pontiac trunk (some of Caylee's hairs were attached to the swimsuit). Casey then drove around town in a zombie like state. She was confused and did not know what to do: Should she take Caylee home? Should she take Caylee to the hospital? Should she take Caylee to Blanchard Park? Should she take Caylee to Universal Studios? Should she bury Caylee?
Casey frantically visited places that were familiar to her, e.g. Blanchard Park, Sawgrass Apartments, Target, Blockbusters, Fusian. The chaotic travel orgy lasted for days, whilst Casey became even more irrational. Casey was now at the point of a mental break-down. She still believed that she could revive Caylee herself. Always the optimist, Casey even got a "Bella Vita" tattoo.
An exhausted & emotionally drained Casey finally retreated to a wooded area near her home, a former childhood hangout. She believed that she would find a sense of comfort regressing back to more pleasant childhood memories. Casey began to sense the gravity and hopelessness of the situation and instinctively buried Caylee in the wooded area - she even borrowed a shovel (from our neighbor) to conduct a proper burial ceremony. Casey also buried a few sentimental items along with Caylee - so Caylee would not be "alone."
A traumatized Casey attempted to continue on with her life - refusing to accept Caylee's death - she wandered around town aimlessly ... visiting familiar places - searching for her Caylee. And yes, on occasion, a distraught Casey even sought the comfort of men.
The Pontiac eventually ran out of gas and was abandoned at the AMSCOT. This frantic search continued for 31 days until Cindy intervened with the now infamous 911 call.
Casey had to borrow a few dollars from friends in order to fund her investigation. As far as the babysitter - "Zenaida" was a generic name for a Nanny or babysitter- i.e. derived from "Zanny the Nanny." Zenaida was created as a protective figure - a Guardian watching over Caylee. As long as Zenaida existed - Caylee was safe.
Casey had a conniption after she discovered that Caylee accidentally drowned. She refused to accept this painful reality. She continued to believe that Caylee could be safe with "Zanny." She did not want to face the possibility that Caylee had died or jeopardize Caylee's safety with Zanny. Granted, not all of her decisions were made with a sound mind... e.g. the decision to conduct her own independent search effort or being confused about her current employment status at Universal.

defense lawyer. She killed the baby (foolproof suffocation) after she discovered Caylee barely alive, used duct tape to do so, hid the body, partied, got a tattoo, she lied to her parents and got them to lie for her. Her lawyer got her off by manipulation. A murderous psychopath goes free.
