Thanks Rob and Frank for showing this awesome Railroad!!!! Plenty of switching is a major plus and watching the coal train run the railroad looks like it runs great!!!!!
Very enjoyable tour and you need not apologize for off tripod or not perfect lighting.I can not imagine it being anymore enjoyable. Enjoy life all out there. Doc BC
Superb layout - thanks for sharing and showing it to us. Sometimes I wish I had a basement for my layout, but the speed I work at I'd still be putting up the baseboards! ;-)
Thanks everyone for the kind comments on my model railroad. It has been a fun journey the last 18 years. Thanks again Rob for your awesome video presentation. Frank Superintendent Allegheny Central RR
Is nice to see the different artistic, logistic approaches to a layout! Every layout brings it uniqueness that comes from its owner (s). Enjoyed the video much! 👍🏻
What a layout.... Simply an incredibly authentic and enjoyable tour... I was expecting to see the 66 vette sitting by General Mills or PM Junction... I hope to stay in touch and maybe take a live tour in the future. Good luck on your current expansion.
Thanks for the tour Rob, nicely shot too. 👍 As the tour progressed, I noticed more and more similarities to the Bennett RR. Apart from Frank having the second level, the style seems to be quite similar. I'm sure they look very different to someone more familiar with U.S. railroads but, to a Scottish modeller, it looks like you two have the same sort of goals in mind. Cheers for now, Dougie.
Awesome layout and to hear that it's right here in my area of Wny is even better. Hopefully someday I can see it in person. Also my step daughter lived in Fairmont WV. And I grew up in Riverside right next to Black Rock.
The V&O in the 70’s MR! Oh, the memories! I remember reading years ago that Allen McClelland (spelling?) had decided to dismantle the Virginian & Ohio, and haven’t seen or heard anything else about him since. I’d love to know what he did next! This layout is a work of art, and he’s definitely equaled or surpassed the V&O!
Oh my goodness, what an absolutely fantastic layout, mind blowing. That's what I love about you guys over the other side of the pond, you build cellars and big ones for our model railway layouts. Sadly we do not as it is too expensive, only for rich people. I love the thick woods made out of round foam and plump foliage, how does that work? Would look great on my layout, we tend to build sparse woods but I want one like we have round here, thick and lush. You could do with a tour like this on your layout as its been awhile. Regards Chris
Thank you Mr. Bennett. Its nice to have you back on camera. When are you going to film an ops section on your layout? I can imagine a lot of GREAT shots. Love your work. Thank you!
I’m over a year now since first starting on my current layout. And unless I start making an extra 10-20k a year it’ll likely be about 2-4 years before having a new system ready to go, all the remaining benchwork cork bed and track laid and all extensions and modular helix purchased and in place, and even then it’ll take a while to accumulate more steam as I have always modeled BN and ATSF late 70-80’s era and now my layout is 1910-1935. Like this layout a lot and super fun ops
Bob- I use a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 Mark II. It works well for me and has been good for my layout update videos, tour videos, etc. I've considered upgrading but always think "why?" as I am not a professional and this camera does what I need, for both still and video.
@@ACRR46 A track plan for a layout that size would be a pretty major undertaking Frank and the the layout would have expanded by the time you finished it. 😁 Thanks for showing us around this amazing layout. 👍
John, If you watched Rob Bennett’s layout tours in the past he basically follows the same format each time. Start with an overall tour of the layout while interviewing the owner, show some interesting features of the layout, focus on some finished scenes, run a train over the layout, and close with still photos and captions. I was extremely pleased with the results. Frank Pastore
How Ironic! My free-lanced Railroad started in 1976, is also called the Allegheny Central RR. It's based on the C&O, and my main yard / town is Huntington, WV. Other towns are Thurmond, Hinton, and White Sulphur Springs. I also model PM, NKP, & some B&O prototypes. My òwn diesel power for Allegheny Central is painted Southern Ry. green & white with black lettering, & yellow trim. I have several steam locomotives lettered Allegheny Central as well, that the C&O would not have had. Very nice layout! Joe Bliss, Plymouth, MI. (C&O H.S. #72, NKPH&TS #3612, SRI#88).
Very impressive layout!

@@robbennett1965 TY Why indeed? Your Sony does better than my Canon EOS. My S-10 Cell phone did a good job tough,
seen CSX cover hopper I know that was a joke by you Rob, lol
That bookstore!
The book store is a Roomettes interior kit with Woodland Scenics Just Plug lights.
Frank
is there a layout plan of this fine layout ?
Unfortunately I do not have a track plan, only a hand made schematic.

Frank really is an amazing engineer. He will host an open house to see his layout October 23, 24th. Call me for info.

Well took 40 minutes to see a train running. Oh well.
