- The Winchester Model 1895 was the last lever action designed by John Browning for Winchester. Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, takes a look at a Winchester Model 1895 Saddle Ring Carbine. This particular carbine features a 22 inch round barrel, 5 round box magazine, straight grip butstock, and a carbine style buttplate. It is chambered for the 30 Army cartridge, also known as the 30-40 Krag. One of the interesting aspects of the 1895 is the special technique used for loading, demonstrated in the video.

The one thing I dislike most about Winchester is that they come out with all kinds of awesome designs and then after a little while they discontinue them.
When Larry Potterfield comes to your house, you best dam hope its for some lemonade.
I have my grandfather's Model 94, which I prize, but I've always liked that 95
I got this in 303 British. Beautiful rifle!!!
Love these.
i own its twin. Great video.
Larry seems like a Bob Ross with guns.
I saw one in .30-06
connecticut used to be a major gun producing state, colt, springfield, and winchester all had major factories there,
now, there's nothing there. at all.
freaking cool
I have one chambered in 3o us just like new condition it was my great grandfather's gun he bought it new in 1903 and it's killed many white tail deer and umpteen black bears. it's mint except for wear from carrying it in your hands and is a family heirloom. and has the brass shell counter.
Perry you're one lucky man!! Pass it down to a deserving family member!!

How many 1895 Winchester were saddle ring carbines?
Too bad there weren't any in 7x57 Mauser... Maybe I will buy a new one in .30-06 and rebarrell it?
They also made versions chambered in 7.62X54r for the Russians.
Not in a saddle ring carbine
that rifle costs a pretty penny.....budumpbump!
funny that close to 300,000 were in 7.62x54R modified for stripper clips and sent to the russians during WW1
ha thats a gun that shows its been used. and abused, but still loved by its owner. i mean cmon its front site had to be jurry rigged with a penny haha
