Congratulations to everyone with there wins and to all the folks that finished Sick week. A huge Congratulations to Allison and the Gen 2 Garage team, for being the first to go into the 9's with a Hurricane engine. I knew the Dakota had it in it.
Definitely checking it out, such a cool combo! I really want to juice one of those engines up a little and put it in like a solid axle swapped 4dr Tracker/Sidekick or similar compact off-roader. Big fan of the lil diesels lol.
Coverage was excellent, as always. Thank you guys for following these drag and drives. 1320video is definitely ine of the main reasons this style of every has become so popular. You guys should be proud.
Loved seeing the $7500 budget build with Cleetas and his guys and adding Tom to it was great. Also seeing Allison Kovalik from Gen2Garage and Street Racing Channel run the first ever 9 second pass with that combo and I think it’s her 1st 9!
For those watching every day's coverage, is the fact that none of the big tire cars are in the top three a reflection of track conditions/prep or because the radial tire cars are just perfect for drag and drive? Snot Rocket 3.0 is just a BEAST!
Mostly the track prep. Very good conditions for radial tires. Big tires are generally the fastest on drag and drive, but on super sticky tracks they don't do as well. But credit has to be given to Brett and the guys helping him, they have one of the best teams at any level. The best coyote engine builder, best turbos, one of the best transmission builders, a top notch chassis builder, phenomenal tuning, literally every part of the car is top notch and they are pushing every component further and further, they have the best data on the car and are testing constantly.
First thing's first, the Sick events have ALWAYS had stickier prep just like this week. So let's look back at what the top couple cars looked like at previous Sick events... Sick Week 2022 - big tires Sick Week 2023 - big tires Sick Summer '23 - big tires Sick Week 2024 - Brett LaSala + bunch of big tires The prep for the Sick events certainly favors radials a little more than slicks(no complaining, the dude who puts the events on runs a big tire in them😂), but that isn't the deciding factor. If you pay attention all week, the top radial guys simply didn't have the struggles that the top slick cars did, that's all there is to it. Don't forget about how many competitors took a big hit on day 1 when weather led to everyone only getting 1 pass; Bailey didn't have any issues with his car or anything, they just didn't make a good first pass and would've had to turn in a 20 sec slip, so there wasn't any point in him continuing. The Swedes, who previously won with their big tire C4 brought over their new car, not to mention blowing their intake apart and having to glue it & ratchet strap it for almost the whole event(can't blame that on tire choice or track prep lol). Previous winner Michael Westberg wasn't there with his big tire S10. Rick Prospero also wasn't there with his big tire RX7. Prep is definitely a factor - after all, the radial guys tend to struggle a little more at other events like Drag Week that tend to have slick biased prep - but it definitely wasn't the only factor that lead to radial domination at this Sick Week. If it was, we would've seen radials dominating years ago, not just SW2025. Also, put Brett LaSala in a donk on 26" hard tires and he's still probably beating up on everyone🤣
@@philb5593 It's crazy that Brett's team had the fastest car for this event and also the most reliable one. They only had one minor issue with the trans afaik. It's made me a believer in the coyote motor. I'm a Chevy/Pontiac guy myself but if I were going drag racing I'd probably do something light with a coyote in it. No shame in admitting Ford is doing the motor game well!
The corvette guy having to explain how he saved the 54 tub out a field is super cool story but he shouldnt have to explain anything to people on the internet it's his car his money his choice wat to do with it everyone else can stfu

Honestly, on the Cleetus thing, I really think that Tom actually won it all. He was the ONLY one that actually stayed within budget. Everyone else operated so deep in the gray that they really only didn't DQ, because they are all friends and we're making a week's worth of content.

Cleetus and the boys have grasped the meaning of drag and drive, $7500 for old bangers and enjoying themselves. Made the viewing really enjoyable.
Honestly the owner of the el camino did it first. This car was already a drag and drive vehicle.
