Day 4 of Sick Week 2024 is upon us all the way in South Georgia! It crazy to have seen some racers have such great weeks, while others are SUFFERING. Notice how he can do it while looking at Fred.
tearing the engine apart starts and ends at the top. Lashing valves is a constant grind with that type of valvetrain.

I know and it's extra funny because I would never in a million years be able to guess that the owner does this stuff if I just saw him without the car. I'd guess he drove a Saab. Seems like a super cool guy.

Both from Sweden. Another Swede won a class with his LS powered Volvo Wagon.
There are other top performing Swedes including the Opel Ascona in this event; broke day 3
All of them have top performing, competitive vehicles :-)

I was never a fan of Lutz before. But last year we saw him at the world cup finals and I realized that he is a real racer, not just an actor like others on that show. He has my respect out there! now!

I only got into the drag and drive stuff the past year and had only heard of Jeff Lutz but had never seen him in an event. After watching all these sick week videos, I gotta say he seems like a determined, competitive, no BS, racer to the core.

He's always salty. I get that it's not going how he wants but at some point you need to realize that everything won't always go your way and in the grand scheme of things he's living every drag racers dream life.
@@dwvwnot sure who your talking about but if it's about Jeff, I had same feelings about him prior to watching this. You have to admit, for as old as he is and the work he's putting in every day is respectful. He might be a truly humble guy after watching his reactions finding part in his parachute. To be honest, I'd be ashamed watching myself later on video if things weren't going as planned for me, so I think he carried himself good for the situation! Still not a huge fan of him but he gained respect from me this Sick Week.
Great coverage, the Corvette towing the hearse would have been something to see, that is why drag and drives are the best!

When you mentioned that Bucees at the end of the vid, if I’m thinking right Daytona I’ntl is to your left! You should be able to see the track lights if there on, every year for SCCA or the 24 and 500 we stop there in the RV and get our grocery’s and some beef jerky and go to the track! Super video man can wait for the last day!

@29:49....years ago I had a similar water pump issue on a 468....first run off the trailer, water.......looked and the bolts on the passenger side were backed out 3/8 of an inch???????? Of course my car was only running in the 10s...not like this one.

I love these types of events. Seeing guys completely rebuilding engines in the parking lot just to make it to the next stop is mental. Lutz breaking a timing belt and just says fuck it, rebuild it and make it to Orlando. Engine cost more than my cars combined

It's amazing how the Lasala team has Snot Rocket so dialed and consistent every time they're on the track, so impressive the times they run.
