Drove from Ohio out to Colorado with a friend in an AMC Gremlin three speed stopped at the Grand Canyon and hiked all over the Rockies for about a week lived in a tent picked up some girls hitch hikers and drove to New Orleans for Mardi Gras four people in that little car thank goodness it had a roof rack they knew people there so we camped in their yard got to take showers and do our laundry I really miss those simple times I’m 66 now
Clevlander myself, you nailed it. Pack light don't overplan and just enjoy the journey. And I still do it now. After doing other vacations, I found that just going on the journey is better than any destination. Especially when you have no idea where that will be.
My favorite part of your channel is the strong relationship you have with your family.

A well deserved break with family. Colorado is a beautiful state; in my younger days a bunch of us would go snow skiing every winter. Your video of Colorado was wonderful, makes me want to visit there again.
I grew up about 20 miles from where you were hiking. Miss it a lot. So glad you shared your family time. Makes me smile and remember good times out there. You are a gem girl.

I grew up in Los Angeles. I am 76 years old. I have lived in Colorado since 1975 and currently reside in Grand Junction. I certainly can relate to the beautiful color changes that take place each year (actually taking place now), especially seen on Grand Mesa and the Colorado National Monument. Looking forward to future adventures.

Boy O Boy, I gotta admit I still like getting to see my old stompin' grounds, some of them anyway. Boulder Falls, now admittedly I ain't been there, in Colorado, for some forty odd years now, but can tell you this. When went to the Falls if you trekked up over them you could find your way to a swimming hole in a place called Rainbow Canyon. Freezin' ass water but a joy of joys to swim in. That whole area I knew when it could've still been called primitive, but am sure by now there's condominiums all up and down Sugar Loaf Rd. Of course I spent more time over on Magnolia Rd. (south of Boulder Canyon) as it was considered more remote even back then. Some of the footage in the video reminded me of Caribou Ranch up past Nederland on the way to Ward and Left Hand Canyon. Welp those days are gone, but had a nice time remembering.
Its good watching this chillout video again, it lures me to visit the countryside of the us one day and the seaside of course, especially the bahamas your love, no need to do as expected, go to where you love it the most 🎉❤big loop back
It would be a great lessen to the young and old, to gain as much sailing experience as possible before big trips,,

I used to sail and hike a lot more a decade ago anx then got cancee and weakee so i have found sailing videos such as yours very inspiriring and comforting. I liie your p I eassnt demeanoe and Mako is awesome..I ysed to hsve cats and hooe maybe soon to get a n adult rescue vat to share my Maine apartment.. I hoked for years but can no wau do what you all were doing so its fun you took us along. Your mother and brother and family seem so great and its wonderful you spent some time with them..My family is dear to me and i love nesr my brotber on his sheep farm so we hang out and he is very helpful in my time of need.. The rest of the family far and wide across the country.. See you back on the water i guess soon. And thanks again for sharing😊

I already commented but just have to do it again I remember a long ways back running a yacht ( I had a 100 ton USCG license) we were based in Seattle and would go to Alaska in the summers run the west coast and go to Cabo and La Paz in the winter my relief captain had a cabin in Bend Oregon and he would let me use it when I was on break met some great people got invited to a lot of dinners and picnics and hiking Lauren you do need that land time it makes all the difference in the world

When i was a kid on trip like this with my grandfather used typically to pick mushrooms and drugs for TEA🍵 porcini манатарка we call them. Wild mushrooms are my favorite.

We were at Boulder Falls about 6 weeks ago. Estes Park and Garden of the Gods also fun. Mt. Evans was awesome.
Did you get to hike around the Flat iron's? I was there last year and the hiking was amazing! The twin sister's was another amazing hike.
I just wouldn't recommend going up there in a minivan lol. Its quite a challenge! You have that "refreshed and recharged " look in your eyes now. Thats wonderful to see. This is just what you needed.

Beautiful video! Videography, music, and of course you were all amazing. Some of those hikes looked pretty tough. I’m curious how Mako handles different kinds of traveling. My cat is territorial and becomes pretty uncomfortable in new environments. Thanks for taking us along. It’s nice to see various dimensions to your lifestyle.

Always good to see you. Looked so smart in those jeans with drone - drone not included in looking so smart. It was the other two additions. Im not surprised if you go to land. I want boat for cheap living space and able to move anywhere - but want it as home / workshop. Power issues with boat? On a farm my fridge used as much electricity as tools - grinders / compressor welder etc... they are hungry. What I do is get food and cook up and bottle it can last for ages, no power wasting - I call them "dogie dinners"

Good to see you smile and enjoying yourself. I figured you would miss the boat. It kinda like driving a big truck it gets in your blood. And it starts calling you when you are away for a while. It starts to soon after you leave it. Like it is a love hate relationship. But if you ever walk away from it you will never stop missing it.
So my advice is, 😮 don’t sell that boat ! Leave and enjoy your time away at whatever you are doing. And now you see what I mean, it has started calling you back. “Like” Lauren, where are you. I am waiting !Ha Ha
Sweetie I owned and drove a truck for a living for years and I know this from experience, I miss it very often.
Hated it sometimes and wanted to see it gone. I did that, now I wish I could go back, but my health won’t allow it. Can’t pass a DOT physical now. Love the video, they are always good. Being you own boss get in your blood also. You are you own boss ! Be blessed and be safe !
