- This is a complete playthrough, and mini review, of the solo, travel wargame Pacific War 1942 Solitaire. It is published by Worthington Publishing/Games.
Pacific War 1942 places you in command of the Allied naval and land forces in the Pacific during World War II. The Japanese AI tries to expand its empire early in the game and overwhelm the Allies. As the Allied player must hold and then push the Japanese back to Japan. Both sides command armies and navies throughout the Pacific. Further, control of the sea areas greatly influences land battles and progress in the Pacific.

Yes you did earn my subscription. Recently got back into board games as time is a factor I decided to go the solo route. Thank you for making this channel your videos have helped me to determine which games are worth my time and money. Keep up the good work.
I really appreciate that! And I'm even more glad my videos have been helpful. That's one of my two goals (along with entertain).
I remember when you did global war for white dog and you rolled 3 ones in a row, classic wayne, but your videos are always helpful
Bahaha I think the camera makes my dice shy or something! It's wild how bad my luck is when filming. Oh well, at least they are helpful and hopefully entertaining 😁
Looks like a fun game. Thanks for showing it.
It's a fun little one, for sure.
Neat little game, thanks for showing.
Of course!
Very good game for what it sets out to do. The 1812 game has a similar feel. I could see Worthington doing more in this series on different themes if they get a good reception.
I'd be interested in more games in different themes/settings for sure.
Nice review Wayne
Thank you my friend!
Do the turns mean anything in terms of actual chronology?
The Allies (you) gain more Action Points starting in Turn 9, to show the increased industrial output and logistics capability of the Allies. And starting Turn 17 it's possible for the Atomic Bomb to be dropped which ends the game immediately. Outside of that, I can't think of any other historical events tied to the actual turn #s. It's a very light, abstracted game. It only has one page of rules!
No need for a full review Wayne, think you covered it.
Thanks Steve! I continue to look forward to Shiloh, btw. Really interested in the variety of scenarios I've seen mentioned.
