Me too. I am so happy you showed up in my feed. I watched a few of your videos and quickly subscribed. I am on a mission to find the best foundation for me. I don't care what it costs. Lol
I tried both the Chanel No 1 and Beautiful Skin foundations only and completely agree with your ranking them number 1 and then 2. I think Chanel really started the year off with a bang - first the Mediterranean collection and then this collection. Great video, Jena!
Just bought the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation and couldn’t be more pleased. I bought the 1.5 shade. As a mature woman who lives in the north, it was perfect for my dry, sensitive skin. After a few wears, I went back to Sephora and bought the coordinating concealer.
@@tonyasuttie3296 No, not a problem at all and I am sensitive. My Sephora salesperson turned me on to it and I couldn’t be more pleased. I am a makeup junkie and at 72 have tried many, many lines. But, bottom line is all skin is different.
@@BlingyBea I am 72 with dry, sensitive skin. I have tried plenty…so far this works well with my skin. All I can say is give it a try…Dior is a good brand for mature skin
Jenna you are the best! Thank you SO much for telling us what shades you have in each because I have been struggling to determine which Chanel foundation shade I should order. I don’t have anywhere nearby to get shade matched so you’re a life saver! That is interesting that the Dior foundations placed below the Charlotte Tilbury. Thank you as always for the in-depth reviews
I was never a fan of Chanel or Dior foundations due to the amount of fragrance and they make me break out, but these seem to not have any which is great! I'm glad fragrance is becoming less common now. But NARS have always been my favourite for complexion products. Other than their soft matte, I loved all their foundations and concealers so far especially the radiant longwear foundation and the cushion foundations, so am defo getting their new one. They also have my exact shade :)
I need to get a new foundation and was wondering what one I would prefer CT or Chanel, thanks to your very informative video Chanel makes the cut. The fact that I’m probably 40 ish yrs older than you is a testament to how much I like your opinions & taste. Thank you very much for the good information
Hi Jenna, for some reason this video popped up on my list to view and when I read the list of foundations that you were reviewing here, it just so happens that it's the same 5 foundations that I had just picked up samples of to try myself. I have been using Lancome Renergie Lifting foundation for over twenty years and decided I wanted to give something new a try. And guess what? The shades that you listed are also the shades that they recommended and provided me with samples. I am 61 years old and up until a couple of years ago, I had oily skin and now I would say I have somewhat normal or combination skin depending on the weather and other factors. Thank you so much for this very informative video. I am going to subscribe to your channel. Take care.
I still got a slight oxidation with the newly reformulated Dior skin glow, I haven’t tried the old formulas, but the new one oxidises into a pink/reddish shade which contrasts with my pale olive/yellow neck
The old formula also oxidises, I ended up looking like an oompah loompa. I finished the product up as I don’t like waste by mixing it with lighter shades but I wasn’t impressed at all.
I have the NARS and CT, the NARS I get a beautiful glass like finish on my dry skin and is super hydrating. The CT I’ve only worn once and while it wears great it’s quite a bit heavier than I’m used to and I don’t find it as glowy as everyone else seems to! It also doesn’t come in a light enough shade for me. I’m going to try mixing them both tomorrow as I think it’d make an amazing combo.
Thank you for the ranking. I bought the new Chanel n1 foundation and I think the foundation gives a very beautiful, skin like finish. Plus a foundation a shade that blends with my skin perfectly. Also I’m so jazzed that I was able to buy it at Ulta and didn’t have to drive to 45 minutes to a Nordstrom’s to get it!!
Hi Jena ! Such a good review .Thank you ! I have a question…. According to your review , I don’t understand why the NARS one is in the third place rather than the second . I had the impression, when you describe this foundation in comparison to the Charlotte Tilbury one, that you prefer the Nars one over the Charlotte Tilbury …. Can you explain the reason please ? Thank you ! 💖
Really good question! I felt like the nars foundation did amazing, but seemed to start creasing and gathering sooner than the Charlotte. I prefer the glow of the finish over the nars when applied properly (a thin layer). They were so close it could have gone either way, but I decided the longevity of the charlotte pushed her into second. ❤️ Both are lovely products though, I have been enjoying them both for different styles of looks!
Yes, she said the CT can get cakey, is not as good as the Light Wonder, needs prepping, etc. Personally, I find the CT disappears from my face after a couple of hours despite my skin being dry/normal. But I must admit the colour 4N is very flattering on me. As for Chanel no.1, it is light and not very pigmented, I look as if I was bare skin, which is no good, as I have lots of redness and sun spots; it is for good skins only IMO.
This is a great video! Thank you! I would love if you could show us swatches of all of them together so we could get a better idea of the different undertones. I always have such a hard time choosing the right shades.
I am thinking about the Chanel foundation. I am torn between this and the Ultra Le Teint. I am always skeptical of all the skincare claims. As you mentioned, we will know if the skincare claims are valid because we would have to wear the product for a while to see benefits. I just want a foundation and get my skincare from my skincare products. Thanks for all the insight and thoughts on these foundations.
Great video dear Jena, thanks!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩They only one i'm interested in is the Nars, as the opinons about the CT are quite mixed, and Chanel and Dior can't stop putting fragrance in their foundations, that's always the same. But the Nars, maybe, i think its a quite nice one!!!! Thanks and have an amazing day!!!!😘😘😘😘
Hi Jenna! Loved the video! First off, I LOVE your nail color, what is it?! Second, could you give comparable foundations (or dupes) for each of these that look similar in finish and wear (high end or drugstore, it doesn't matter!)? Love you!!!
Love you too!! Ahh I’ll try to find some similar finishes! :) as for my nails, I don’t remember! I asked at the salon and forgot 😭 it’s a pale pink with a glitter topcoat!
Thanks for a great video as always Jena! I am in love with the chanel foundation, so much more of a lovely finish than the Charlotte tilsbury one. Lots of love from the UK ❤ xxx
Thanks for the video. I already have the CT and I'm excited about the Chanel, the Dior Forever Skin glow and the nars (which are both not available yet in Germany).
Thanks for the good information Jena! I just wish Nordstrom carries the new Chanel foundation coz it's hard for me to pick the right shade on-line coz I never tried Chanel foundation yet.
I was asking myself that same question!!! For me 24 h wear means that it will last from the 6-7 am when I get ready before work until 9-10pm that I will wash my face (24h is longer than 16 h of my day)
I agree with you Jemma on Chanel no 1! I’m usually not that much of a Chanel foundation lover. I like them but I think there are better on the market. This Chanel No1 though blew my socks off! I stopped using anything else because when I do all my other foundations look dull or suddenly cakey in comparison. Thank you for the comparison and review! It solidified my opinion to just stick to the new Chanel foundation!
Great video! Thanks. I love your nail color here! Do you recall the brand/shade? *I had a sample of the Dior Matte and I believe I had a sensitivity reaction to it perhaps due to fragrance.
I have just tried the New Chanel foundation, it blends soo smoothly, and very natural. I almost bought Dior Natural Nude but now confused between Dior Natural nude and Chanel no 1..pls do a video over your eyelook in this video, it's so beautiful 😍

I tried to get a sample of the new Chanel foundation but apparently it's only online??? I did however finally try the Charlotte Tilbury one & loved it!! Lasted too all day! Really great and informative! I just picked the Chanel and I’m loving it. My only complaint is the fragrance.. I wish I didn’t have fragrance. (Not that’s is bad , just preference )
Great list! I just acquired a couple of samples of he new CT, I need to try it for a few days, but I noticed that cream, or liquid blushes blend better over it than powder blushes. Jury still out. Lol. But, color match is amazing. I tried the Chanel #1;in the boutique. Plus, the Sublimage liquid. Color, spot on, but, my really dry skin preferred the Sublimage. However, during summer 8 plus months here, this Chanel 1 would probably work. As far as the Dior, nope, those 2 foundations would never work, however I need to try the serum Capture foundation, but that one has few colors. We’ll see. Right now, I’m finishing up my EL Hydra Rescue , which is also a great foundation. Why change? Lol. Don’t we all like shiny new things to try?
The dior capture totale is my holy grail. I got it last week and i never was more impressed with foundation. I hated the CT one for example. It looked dry on me, did not last.. the capture total looks like dream when you put it on, does not cling to anything, has perfect finish, last all day..
@@macademia8151 ohh. This is great to hear! I’m hearing quite a few people saying the same thing about the new CT. I did notice my cheek felt dry when I applied a powder blush. Well, at least I didn’t spend the money for it. Definitely going to check out the Dior Capture!
I love the CT foundation beautiful skin, I love the gel texture of this. I like to apply with fingers spread it out to a thin layer working iin sections at a time while I press in with beauty blender sponge. Any beauty blender type sponge to blend the foundation in seamlessly into the skin, and it has a natural skin finish with a glow. I powder down so it isn't so glowy since I have combo skin. In do blot with this foundation as any glowy foundation I have to but CT lasts long ! I want to try the chanel foundation but the price is a lot more that the CT
I’ve just bought the NARS after putting Dior to the side. I’m new to the foundation scene and would appreciate your input. At NARS I was advised to prime with the pore minimiser primer (which felt slick and wonderful) but won’t these primers stop the benefits of the skin ingredients?
Hi Jena. I’m happy to hear your review about the #1 Chanel because I have it in my cart to order. I agree the Light Wonder is my favorite CT also. Thanks for your thoughts. 💖💄👄
Ahhh I wish I knew what was on my nails I completely forget! It’s a pale pink with a glitter topcoat :) and as for eyeshadow, it’s a mix of stellar eyeshadow by Armani, and Pat McGrath divine rose!
Hi Jenna, thanks for this. Darn I was just in Shoppers near me and they have added Chanel, normally I have to drive 40 minutes to the store that has it so I squealed when I found it 15 minutes away. I was so excited and they had the new collection and I was allowed to swatch. I love Chanel aqua lumiere- repurchased many times. Now I’m more curious about this one.
I dont mind the Nars foundation :) , but nothing was ever wrong with the Sheer Glow so I'll stick with that I guess? 🤪 I do understand that these days, they are trying fo sell us foundation with light coverage, but if the higher coverage version breakdowns less, last better & cost the same? I just am having an issue going with less coverage, yet more creasing & less long lasting ☹ personal opinion here! Looking lovely Jena, great review 😊🤟🏻🌟
What a fabulous video, Lexi. And I am with you all the way. That Chanel One is so lovely. And I am over and away from the age group it targets. It’s wonderful. I love Light Wonder, too. I found the CT beautiful skin aging as hell and I am already aged!! Yes it gives a glow but there is just something that didn’t suit. Fair skin, NW 20, over 50…
The Dior forever matte new formulation still oxidated badly, I bought 1.5N, it’s getting yellow quite fast. Chanel too little color to choose and it’s more red tone. (I am neutral tone)
What about Ester Lauder’s high end foundation, Renutrive at $111 dollars US? I am extremely fair and find it difficult to find my shade. Most brands are much too dark and yellow for me.
Love the nee Chanel very pretty on the skin also I got the Charlotte tilbury foundation it’s nice but a bit to much glow & as the day goes by it becomes even more shiny 🌸🌺🌷🚶♀️
Im so glad you did this ranking but even still I am going to buy Nars over Chanel because their shade range is small and not at all balanced. It’s crazy that even in 2022 the shade ranges aren’t balanced. I completely get that maybe they could only start with 20 shades but it just looks so unbalanced I can’t support it. Bummer Chanel, hope they realize and do better!
I got the Nars on a whim and I absolutely love it! It has such a beautiful finish to it. I'm sure the other ones are good, but I think you'll really like the new Nars! (I have combo skin and melasma)
I would love to see you rank all of the luxury foundations that you’ve tried not just this year

I have the Chanel in my ULTA cart 👀 waiting for a prestige coupon! Lol
Ahhh amazing!!
The prestige coupons always exclude Chanel, unfortunately 😕 You can use points though!
@@kellya8267 aww man good to know!
Thanks for the ranking. I am curious about the new ct foundation maybe once I use up what I have I might try it out.
Hello babe happy to see you I love your nails and your eyeshadow looks stunning what is it?
the CT new foundation works great for me.
Ahhh I wish I knew what was on my nails I completely forget! It’s a pale pink with a glitter topcoat :) and as for eyeshadow, it’s a mix of stellar eyeshadow by Armani, and Pat McGrath divine rose!
@@JenaFroese thank you so much babe 🥰
Thank you Jena!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you 🥰🥰
Very thorough review. Thank you.
Fair skin, NW 20, over 50…
What are you wearing on your eyes? It's so pretty 😍
Great Video Jena
The Dior forever matte new formulation still oxidated badly, I bought 1.5N, it’s getting yellow quite fast. Chanel too little color to choose and it’s more red tone. (I am neutral tone)
Your bare skin looks so perfect!
Aww thank you 🥺❤️
What about Ester Lauder’s high end foundation, Renutrive at $111 dollars US?
@@janewarring5329 thanks Jane! Glad you like it! That’s awesome. I’m excited to try it!
Great information. Thank you!
Agree with your ranking. Love the Chanel foundation 😍
I need to try the Nars i think.. hated the CT one.. looked dry on me, did not last, gave me rash..
Ahhh I’m so sorry! :(
@@JenaFroese it happens.. it is very peronal when it comes to foubdations😊
Time for a result
Comfy chair and goodies to eat while I listen. I love
The twist about NOT liking as well. Yes Jena
Hi Jena, does any of these have an alcohol in its ingredients?
