    we went out on Old Hickory lake outside Nashville and Game Warden took pics of our stringer. Perfect eating size 1-4 lb range fish. He said its great to see people who know what they are doing out there. Last week was ZERO catfish and a bunch of large shellcrackers. 2 over 12 inches.

      Shellcrackers are one of my favorite fish to catch! I've never fished Old Hickory, I would like to one of these days!

      +Chatt Cats Fishing it is a great summertime lake. when my stretch of TN river hits in the 90s I dont catch mutch. We have been google maps looking around down there and want to plan a day in your area. My wife wants larger fish. She loves a bent pole so much. lol

      +Chatt Cats Fishing We dont know the area other than what I see in your videos. I have watched probably 40 of them and we dont drift well so Steve's style is out. The fact your achored is great. Im also running an HDS10 with structure scan that I really dont know how to properly use. i would love to get a PB over 30 this yr.

    Wonder if the channel catfish action in New York picks up after the spawn as well..?

      Just realized how dumb my question was. Thanks for the response. It just shut off so quickly about 3 weeks ago and I was depressed. Caught two big males this morning out of Lake Erie. Love your channel brother!

    Great quality video, do you fish below the dam all the time or do you move up on the lake later on in the summer? Thanks.

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      I typically fish the tailwaters of the dam. I do fish the lake some.

    do you use electronics to find your spots or just known spots you hit in your area? would love to hear more of the details on your spots when your fishing.. but I know you don't wanna also be giving your spots away I'm hundreds a miles away but love those details but understand guys will be sitting next to you if you give out to Much info..
    good video man

      I use my sonar to primarily find new spots. I will make a vid one of these days on how I use my sonar to anchor up and find new spots. I'm not too concerned about folks fishing the area. Anyone with a boat and fish finder will stumble upon it. No secret. It's the commercial fishermen that I worry about.

    may i ask why you dont keep and skin them and you should make a video of you skinning fish

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому +1

      I typically release all the fish I catch; however, I do bring fish home every now and then. Sure, I can do a video on how to clean and skin a fish. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      If you are talking about the American Spirit Nite Stick rods I think the shortest you can get one for is 7'

  • @louistimpanaro440

    Nice fish, also I wanted to ask you how much money was the rod and reel you have? Hope you have more luck coming your way. Good luck, hope to see you catch a new PB catfish soon.

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      Thanks! Reel cost around $40. The Silver Cat Magnum cost $50 or so and I also use the Nite Sticks. Those cost around $35-$40.

    Do you ever keep any of the fish you catch to eat? Nice vid btw

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      No not really! TVA heavily discourages people taking catfish out of the rivers to eat. I guess because of the high contents of mercury. Every now and then I'll fry up some crappie! Good eating!

    Do you ever turn your bait clicker off ?

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      Bait clicker is off. The sound you are hearing is the normal sound of the levelwind reel
