    FYI: Chickamauga Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The dam is owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority, which built the dam in the late 1930s as part of a New Deal era initiative to improve navigation and bring flood control and economic development to the Tennessee Valley. The dam impounds the 36,240-acre (14,670 ha) Chickamauga Lake and feeds into Nickajack Lake. Good video.

    I scrolled through your comments here to make sure someone hadn't asked this question.... Where I can I find a rod holder that I noticed in the back of your boat that attaches to the seat pedestal? You may have answered that in a previous video but this is the very first one I've watched of yours and I know how it is to get tons of questions because I get more than a thousand comments/questions every week. Thanks and I enjoyed the video!

      That's a good question.....when I purchased this boat the rod/rock holders came with it. I got lucky, haha! I'm not exactly sure where you can purchase them...try looking here www.tackledirect.com/rod-holders.html and www.auroralitestackle.com/greatlakesrodholders1.html

    I fish the Chemung river in Elmira NY. We have 3 species of catfish in our river flathead channel and blue. There is a white albino catfish in the Chemung river nicknamed big sam he is hybrid with all 3 species flathead channel and blue I don't know how rare that is. When I fish for catfish I use shrimp for bait. Great fishing Robert Gildea Romans 6:23

    Hey I'm fishing from the bank at the dam with rock walls piled you know, and we throw our baits out and it drifts into rocks and hangs us up every cast almost. How can I avoid this?

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  7 років тому

      Maybe try using a santee cooper rig. Your bait will suspend right off the bottom. Fishing near rocks is always a risk you have to pay when fishing. You will lose tackle. Tight lines!

      I'm not sure if this is answered in the comments. but I noticed in the beginning that you said you may either have a catfish or a drum. I assume your talking about puppy red drum right? but where are you that you could have either of those options in the same water?

    • @WaynJul
      @WaynJul 8 років тому

      I believe you replied to my comment by mistake. Anyway many rivers drain into a estuary ,
      (where saltwater and freshwater meet) can have both saltwater and freshwater fish.
      I fish in rivers that drain into bays and catch flounder and channel catfish in the same area. Of course
      he could have been talking about gaspergou a freshwater drum which I have caught along with redfish.

    Hey man this is Brian from Massachusetts I wanted to ask you a couple questions first of all there's this River it actually looks like the Tennessee River it's called the Merrimack River there's the above the dam and there's below the Falls like you fish and there's also the Concord River in Massachusetts I was wondering if possibly I could invite you up to fish the Merrimack River with me and show me it is possibly could be cats in there cuz it's just like the Tennessee River literally I'm guessing there is I'm guessing this hornpout which is the same thing as the blues right or close to it but anyways there's probably some Channel Cats I'm guessing in there and there probably isn't flat head but I want somebody else that could fish it with me. Is there any way that I could get your email because I have a couple pictures from a couple years ago when I was fishing for Shad because I usually freeze them when I go out for stripers and other fish such as blue fish and so forth when I use chunk bait. I was using a shower and Shad Dart and a smallmouth Bass whacked it so hard it was ridiculous I do a lot of different fishing like you also usually it's Smallmouth Largemouth trout pickerel Pike all that during the winter spring and very early summer months and then during the summer I usually go down you can look it up there's a place called Plum Island it's in Newburyport Massachusetts it's where the Merrimack River dumps into the ocean so it is the mouth of the Merrimack and that's where it is loaded with stripers and blues and so forth but is loaded with stripers is there a chance you would come up here and fish with me

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  6 років тому

      I've never fished in Massachusetts. I have done some catfishing in the Philadelphia area on the Schuylkill River. There's some nice flatheads and channels in that river. I hope to do some more fishing up that way in the near future. Thanks for watching!

      Chatt Cats Fishing hey man if you do come up to Massachusetts let me know cuz I fished all over the state and I could show you around do you know what the rainbow trout record is for Massachusetts bro is pretty sick actually the thing look like a freaking dinosaur listen to this you can look up Wachusett Reservoir it's in West Boylston or something like that it's in Worcester County and the biggest rainbow trout came out of there okay you're going to be like oh my God man dude it was 22 pounds 2 Oz the thing no kidding look like a freaking dinosaur literally the neck on it was probably about almost the size of a softball and a half I switch you not around in the whole neck was sagging down I swear to God it was like a dinosaur that's the record rainbow trout from Massachusetts and it came out of Wachusett Reservoir but yeah man let me know this is my email just so you know brianmorton25@gmail.com if you could be in touch with me just let me know when you decide to come up here especially when the ice breaks and it's about to be open water it's kick ass the Largemouth are hitting topwater or shallow runners the shed start hitting the Merrimack River the Merrimack flows into the oceans in Massachusetts at the Connecticut River flows into all the beaches in Connecticut but I fix the Merrimack River I fish right below the dam I live right down the street from it it's kind of like the Tennessee River actually is the waterfall where comes down you know the Falls you know where they open the dam and they could all those bridges that go and sections when the shadow running the stripers come down with them and then they emptying to Plum Island Newburyport which is the most of the Merrimack River and usually I get my shad I freeze them and then I cut them up and chunks for whether it's catfish trying to catfish anyway striped bass Bluefish amongst other things can you email me I want to show you the small mouth that I got in the Merrimack River about a year-and-a-half ago on a Shad Dart When the shed were Inn and I was just jigging a Shad. Just like little pops like your ice fishing jigging through the ice just little pops guess email me I want to show it to you I really would like to be like offline friends with you if that's okay with you I gave you my email I hope to hear from you thanks Brian

    What are you crappie fishing ? light tackle?

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  8 років тому

      I was trying to get some bass. I typically use light tackle when using shiners so the shiner can move freely as possible in the water. Super fun to catch fish on!

    Bro I guarantee you that if you throw what they call a Rapala original you know with the white belly and the black back shallow Runner I guarantee you that you would get best. The only thing that I don't like about this whole situation is that you use a lot of live bait and that's pretty much guaranteed something is going to hit it. I do enjoy your videos I'm just trying to give you some advice man that's all but like I said in my last comment I would love for you to come up to Massachusetts and fish with me I could show you a thing or two and I would like to learn a thing or two from you about specifically fishing for cats.

    • @ChattCats
      @ChattCats  6 років тому

      I'm not really into using artificial bait. I like using the bait fish that run in my lakes/rivers. I get more enjoyment on catching the bait and then using it as bait to catch a bigger fish.
