Any questions about this machine, let me know!
Good Morning 😊
I've already got a spare motor and vfd. Would you be willing to sell components of the device separately at some point? I really like the design for the base and holder.
@@zproducts6080sorry, this requires a special motor with a gear reducer. It’s not just a motor/vfd combo. It’s unlikely the components would work with it.
@@mcrich1978good morning, buddy!
@@TyrellKnifeworks Gotcha. Thanks anyway!
Very neat machine!
Thanks for checking it out, James!
I got the email this morning and got one on pre-order! Thanks for getting this out, Dennis! Looking forward to adding it to the shop!
Thanks so much! ❤️
That's a very good idea. The machine looks heavy duty too. Great work!
Thanks for checking it out, Drew!
First saw this idea on FZ-making knives. Good concept for sure. Always fun to explore concepts to make hand sanding a better process.
The idea has been around for quite a while. Shurap has been using and showing his for years. None have been productized though. Thanks for watching.
YES!!!!! YOU MADE IT!!!!! Thank you Sir!
Thanks for checking it out, Sam!
Got one, this will be great.
Thanks for your support!
Pretty sweet. Great idea and design. Looks like it’s all figured out
It works pretty well! Thanks for checking it out, Shaun!
Well designed, well built, cleverly named!
Thanks, Bryson! ❤️
I'm like Jerald I think the beaver pleaser 2000 would be a much better name 😁
Ha, it does have a nice ring to it. 🤣
Ordered mine this morning can't wait to get it 👍
Thanks, Richard! ❤️
This looks very handy for when I can get a shop set up! I have a permanent wrist injury that makes the repetitive motions of things like hand sanding excruciating after only a short time, and I already own several devices to make life in the kitchen much easier. This kind of thing makes many kinds of crafting so much more accessible to me.
That said, the way that thing moves back and forth tells me that one day a very lonely person will show up at the ER with an injury they will do anything they can to avoid telling the real story about how it happened.
Ha, you’re not the first person to think that. 😉. Thanks for taking a look.
looks similar to the machine shurap has been using for ages but he probably made his own. nice to see a commercial one for those that don't want to diy or can't. nice going dude
Yes, the reciprocating table design is certainly not new and not my idea. I wanted to offer a commercial version plus there are add-ons coming for it to make it easier and more efficient. Thanks for checking it out!
After watching his videos I made my own for about $100. Not as many little features as this one (and way fewer safety features), but it has worked for about 2 years now with no issue.
@brendanroos7102 that’s great! Necessity is a good driver. 😉. I know Jeremy from Simple Little Life also did a similar build on his channel.
Welp, there goes some money. But man, I've been waiting for something like this 😊!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Looks good. Question about the foam will, will it hold up to wet sanding? Using water or wd-40
Yes, it’s the same foam used in tool chests. I use windex personally and I’ve been using mine for almost 6 months with no issues.
Great car, I also made one for myself based on this engine.
Thanks for taking a look
The wife wants to know.... ohhh NM. 😅😂
Haha, the wife5000 attachment may arrive at a later date. 😜
O thank God I'm not the only degenerate 😂
@@TyrellKnifeworks 😂😂😂
Hahahaha!
WOW. I want one! I have that same motor, but i couldn't land on a design for the table, so i gave up on my build a couple years ago. Your price is very reasonable.
There are a ton of these same looking motors with different power/gear-ratio combinations. I went through a few designing it. Thanks for checking it out! ❤️
WOW, Pre orders are sold out already, Spectacular!! I guess Ill have to wait for round 2. When will the next challenge announced?
Pre-order drop 2 will be available tomorrow. The next challenge was announced on the Triple-T podcast today!
@@TyrellKnifeworks I listened to the Podcast, when Does it begin and how can I get in on i?
@@WhispersintheWind-72 I JUST added drop2 to the website a few minutes ago. tyrellknifeworks.com/shop/ols/products/sand-shark-sanding-machine-pre-order-drop-2
😂😂 Ill be catching that one too then. Tank you for letting me know brother
Thanks for taking a look!
Pre-order out of stock at your website. I do not quite understand. Is it limited amount to pre-order?
The pre-order was just a batch of 25. I will probably open another drop for pre-order next week, but I wanted to get all the parts ordered for drop 1 first. All the machines for the pre-orders will not ship until late June so I don’t want to go too crazy on them. Stay tuned next week.
I'd buy one except I've been out of work since 2019.
Sorry to hear that. Time to start cranking out knives to sell maybe.
I've seen shurap using a maschine like this for years, but this one seen very well made and it's adjustable, his isn't I guess. I'm sure you'll make a lot of people happy by bringing this to market
I was thrilled the pre-order sold out in about 8 hours! Time to consider more. Thanks for taking a look.
How do you addresses the need to change angles by 45° for every other grit? Angle the blade on the tabke and shorten the stroak? Having all of the scratches in a single direction makes it really difficult to tell when you've eliminated all of the previous grits scratches.
That’s why the slide plate is so wide. You can pivot the blade on an angle and shorten the stroke to the minimum. 👍
It's a nice very tempting machine...I wish I had somewere to store it when I dont need it...adding a bit of padding to where the hand rests are would be nice...how does it handle wet sanding, what is the table's size and how much heat does it produce on the blade?
Conversational side note: I find I get J's more at the tip because I try to follow its curve.
The machine does “fold” down if you remove a single bolt. Honestly padding on the hand rest isn’t necessary, you are putting pressure on the sandpaper. Wet sanding is fine, that’s all I do and why it’s all aluminum. The table size is 4”x16”. Theres zero heat put into the blade when sanding. Thanks for taking a look.
@@TyrellKnifeworks Wishing i was not broke. thanks for answering.
I could really use 5 of these but thanks to your advice on the triple T podcast I can just buy 1 and send the measurements to send cut send 🤓
^ btw that’s the Brain House emoji 😅
Haha, yeah I caught a lot of flack over that. We’ll be discussing on triple-T but rest assured Brian and I are cool. Thanks for watching.
@@TyrellKnifeworks as soon as I saw the title of this week’s episode I thought “Dennis might be in trouble” 😂 Thanks for the entertainment, and cool tools
Genius design and im down for anything that takes some of the work off the ole arms. Nice it's aluminum so its light as well as corosion resistant.
I have other exciting attachments planned for it too! 😉. Thanks for checking it out!
Chris Reeve knives has been doing this on their folders for years. Technically this is a lapping machine
Yup, whatever you want to call it, they’ve been around for years. I just wanted to productize it and offer it commercially. Thanks for taking a look.
Having a surface grinder, I don't think this would be that helpful, but if I didn't I'd be signing right up for one of these bad boys!
Having a surface grinder is completely different. I have a surface grinding attachment as well as a big standup surface grinder but those don’t help when you need to have sand. 😉
Help please, I am not able to pre-order on web site. Please advise and help. Thanks
The first batch of pre-orders is sold out. The next batch will be available tomorrow.
Um I need it but it says sold out! This would save so much time! How can I get one!
Another pre-release drop will go on sale next week. Stay tuned!
Wonderful! I’ll keep any eye out!
How do we pre-order?
The first drop of pre-orders sold out. Once I order the parts for those, I’ll open it up for a second drop. Should be this coming week. Thanks!
Wait wait wait...no more back and shoulder pain from hand sanding for hour upon hour? And of course I just spent all of my extra dough on stuff for the brewery. Dangit!
Don’t worry, there’ll be another drop for the pre-order. 😜. Thanks for taking a look!
I could see slapping a stone on this bad boy and just holding the angle on the blade to rapidly sharpen blades as well.
I hadn’t thought of that, but I see no reason it wouldn’t work! 🙌
Interesting build. Be a great solution to those who are bothered by repetitive movement.
It really does save your arms and makes the job more enjoyable. Thanks for taking a look
Shurap has a similar machine
Yup, he sure does. These have been around for years (before Shurap) as well so it’s not a new design. I’ve just decided to productize it so others don’t have to DIY it. 😉. Thanks for checking it out
same machine mg-forge has.. and more compact version
Yeah I’ve recently seen there’s. It’s similar but different in some ways.
everyone else: fix the knife, hold the sandpaper.
me: fix the sandpaper, hold the knife.
not sure why. guess I'm weird 🤔🤷♂️
Yup, you’re weird. 🤣. Seriously though, either will work. You can see what you’re doing if you move the paper and fix the blade is all. Thanks for watching.
This ain’t your momma’s Hitachi.
Thanks for taking a look!
Junk
Why do you think that? Or you just want to be negative?
