- Learn how to join the ends of binding on your quilts with Bonnie Browning.
The key is to fold the triangle away from you; the fold should be closest to your body.
Pin along the fold line, which is your seam line, to double-check the binding.
Sew on the fold line.
Press the seam open to reduce bulk, then trim the seam to 1/4".
Refold the binding and stitch to the edge of your quilt.
Viola! it fits perfectly.

I am so grateful for this video! Every time I join the binding, I need to watch this again!! It is so easy to follow but I forget each time I am finishing a new quilt. Thank you, thank you thank you!
This is the absolute very best tutorial I have ever seen for joining the binding. You are a lifesaver!!!!
I watch this everytime I do a quilt. It is the easiest and still have to watch it every time. I love it.
Me, too! Every time!
I watch it every time too!
The fact that we have to look up the process every time implies that the process is not intuitive. I am not surprised at all that we quilters have trouble with this. Great video and great explanation. 😊
EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Lol
Damn, me as well!
This is the first video about finishing binding that actual worked and made sense. I’m a newbie sewer and I am so grateful for the info 😀
What a clear and precious explanation! I use every time I need help with a binding of this kind! Thank You
Hands down the absolute best binding tutorial I’ve found on UA-cam. And it keeps your seams at a diagonal in the least confusing way. Thank you so much!!
I have quilted for 50 years and your how-to-make it work without twisting it it the best tip I have ever learned. You go girl!!!

Bonnie your way of showing and speaking is so perfect that I no longer fear joining my ends. I've watched it multiple times and finally I can repeat in my head all the steps. THANK YOU
That width of the binding scrap trick is BRILLIANT! And then folding the 45 degree angle...oh my gosh it was like angels from heaven singing! Thank you for posting this because of all the videos and all the tutorials I've gone through this is the one. This is the one that made it make sense.
I echo the comments of those who watch this video every time I bind a quilt!!! Thank you so much😊
Oh my gosh, thank you! I had sewn, pinned and ripped out bindings so many times but this finally clicked. This video is a lifesaver!
This is the best example of how to finish binding. I have to look it up every time and this is the clearest and easiest. Bonnie uses a binding that is printed and this helps because you can tell clearly what "right sides together" looks like! Thank you, Bonnie and AQS!
I know this is an older post and you may not see this but I just want to say this is so great. I have struggled with joining binding forever, trying to follow other complicated (or at least to me) ways to join them. This is a game changer!!! SO SO SIMPLE! Love it. After viewing MANY tutorials on this, I was overwhelmed...until I came across THIS one ! Simple and works perfectly every time! I even did a round one without a problem. I knew there had to be a trick, and thank the heavens someone smart shared it! Thank you VERY much. I will send a little prayer of gratitude and happiness to you every time I join the binding ends.

I agree 💯! I'm a relatively new quilter, and this helps sooooo much! The binding is my least favorite part of the process, but this makes it easy. 😊

I could KISS you ladies!!!!! Except for the camera not following your move when you lifted up the "A," this was so perfect and easy to understand. I had to watch it a couple times, but my binding is perfect thanks to you!!! The hardest thing on the whole table runner!!!!!!!
I tried your tutorial and just want to say....this was the best and the easiest way of joining I ever found! Great job and thank you so much! Jzentner

Oh my goodness gracious. This is the best way to remember how to join those ends! Finally I will always remember how to do it. Best directions I have ever heard and easiest too. So glad I found this gem! ❤😊
I understood the basics of finishing the binding, but every single time, when it came time to put the two ends together to sew them, I'd get it twisted. Sometimes multiple times before I could get it right. Also frequently sewed it on the 'wrong' diagonal. This is the first video I've seen that explains so clearly how to *easily* avoid both mistakes. Thank you so much for this. Saved my sanity!
I just found this tutorial and I'm amazed, I've been sewing for many years (I'm 92) and this is the first technique I've found for joining binding strips that makes sense and actually works, besides being a beautiful presentation, very simple and easy to understand. Well done! I'm so very grateful for this. It's a life-saver for anyone who applies bindings on any kind of project. Thank you!!
Thank you SO Much - sat for Ages to end my quilt and You just showed me how easy it was to finish!!! Thank you
The piece of fabric to use for "measuring" is very helpful. One of these days, I will remember, but for now, I need a reminder every time.
This is the best explanation I have seen. Saved this for future reference! Thank you Bonnie!!!!
Two words: THANK YOU. I have so much trouble with this last step. Your process worked perfectly.

This was super helpful! What a great method. After watching several other videos that ended up being so awkward and difficult when trying to sew the ends together this was a dream. Thank you so much for your tip!!

THE BEST METHOD I'VE SEEN! Thank you! Video now saved!
Bonnie, I can't thank you enough for this video. Every time I do a binding, I watch it. I'm a fairly decent quilter, but I hate binding. I made a wedding quilt as a gift and had it custom quilted. It turned out great. Her quilting was worth every penny. Wish it were pennies. I was dreading the binding. I was determined to get it right. I used a walking foot and attached it in small sections. Took a long time, but very nice result. Then I watched your video again and again and walla. Now to the hand stitching. Thank you so much
Every time I need to join ends I watch this tutorial! I've tried watching other ones, but always ended up with it twisted. You can only unpick so many times before the fabric has lost its shape! Thank you for making it simple! Seriously, I watch this EVERY time!
Thank you for this video. Have watch a bunch of videos and always struggled because the binding was always twisted. First time after watching this video was perfect. Wish I saw this when I first started quilting.
This video with this binding tip is so understandable and clear. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much. I have been struggling. But not after watching this video. Sat down, did it and it worked first time. Love you
