    Very informative, thank you!
    Having no previous cell camera experience my initial camera setup was with Spypoint for these reasons:
    1. Cost. I could get two Micro-LTEs (with a Pro deal) at the same cost of some of the other cameras listed (

      Warning spypoint changes their cameras yearly so their old ones are “out of date” so you have to buy a new camera every year

    Appreciate the effort you put into the video. One piece of feedback. You showed us the photo quality of the photos and videos stored on the SD card, not what was sent via cell service. I have the spypoiny and the default photo quality of images you receive via cell service is horrible. The whole point of these is to monitor primarily with your phone with their app, so seeing the quality of those images and the quality of the app is key. All the best, hope you keep it up.

    a 12v external battery...For me its an important feature... so maybe can can tell us if the Tacticam & SpiPoints do? Thanx for an in depth video on cell cams, I'm thinking of tryin one!

    Great review! I have just 2 follow up questions.
    1: did you try any of them in areas with poor signal and noticed that some worked better or were more reliable at sending the photos in those areas?
    2: do all of them have a detachable antenna and if not which ones did?
    I use these for my work which often has me in areas with poor signal. I will then use a boosted antenna with a long extension cord attachment to the camera so I can get that antenna higher up in the tree for better signal.

    • @NextStepOutdoors
      @NextStepOutdoors  Рік тому

      I believe all of them have a detachable attenna. The only cell cam I have that you can’t is the new moultrie edge. For question #1 some where definitely in poorer service areas but I didn’t have a good control on the study to compare them against eachother. Some cameras had perfect service so I can’t say which ones did better than others in that regard.

    • @NextStepOutdoors
      @NextStepOutdoors  Рік тому +2

      You are spot on. They come through to your phone a bit more compressed than they are actually on the SD card. This just because it takes so much data to transfer them. When you request the HD pic or pull the SD card, they will be full quality.

      They do have some pictures of them but they are not very easy to see like many uap pictures and videos they have a lot of distortion around them. I like many people have seen the people that are known as Sasquatch or Sabe. Lots of them are around the ozarks but they have a lot of advantages over us and they are basically a paranormal entity with abilities that can be experienced by people some of whom have been severely traumatized by their experiences. The facts by how to hunt is a great support for people who have had the experience of being in the presence of these beings. Many people have had their experiences shared by Steve Ishdahl and others on the tube. I have had a couple of my experiences shared by Steve Ishdahl and I have had many experiences with the people that I prefer to call Sabe.

    Thanks for taking the time running this great test. Excellent information. The plans though - how to choose the right provider, how easy to turn the plan on and off, what does "500 pictures" means? You are done for the month once 500 are taken or you are limited to important 500 of your choice to your phone .... - is an important factor and clarification, experience sharing would be useful. Thank you

    • @NextStepOutdoors
      @NextStepOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Those are great questions. As far as provider goes, it doesn’t matter so whatever one has better service in the area you are planning to deploy the camera. If you buy an annual plan, you would be able to cancel at any time before it renewed the following year. For the monthly plans you can start and stop them at any point through the app. For the pic limits, 500 means it’ll send 500 pics and then stop sending to your phone but the camera will continue saving them to the SD card so you will still be able to see those whenever you check the cam in person. If you have your eyes on a specific brand, let me know and I’ll double check all of my info is 100% accurate

      It looks like tactacam offers unlimited for $13/month and the next step down is 500 a month for $8. Spypoint is $15/mo for unlimited or $10/mo for 1000 pics. Yeah, I would just go with the unlimited plan then. Batteries did good. Think I changed them once in a 4 month time frame but they were on a corn pile and had non stop birds from sun up to sun down on video mode taking videos every 15 seconds. I’d expect to get an entire fall out of them under normal circumstances but I was trying to get as many pics/videos as possible to test it (although I wasn’t intentionally trying to get the birds). Huge downfall of baiting and I don’t like baiting anyways. Food plots are going in as we speak 🙌🏻

    Michigan hunter here. All types of weather humid, warm, hot, cold. Have done spy point micro, stealth fushion x, reveal xb. I agree reveal has great qualities, pictures, video, no flash BUT, batteries go twice as fast especially with higher quality picture setting and video and takes more batteries than others to run. If you have an active area every 1 to 1-1/2 month could be changing batteries if your lucky,(not using cheap batteries either) especially in cold, only way I would run these is with solar recharging battery that is added cost. For this reason, I don’t feel (my opinion) the quality is much different to the stealth fushion x for that reason I’ll be selling the reveals and buying more stealth. Subscription/Package is slightly cheaper to run on stealth too. Overall both good but when your running more than 2 cameras, stealth is cheaper with same quality I feel. Side note, spy point wasn’t bad, just like other two better. Just my 2 cents.

    Plans are super important. I have the Moultrie Edge, with the base plan. That's up to 1,000 pics/month. Since the does like to graze around after I put out some corn, I might easily get 250 pics/night. So, that's going to be a problem. Also, they don't mention that if you want to actually see a 33Mpixel picture, you have to pick one of the low res. pics that you get normally, and ask the the camera to download you the high res. pic the next time it checks in... and you only get 5 high res./month. So, choose wisely. Also, you only get 10 videos/month. I haven't actually turned that feature on yet, I'm saving it till the week b4 season starts. I assume I'll end up with 5 videos the first night, so that will suck.

      I recently added two of them to my Arsenal. One was placed in an area with iffy service. The one thing I don’t like is the fact that there is no sd card. All other cell cams will still take pics and save them to the sd card when there is not enough service to transfer to the cloud. I do not believe the edges do that unless they have some amount of internal memory.

Which is really frustrating because my cameras are an hour's drive away. With the tactacam I use off brand antennas and get a three bar signal and always get my pictures. They all vary. I only run lithium batteries in my trail cameras. Depending on if you are getting a handful of pictures a day compared to setting up or a bait pile, the battery life will change dramatically. The transfer frequency also affects battery life. So if you have it send you a picture after every single trigger, it will eat up your batteries. I normally set mine to just transmit pictures once or twice a day. The best battery life I’ve seen is the link micros. They will last an entire season+ on one set of lithium batteries.

      The plan for the camera is independent of your cell phone plan. It is managed on the app for whatever camera brand you choose and they all come with preactivated SIM cards. As far as service goes, you need to have decent service in the area you plan to set up your camera or it won’t be able to transmit the pictures.

    Have a really bad cell service where our hunting land is. Any suggestions?

      I’d check this one out. It has dual SIM cards which means it will use whichever service is stronger. Probably best chance of using a cell cam.

    I love my SPYPOINT but if you want your batteries just set it up to down load once a day but the more you down load the more your batteries go down and I set it up to down load once a day with lithium batteries and they have lasted me up to almost two years.

      I normally run all my cell cams to just transmit once in the AM and once in the PM. The only time I will do more frequent is if it is the rut. They usually last the whole season still with lithiums.

      It’s been a while since I activated a new stealth cam. You’re saying it automatically selected the $20 plan?

      Yes, it automatically selects the unlimited plan. You can change it through the Command app. Tap the menu and then select account. Here it list all active cameras. Simply tap on a camera and it will take you to a screen where you can change plans, suspend, or deactivate the cam. You can do ths for all active cameras.

    Tactacam X-pro vs tactacam XB. Which one do you think is better?

      X-Pro is probably better. Has the same invisible flash as the XB and a slightly better camera I believe.

    How many cameras can you run per subscription on the reveal cameras?

      You have to buy a plan for each camera but after the first there is a slight discount.
