- This is a full product review for 4 of the cheapest trail cameras on Amazon. Trail cameras are the best scouting tool we have available to us as deer hunters. My goal was to find a cheap camera that checked all the boxes and performed as well as some of the more expensive trail cams.

Excellent “no bull” presentation. Thanks for doing this.
You bet! Glad you enjoyed it.
This guy speaks my language. I need several priced good. Cant afford 5 expensive ones
Well I hope this helps you out! Good luck this fall!
Im doing a school project and this helped a lot thank you so much
Glad it helped!
Never would have thought that cameras at that price point would be that good of quality! Thank you for this review. You will allow me to get some more bang for my buck (photos)!
Happy to help! Pretty sweet little cams!
SO GLAD I watched! You have another subscriber. Clear, and well spoken.( Am I allowed to say that?) . Thank you
Welcome aboard! I really appreciate the feedback!
Your channel is so underrated, love your vids
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
Cool stuff thanks for taking time to review
I appreciate that!
I watched your review and ended up buying 1 under $50 cameras. I purchased campak which I find absolutely wonderful. I can connect to a laptop to see my pictures or I can use the viewer on the camera. The pictures are great. Thanks for the review.
1962riggs I appreciate the feedback! I’m happy to help!!!
Got a handful of the Campark ones. They're good if you're covering a huge area and need 4 or more cameras without the risks of having them stolen. Very happy with the results.
I picked up a few more this last month. Will be making a big push to figure out some public in another state this next year and plan to just hang them high and pray that no one messes with them. Regardless, a lot better to be able to cover more ground with less financial risk out there!
Thanks for that review. Last fall I undertook a study to update my inventory of trail cams. Half of them were first generation cams, the rest were purchased based on price, most were obsolete or junk. My main priority was user friendliness regarding set up / programming, the screen being a must. I ended up with a couple Zopus, a campark and a cabella’s, all under $100 ( with gift certificate for the cabella’s). I rate the Zopus the best. A simple thing like having the control labels in white
on black vs black on black make a big difference in the field. The campark was similarity a good camera, but, it had the micro SD card. Good luck switching those out in the great outdoors. So, I ordered 2 of the camparks based on your work. I initially made the determination to buy US made cams, but, after viewing the options, like you, I put out a dozen or so cams and could not bring myself to by the least expensive US cam for $200. So much for my patriotism........
You would be surprised how many camera companies are outsourced and like you said, the ones made here are expensive. I try to buy USA where I can but it would be extremely difficult to cover much area spending $200 per cam...
Good morning Dave. I just got my first camera and I was wondering why you said good luck changing the sd cards out in the woods.
I'm thinking about buying a 4 pack of cards setting them all up and changing them out every day or 2. I'm trying to catch a thief.
The camera i have has a rubber protector that you can pop out to expose the USB port, but you have to open the bottom door to take the card out and it's only 1/8" below the USB port. 🤔
Seems like they would have made it easy to change out the card instead of taking down & hooking the entire camera up to your PC.
Great review!
Without watching this video first I recently had ordered the same cameras and they are now currently out in the woods. Although I capture entirely in video mode, I basically used the same criteria when ordered on Amazon. I run a string of over 60 cameras and frankly I’m tired of people stealing them. I’m steering towards cameras with the no glow feature and cheap. I first camo them even further using caulk and paint. Using a small step ladder for added elevation, I like to cut out a cubbyhole in the side of a dead tree and cover the area using the same bark scattered on the ground. Of course I carve out the bark only the areas necessary for the sensors and lens. What an amazing difference. Of course they’re not really secure, but who cares, they’re cheap enough to risk it. I’m anxious to see how they work for me.
I appreciate it! These little cams are performing awesome still and happy to have taken the chance on them in the first place. A lot less of a hit on the wallet when you get one stolen...
Great review man!!! I like how simple, yet effective your basic comparisons were. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video, appreciate it especially on the cheap cams for those of us that can't afford the expensive ones.
Outstanding review. Thank you. I have bought one in the past due to price. I will purchase 2 of these.
Thanks for the comment! 🤘🏻
Great review! I never cease to be amazed at the advancements in today's consumer electronics. How on earth do you and your neighbors protect your vegetable gardens with all that venison prowling around?
The flowers don't stand a chance and the veggie garden is fenced off. Fun to have wildlife around though!
This video was so helpful, thank you! I'm looking for a trail cam to watch over my garden in the back yard. We have critters, but not sure which ones were bothering the garden last year, so decided to get a couple of trail cams to watch over it. Your video has helped me to decide which one to go with. I recently purchased one of the slightly more expensive Campark trail cams (wifi/bluetooth) and wanted a less expensive one to go with it. I wasn't sure about the Campark Mini, but you helped me to decide that it would work just fine for what I need it for! So, thank you :)
Glad I could help!
12 MP is the new standard but I have an old moultrie I60 that takes better pics than a lot of the newer cameras and the trigger speed is pretty much perfect. Good review by the way!
That’s awesome that the moultrie is still kicking! Thank you!
Thanks for the excellent rundown, you really helped me find my trail cam!
Glad I could help!
Great review and very helpful for someone who is new to trail cams. Thanks for the effort put in to publish this. Good hunting....
Thanks Steven!
Great video. I have bought about 8 of the Campark’s in the last year. Love them and pretty damn cool that you can check pictures on the LCD screen and then wipe the SD card all at the tree.
The viewing screen is real nice especially for a cheap cam like that.
Great reviews. A buddy of mine has problems with people dumping trash on his private drive so this is really helpful to choose a cheap camera to catch them in the act.
Exactly, this is a cheap way to monitor that. I appreciate the feedback!
VERY INFORMATIVE .. I like the fact you are brutally honest with your reports.
I have friends with 400.00 trail cams and they are no better than what you tested.
Keep up the great videos I really like them. I no longer hunt with a firearm but I like good deer videos.
Stay safe idiots abound during hunting season.
Thanks Jim! I have no clue what someone would ever spend so much money on a single camera. I'd rather have 6 or 8 decent cameras for the same price.
The dog photo bombing at 8:45 "priceless" lol- Great video man THX !!
Glad you liked it!!
Good review I always look on amazon for trail cams and other hunting gear I tried apeman camera last year sent it back not happy at all. New sub 👍
Appreciate the support! That is the one I was most shocked about because I've seen it on Amazon a lot and always has good reviews...
Next Step Outdoors yeah exact reason I got it. I actually ordered another thought the first was a dud both were
bkbowhunter1 thats really good to know because I did have that thought as well.
I have a Campark T20(same one you showed), a T70, two T40's and three T45's. T45 is my favorite and the best of them all IMO with T40 real close second. $50 shipped on ebay. I "need" at least 5 more T45's. Ty for the awesome review.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to check out the other Camparks still!
I'm new to trail cams and I bought the T45 so I'm super happy to hear you say that
Great video detail of the dog taking a dump. Could see what he had for breakfast.
Kibbles and bits!
hey man, brilliant video, my dad wants a night cam for his gargan here in uk, appreciate the work you've done here
Glad I could help!
Very, very good review that is practical information for people who want to use them to scout deer. I hate to see reviews that are just an unboxing because that doesn't tell us anything. Thank you for sharing this information!
Happy to help!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for helping me narrow the field. 👍🏼
You bet!
Great video...I purchased the Campark T20. Btw...the dog at 8:46 😂
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this video. We're just starting out and have the Campark T20. So far it's been great. Might soon start looking at more and this video will help!
Good luck! That’s a solid little camera. Mine are still running strong.
I have a browning $150 trail camera and a Gardepro A3 that I got for around 50-60 bucks and the Gardepro is my favorite camera. It's quality videos and photos contest with a camera almost double the price! They are a little more expensive now, like 65, but when I got it they even had bundles for 2 or 4. Should have gotten more then!!!
Thank you for the extensive review! Have a Campark, but my favorite is Gardepro is my absolute favorite
Thanks for the recommendation! I will check it out!
Great video. BIG HELP/ I like the the Camp Park best. Ordering five tonight.
Good choice! Hope you enjoy them!
Many thanks! Never had a trailcam before, got one recently (still testing it), and only now I know what can (and should) be expected from such a device.
Happy to help!
Great work-I appreciate your effort and work
Not a problem!
I'm curious to see how durable they are and how long they hold up. Some cams seem to last alot longer than others. Great video!!
I've deployed them in the field with fresh batteries and plan to follow up with how they do after a season in the woods. I really appreciate the feedback!
Me too but this is a good start!
I had a muddy $30 camera and it died before even making it out of warranty . Then they want me to pay the shipping to them so I can get it replaced.
Great video, made me a believer, thanks for the info and explaining, gonna check them out, keep us posted on year updates on the camera
Joe Slaughter I definitely will! So far super happy with how they are performing in the field.
Good video ! Wish I’d watched it a year ago . I started with Bushnell, changed to Campark T70 and run 5 of these with good results.
Used for locating deer and boar in Uk. Received x2 Campark T20 in the mail this morning ... they look really good, maybe better than the T70 .
Thank you Diane!
I ordered two trail cam u recommended that hybrid mode sounds cool 😎 I don’t run any vid now I leave the cam for a long time n battery life is important to me only run lithium I’m goin to run the new trail cams over scrapes on hybrid mode should be fun to watch thanks 🙏 good vid n good minded people think alike
David Tisch scrapes will be heating up every day as we get closer to season. Nothing beats trail cam vids overlooking them. Good luck to you this fall!!!
Thanks for an honest review
No problem!!
Thanks for the video ! I want to get a cheap camera but works good, this helps a lot !
Happy to help!!!
Nice job on this video. While recuperating fro surgery last fall, I decided to update my inventory of 10 or so trail cams most of which were antiquated and/ or junk. I was most interested in the user friendliness of the cameras as I had a few that were terrible. I settled on Zopu and a campark, both less then $100 and a cabella (gift certificate) about $150. I rate the zopu the best. Like in your comparison, there were many offerings that carried a different name but were actually the same product. Just a simple thing like having the lettering for the controls in white on a black background goes a long way compared to the black on black cams. In addition, there was an issue with the zopu. While peeling the lens protection off, it ripped in half. Likely because I did it in cold weather, zopu replaced it with minimal effort on my part. The campark is a decent camera, but, it used a micro SD card rendering it useless to me. Good luck changing out one of those in the bush. So, I ordered 2 of the campark cams you reviewed. Thanks for the assist.....
Thanks for the feedback! If you still have the cam that takes the micro SD cards, they are really cheap. Since this video have deployed the cams in the field and have been really satisfied with their performance, especially considering the price tag.
Good info. Durability along with the quality of the last three would decide it for me. I have Coverts in the $125 range that have been out for 4 or 5 years and still going. I have bought cheap ones that did not even last a single season without having issues. Thanks for posting.
I appreciate the feedback. So far all are running strong. I'll report back after this year if there are any issues.
I purchased the Campark thru Amazon going to use it outside tonight.
Awesome! I hope you like it!
Great video! I use a Campark for my apiary!
Very cool! Thank you!
Great review I watched this last year and revisited. I got the campak it has worked flawlessly. I got squirrels, raccoons, crowds, foxes. I think about getting another one coming up for this deer season
Thanks for sharing!
A very well presented review and in correct English besides! Thanks. And the prices do fluctuate, don't they. I wonder if the distributors run pricing models to see what the target market will pay?
Thank you! That is an interesting thought. I bet they do!
Helpful. Thanks for doing this.
Glad it was helpful!
Just got my hubby 5 of the cam parks. Amazon had them for $37. He loves to check his trail cams now… we needed a few more … Happy B day to him… i tried to do all the homework on them myself to surprise him… hope I did ok🤷♀️😀
That is awesome! He will be very excited!
I have a couple of the Apeman 45s. Decent cameras overall but looks like I May picking one of the others up for comparison purposes on my next purchase. I will say I have had one in the field continuously for a year and it still works. The night time quality seems to have diminished over that time. Appreciate the reviews.
Interesting to hear about the night time quality. Appreciate the feedback!
Thank you, this is very helpful, I didn't catch which one was your favourite, also do research best of next price bracket
All of them aside from the apeman we’re essentially identical. The toguard was my favorite though. I have some new updated versions coming out each of the next two weeks. One is for cell cams and one for a similar test as this video but with all different cameras.
Thank you so much, I will wait & make my decision then, thank you for your time
Hi Aaron, how are you coming along with your latest Trail Camera test, I eagerly await your results & conclusions.
I hope all this doesn't eat into to much of your Bow Hunting time, take care out there.....
This was an awesome video! Very helpful!
I really appreciate it! Glad it was helpful!
Hi,my friend. We are looking for reviewers to test trail cameras on Amazon.
If you are interested in it, Please tell us, we will guide you to place an order and get this product for free.Thank you!
Thanks, just ordered a Toguard. If it works well plan to get another before season.
Let me know how it goes!
Decent review, good video. Would like details on the number of pics per MB/GB as well as the number of video clips per MB/GB. Battery life would also be worth exploring. I've got one I bought at a Walmart Black Friday sale and have been looking to add more cameras . I was impressed by the videos and the still plus video option (would like to have heard more about such a feature).
Interesting, I never thought of the pics per MB/GB etc. Could probably calculate that some how. Battery life has been impressive so far. I've had these cams out since early spring in high traffic areas and are all still running strong. The video+pic option is nice because gives you a still image and then a video clip. That is what i've been running my scrape cams on.
Thanks for your info...Love it !! You just safe us from a lot of work..Bless
You are so welcome!
Awesome reviews. At 8:44 I thought that was a wolf taking a load 💩 off his mind. 😆
Lol thank you!
Great review! Keep up the great work!
Thanks a ton!
Good review mate. Here's my opinion.
Apeman brand cameras are inexpensive. But I faced are 4 out of 10 cameras mulfunctioned within few weeks of trail use. 1. Menu malfunction, 2. Auto zoom mulfinction 3. Poor night vision 4. Leaking 5. Pink glare. 6. Broken battery hinge. I wrote to Apeman manufacturer directly and they replied I can't get warranty if I do not buy directly from them. They even claimed I bought imitation Apeman. Oh man, its common we buy cams from local resellers to avoid the hassle and waiting time. Just my 2cents worth of feedback to warn would be buyers
Yes agree on the apeman. Still happy with the other ones I tested and all are still in the rotation right now performing well.
Great reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do and post this. A couple of nice bucks there. What are the gps coordinates for your backyard and when are you away for work? asking "for a friend"
I sold the house and moved to ohio so I can give you the coordinates but not sure when the new owners are away at work 😂😂😂
@@NextStepOutdoors likely story. Haha.
Good day to you from over the pond ,I have just bought a Wechamp mini T20 20 megapixel from amazon .I think this maybe an uprated Campark camera the specs seems to be good if not better than the ones on your videos .I will let you know how I get on with it .Very good full videos.David.
Thanks for sharing David. I’ll have to check it out. That is one that I’ve not had the chance to try yet. Please let me know what you think!
Love the vlog! now here’s the thing , my wife is driving me nuts, we’ve got wild foxes in the garden ……. I need advice , looking for a trail camera like the ones recommended with Wi-Fi capability ( she’s looking out for them in the evening after putting eggs out 😆) any camera on Amazon you’ve seen that may help an egg putter outta husband ………
😂😂😂 you will probably need something like this. amzn.to/3BxggzN this will send pics directly to your phone in real time. I’m not familiar with any WiFi cams that will send you pics though. Hope you get the fox!
Great content 👍
Appreciate it Kevin!
I loved your review and because u did an outstanding job, I will be purchasing 3 cameras. Thank u
That means a lot Cleveland!
@@NextStepOutdoors Amazon is showing an upgrade to the camera you posted. Will u still get the credit if I purchase the new one? If not, please update ur links and let me know so I can order please.
@@noplot3301 Yes I will still! I really appreciate the support!
Dang man all those links are already outdated. Do you plan on doing another review of the current Amazon cameras?
I'm working on it right now!
@@NextStepOutdoors my personal favorite the ToGuard camera isn’t available on Amazon any longer, you have to buy it direct now. So I’m super curious to see some reviews for cameras available in 2021.
I had purchased a 2 pack of a no name brand called hollywtop from ebay for 65 last spring and they were excellent. Unfortunately I lost those 2 and 6 others in the north complex fire here in northern Ca. Unfortunately as well, those hollywtop are no longer available but after watching your review today they look exactly like those letscom you reviewed and had the same specs so Im betting they either just changed the name or like you said are made by the same mfg. I will be grabbing a few just to try them out. Thanks for the great review and video.
I appreciate the feedback. I'm happy to help.
I just bought one. Mini trail camera G100, by wosports. I'm satisfied with it
I'll have to try that one
Great information you helped alot
I appreciate the feedback! Good luck this fall!
Thanks I'm going with #2 or 3 .
Can't go wrong with either one!
Nice video. Thank you, for taking the time to create it. And, you mentioned your Husky in the videos. So, is the (Black) dog at 8:42 (right-hand side of the screen) pooping in the yard, yours too?
Absolutely. That is Fynn. He is a blue heeler/Australian shepherd mix. Best dog in the world.
I thought about getting a couple cameras to record activity around the house, good information for someone who doesn't know a thing about those cameras, I don't have a computer so a viewing screen is a big plus.
You can also buy SD card readers that plug into your phone that are relatively inexpensive.
great info thanks so much for your research!
You’re welcome! 😄
Campark now $51.98 on Amazon - amazing what a little good pr does
Whoops, sorry everyone...
Thank you 😊
Great video! Super informative! Subscribed! Keep it up!
That means a lot! Thank you!
That's a big one at 8:42
Yeah, its crazy what we get on cam sometimes!
Great job.
Please test budget cellular trail cameras that transmit live feed to my phone
Great suggestion! Will have to do this one next.
Are you still liking the Campark a year later? I’d like to put some cheap trail cams around our property just to keep track of the wildlife, the quality of the video on these seemed great!
I’ve been rocking them for 3 seasons now and they are still kicking…
I've been running Apeman H55s which is a model up or two for a hair more money. I've very happy with that camera. I'm running 7 cameras and I get some awesome pics day and night. Only bad part is I have my sensitivity on one camera really high as its on an open field, as im trying to get more pics of elk further out. Takes pics of elk out to 60yards so its doing exactly what I want but I do have a lot more unnecessary wind pics doing this, but miss very few animals.
I might have to check them out for the next Amazon test video. Thanks for the recommendation!
Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
Why would you not add a link to The exact Amazon page ? So far every camera you recommended is not really find on Amazon
A lot of the cams are now sold by another supplier. This vid is a few years old. I made an updated one recently that has updated cameras and the actual manufacturer linked.
Had to have 4 star reviews or better in order for you to test and review them🤔 guess there are some left out that didn’t stand a chance lol
Sage Morris I figured I’d let the masses screen the majority of them out for me. Only wanted to test the best.
@@NextStepOutdoors most reviews on amazon, especially on chinese made products are fake "bought" reviews.
@@chrisgagnon51 That's what I heard after the fact. They were pretty spot on for these with the exception of the apeman.
Great review!
Thank you!!!
Very well done!
Thank you very much!
Great video!!! I have been exclusively running Browning cameras for years and like you I wanted to expand without spending a bunch of money. I bought one of those Apeman cameras spring of 2019 and I absolutely hate it. It still works and I still use it but the video & picture quality is the worst. Pretty much what you showed. The Apemen claims to be 1080p HD but it is not even close to that. The editing program I use detects as standard res... So I have been very reluctant to go the cheap route ever since. But I like what you have shown on the other 3 cams. I could get 4 of those for the price of one SpecOps cam... Thanks for the review... I subbed ya... Eric
Thanks for the feedback Eric! I kept the apeman in the backyard for fun and the rest went into the field. Nice affordable cams!
I have 3 toguards like the ones in the video, the only qualm I have with them is even on low sensitivity you get a lot of branch sway and unnecessary pictures. They are very sensitive, so sensitive they pic up a squirrel about 30 yards out and trigger the camera. On the other hand you hardly ever miss a deer and you can pinpoint the settings to damn near not miss anything. I had to retire one from night time use because a wood pecker demolished my ir functions
I haven't experienced excessive misfires. I try my best to trim any foliage in the way and have had good luck so far.
Do any these 3 cameras of available security boxes available. Some call them bear boxes. Good job reviewing.
Thanks Gary. There are no security boxes made specifically for these cameras to my knowledge. I bet there are some generic one size fits all boxes that may work though. I've never really had a need to explore those options yet.
Get a lineman belt, a harness, climbing stick and use them to put your cameras up high in the tree where people can’t get them.
That'll Do It Outdoors one stick high and most people one mess with them. I python lock all my more expensive cams especially if they are on public still.
Next Step Outdoors yes sir! I just like the harness and belt so I don’t have to hug the tree while putting camera up lol
Just saw ur review thanks guy most ppl won’t waste a video on inexpensive trail cams but Im like u I run a lot of cams on public in ND I use mostly now ... Tasco trail cams from Walmart good camera but doesn’t have all the bells n whistles u showed us on ur review plus u had real life deer 🦌 who can say that 👍👍👍👍👍
Really helpful video man! Thanks!
Happy to help!
Do any of your suggested picks have the ability to lock the sim card up? Great video. Thanks for the review.
Yes, all of the doors lock. I'd recommend getting a pack of cheap luggage locks and using those.
Great review! One thing I have discovered is that trigger sensitivity is highly variable. I put two cameras on the same tree and one will take three times the number of deer pictures as the other camera. Have observed this?
From what I’ve figured out a lot of that comes down to the height on the tree/angle of the cam. There is a certain detection zone where it is more sensitive. I’d be curious to see the results if you ran the cameras on different trees at similar heights/angles.
I have 20 trail cameras out, 6 of them are CAMPARK, they out perform my $130 camera by far 👍🏻more $ doesn't always mean better.
Couldn't agree more! Glad you like them!
Cool video! Very informative - thanks 👍
My pleasure!
Hey bro , i love hunting too , but want to ask something i curious about this camera trail ... , how much storage memory card to record 1 day video 1080 quality .?
I run 16g SD cards in mine usually but they are not designed to film for you like you're talking about. Simply to monitor game trails or act as a security camera.
Nice job on the video and we agree about the Apeman. :(
I appreciate it fellas
Hi, thanks for the video. I just bought my 1st trail cam on Amazon. I got the updated Campark Mini 16MP 1080 HD Game Camera. (actually, I bought 3 of them). Have you tried this updated model yet? I also have one acre butting up against a wild life area on the northern fringe of Minneapolis. I have tons of wildlife in my yard, including coyotes, coydogs, turkeys and of course deer. I also have a good sized pond on the back of my property, so plenty of ducks, geese, herons, etc. How cold of temperatures will these cameras take? Do you have to take them down when it gets any certain cold temperature? Thanks!
I do not believe I've tried the other version yet. As far as temps they will function regardless of how cold from my experience. Good luck getting some cool pics of the wildlife around your yard!
@@NextStepOutdoors Thanks. What memory card do you use and how much memory is enough for most situations? I saw another set up video on the Campark and the guy was advising a Class 10 Samsung Evo 4K card and he was using a 32 gig card.
Loved your videos- quck, matter of fact, bing/bang/boom...here's the info. I'm an avid hunter, but now on a strict budget so my old Primos which was $$ years ago, but I've taken care of it...someone decided they wanted it too, so they took it. Thanks again for giving options and comparisons !
Andrea Carr thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback I really appreciate it! Good luck this fall!
Excellent review, keep up the good work. Liked and subscribed.
That means a lot! I appreciate it!
Can I setup a couple outside around my cabin that has been broken into? Making sure they are hidden in a tree. Will these give themselves away to humans? Flashing, lights?
They have a really dull red glow at night. If anything, I'd hang them high and the red glow could deter future break ins once they realize it is actively being monitored. I doubt they would see them though and should do the trick.
Great video
Thank you! 😊
Which External Power Supply do you use? If you decide to use one.
I normally just run lithium AA batteries in all of my non-cellular trailcams. You can run 12v batteries. When I do that, I keep the battery in a plastic field box and run the cord out of the top up to the camera.
Thanks for the tips. Just got a Universal Power Supply with various connectors, use 6V - 2 Amp type on my Victure Mini- trail camera here in UK.
