Phase 1 Prep for Car Camping

Planning on doing a good few trips away in the Citroen Berlingo with a very simple and basic car camping setup. In these days where crime is rife and public car parks are unsafe, the plan is to use a campsite as a base for walking and exploring. Glamping can get expensive, so I'm creating my own place to stay that can be easily set-up and packed down (this car is needed for normal day-to-day activities at other times).

Great stuff Gary, been looking forward to seeing the 104 battle wagon in more detail. Defo the way to go for a cheap get away and easier to get a pitch rather than book a pod etc. Plus you’ve got a mobile Shack. Just needs a small solar panel on the roof to top up your portable battery box 😉

Hoping to get away a lot more often and this setup should allow that to happen. The pods are great, but the cost adds up and they need to be set up from scratch each time. Not only that, but many sites don't have pods at all and those are going to be the more basic and remote sites that I'm looking for as a base for hillwalking and portable radio. While I was at this place for a week, I did do some experiments with solar - hopefully a video up about that soon. Cheers.
