Some of the things you could visit for free in Washington are all the Smithsonian National Museums such as the Natural History, American History, Art, American Indian, Air and Space and so on. Or even the ZOO or Planet Word. But there is also nature, hiking and nice neighbourhoods to explore with their own local markets.
In that way I didn't even talk about things such as the White House, Capitol Building, Washington Monument and the many memorials. So there is enough to explore, and here are some of the things you are able to do for free when you visit Washington for a weekend.

Great video again! And you even found something I did not visit in my trips to WDC (Planet Word, will be on my list :D ). I realy love the Zoo and visiting it in the morning is the best thing to do, even in the winter. The Postal museum was a highlight for us also, Air and Space is always the best thing to see if you can do only one.
