    Shopdad and Keith work some magic on the 1954 Chevy BelAir and Shopdad takes it out for a spin Jay Leno style. Austin stays focused on the Falcon as he cuts away the frame to prepare it for some bigger tubs. Keenan does some metal and fiberglass repair on the C2 Corvette. Doug and Keith strip down the Mopar and get it ready to be rebuilt for the Challenger project.
    Music supplied by the UA-cam Creator Library.
    Shot on:
    Sony A7RII
    DJI Ronin-M
    Zhiyun Crane
    Rode Mics

    Thanks for the tip working with fibreglass on the Vett I'm not going to work with fiberglass any time soon wish I had UA-cam back when I started body work in my eary twenties or right out of high school. Then learn tricks along the way, but sanding and blocking there is no trick and no way around it just lots and lots of hard work the more you do the better it looks when the paint lays on the body, that's the first thing everyone sees then under the hood.

    • @superprettyko
      @superprettyko Рік тому

      YES a 210 - I had one sold in 1975, BUT I am going to pick up another just like this one. ALL BLACK / the one I sold was Black / White. Both are inline 6 with standard. My first was converted to 3 on floor / I will miss that, but on the tree is ok too. 54'S can't beat them for looks.

    The birdcage got its name from the iron workers who made it back in the day.
    When you work with fiberglass make sure you take a cold shower afterwords. Hot showers open up your pores and make you itch a lot more. I hope that helps I learned that the hard way.

    1969. It was a black 4-door Two-Ten my father bought new in Prescott AR. I learned to drive a standard transmission in it. You never see ‘53s or ‘54s at Mecum or Barret-Jackson events. My grandfather had a black ‘48 (the year I was born). Got to drive it also.

    FYI to Keenan: I've worked with a fiberglass chop gun. Best way of not itching all night is to go stand in the bathroom full of steam to open your pores and immediately rinse off in a COLD shower. No more fiberglass itching!

      @Photobombin 6 років тому +3

      Daniel Scott that's what I said. I use to work remodeling homes for a living and every now and then doing insullation or other misc I'd come in contact with it.

    • @snoopu2601
      @snoopu2601 6 років тому

      Daniel Scott thanks for the tip I used to get that fiberglass and wrap the same stuff the used to reinforce the bay bridge and most of the double decker parking lots in San Francisco my brother in law used to work for a company that invented the fiberwrap and he gave me bags full of the powder 5 gallon buckets of the resin and rolls of the fiberwrap it was almost like Kevlar bullet proof I shot at it with a 9 mm at the bullets didn't go through it.
      The only thing is I didn't like to sand it when I used it on a few things I'm a welder so I like to work with steel sheet metal not fiberglass that my brother in law wanted on his 1958 Chevrolet wagon look like the impala wagon body he wanted to use it for the rust holes in it, I have to say when I put the raisin on the metal without the fiberglass or wrap it looked wet and stayed that way for years I put some on the floor of my 1972 GMC SUBURBAN to see what or how long it would stay that way.
      If someone was trying to make a Carson top hard top convertible that stuff would have been perfect it was light weight and strong

    hey Erick what,s the story on the shoebox on the lift behind the vette.?

    • @Photobombin
      @Photobombin 6 років тому

      lilorbie lilorbie it actually belongs to a friend of mine named Wes Coleman, he is the guy who makes signs and stickers for KC and also has a super sick Cadillac CTSV wagon he drag races. Anyways I don't know the entire history I just know that him and Tanner (the guy who pinstripes who is also Wes best friend) chopped it years ago and had it slammed on bags but they were young and did it in a garage with the knowledge they had so now Wes is having it built to professional standards. Still gonna stay bagged I believe.

      Erick Barrandey that,s cool. way back in 1973 i had a chance to buy a og. 1949 Ford shoebox. the price was only $25.00. the problem was . the car was in Arkansas and i lived in California. and i did not have any place to store it. i saw it again in the summer of 1988. the price had gone up to $300.00. there was a lean on the title, and the state said that they could not give me a title for it. the car was just about rust free.

      Erick Barrandey talk about a small world. i was born and raised in Orange County ,CA. spent the first 29 years of my life "growing" up there. i spent a lot of my time cruising up and down P.CH. in my first car. a 1965 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. i was the first one in the group friends that i hung out with to get my driver,s lic. we all thought we were so cool, sadly that was not the case. and i just found out about a week ago, that one of that group has passed away.

      I'm not sure what there is to explain about a motor being somewhat taken apart. Doug explains afterwards that it was being broke down to be sent over to the engine builders shop. That's about all the info I got out of it myself.
