This bada khyal & Cheez was my father's favourite, used to listen almost every night before going to bed, he's no more since last 27 yrs, so old is this recording.

I had listened her recital in 1998 at Balaji Mandir and got myself tuned to her style & voice since then. More so, in recent two years. Now i access her on you tube every night before sleeping. I also followed Vidushi Prasbha Atre, Parveen Sultana, since 1971. But now Ashvinitai is on top of my mind.

Everytime you hear those notes , at 16min.08sec , note shadaj bharte , din kattin , by rolling down after reaching taar saa...not to lose hope but only to climb and conquer that shikhar. BLISSFUL

@@astroaditya130 Ashwini Tai seldom sings in Vilambit Ektaal and so do most other proponents of Jaipur gharana. This bandish has extensively been sung by Kishori Tai as well who taught this to Manik Tai (Ashwini Tai's mother) and she went on to teach the same to her daughter. It is Vilambit Teental. Probably a Guru will guide better.

It is as if the legendary Kishori amonkar herself is singing. I dare say Saraswati herself is singing through Ashwini ji. Carnatic music already has started to lost its sheen of the yester years. Wish atleast Hindustani music survives through the odds.
