    Hey guys! I have an honest question & I apologize in advance if this seems like a dumb or obvious question,
    When I filmed this video I used the words "Retardation" and "Retarded" , repeating Gypsy and her father. Is using the word retarded, or retardation offensive to use in general? Should the word not be used at all anymore? I'm seeing a couple of you guys reference the "R" word.
    I've known for awhile that its rude to describe someone with that word, but is it also offensive to say it in general? Similarly to how the N word, is something people are strongly discouraged from saying even when its not directed at anyone, or they're repeating it from song/movie etc. Pls let me know!

      I feel like retard can be used in multiple ways and it all depends on reference and circumstances but the N word is much different because in no circumstance is it a proper word in the English language.

      I saw it as you quoting what Gypsy was diagnosed as. Retard can be an offensive term when people equate it to negative traits like being incapable, but doctors and nurses use that term for legitimate reasons. It's not a word that affects me tho, so I'll be reading through this thread as more comments roll in.

    I completely believe that Dee Dee would have killed Gypsy, either by accident or outright, sooner or later. It was the only possible endgame for all this. She'd been telling people that Gypsy wouldn't live to see 18 for years and kept backing up her birthday in order to keep up the illusion she was still a teenager, and it was getting harder to keep Gypsy quiet and under control. Something tragic was going to happen in that house eventually.

      Yes, exactly. She definitely would have killed her eventually. I don’t think most people realize that the victims that suffer from Munchausen by proxy almost never make it alive. That’s why these cases seem so rare. This was literally a situation where it was kill or be killed. I think the majority of people would agree murder in general is wrong, but I also think that most of us know what decision we’d make if ever in a situation where it was either us being killed or having the other person killed. This may not seem like it to some people, but this really was a case of self defense.

    I’m surprised you didn’t mention the interaction between Nicholas and Gypsy in the movie theatre. It was this situation when they first met, Gypsy tried to introduce him to her mother in a way that seemed really coincidental so Dee Dee could get to know him. It was after this that Dee Dee really cracked down on Gypsy, started increasing the narcotics she was giving her, and was retaliating by becoming more physically violent. This is what motivated the switch to killing her mother rather than them just trying to run away together. I also am surprised that you didn’t mention the mailing of the murder weapon to Nicholas’ family home in Wisconsin which was ultimately what implicated both Gypsy and Nicholas in the murder. I’ve been watching this story for so long that I thought I’d include these in a comment as they are essential for the motive, and in many states, individuals cannot be convicted of a crime unless a motive is present. Regardless, very good coverage of the story! I understand if these details might have been omitted for length or monetization reasons.😊

      no, his parents were fine with her living there, they fully supported him. they didnt have any "shared pain." he had the mind of a child. he probably didnt fully understand the seriousness and finality of killing someone or that it would have life long repercussions. it was planned that she was gonna live with them until she got arrested. but even if Nicks parents wouldve tried to go to court Gypsy wouldve had to live with Dee Dee in the mean time. So then they wouldve gone to plan b and still wouldve killed her.

    If this were a case of a wife being mistreated by her husband, brainwashed, physically abused, forced to lie and take medication, and she killed him to get away - we wouldn't think twice about claiming she was the victim and didn't deserve to be jailed for doing what she had to do to get away from him. Empath is a word people use when they havent yet detoxified their lives of Narcs and/or Psychos. There are no empaths. It just seems like you have magic powers when you are surrounded by or controlled by people who have zero empathy.

    This case reminds me of the Lacey Spears case where she was purposely poisoning her son Garnett with salt and had an unnecessary surgery (which i believe is the whole reason he could not be saved) for sympathy. It sadly ended his life at the age of just 5. I think if Gypsy's mom was still alive, Gypsy might not have been.

    • @GoodWivesNet
      @GoodWivesNet 3 роки тому +2

      That case is so tragic. I get so mad when they say that Gypsy suffered the worst child abuse ever seen. First, no way worse cases out there but then I think of little Garnett paying with his life and that to me is the worst form. J/S

I laugh at your oral sound affects, your personal responses to the story, & your comments about your make-up. I don't know how I missed seeing you before and completely happy I did & that you seem to be so honest & genuine in your posts! Wishing you & your family always!
