- In this video I'm testing out sports mode on firmware 1.2.1. Sports mode is such good fun but does it suffer from huge battery drain. I will be flying the drone from full - empty to see how long this lasts and how well it performs.

It is a beast, that's why it came with a straight jacket NOT a propeller guard.

A speed hack can be done on the spark, which is faster than this, I had the spark, was amazing

@@DMProductions I’m sure I will Daz..I run some big powerful 1/5 scale petrol rc cars as I know about engineering but technology not so much but always fancied a drone ..I’m just terrified I fly it and it buggers off 😳😳
To be fair, if it fell out of the sky from a decent height it doesn't really matter if it's over water or not
Time of flight is one thing, but how does distance traveled compare in Sports Mode vs. Normal? I think that would be a more complete answer...
I would have been curious if you would have put another battery in and did the same type of flying in Normal mode to see how much difference in flight time would have been between sport and normal.

The reason why i sold my mavic mini was due to the choppy footage , it seems like the mini 2 suffers from the same choppy footage . I really liked the mavic mini and want to buy the mini 2 but after seeing this footage I will have to think about it some more .

Just a full turn round fast
Seems to be a firmware issue or fault on mine restricting speed after I turn the drone off or change the battery.
Even though the controller is set on S mode it won't go above 36kmh after turning the drone off or changing the battery even though the controller is still on during the process.
Flicking the switch on the controller to N mode then back to S rectifies the slow speed every time resulting in a speed of around 57kmh.
Will be contacting DJI regarding this issue.

I see your phone's compass is still 90 degrees in error...(when the Home Point wasn't hiding it)....lol... Calibrate the compass out of the controller using Google Maps...it works on mine perfect, although I'm still using the Android 1.2.1.

I've only flow in the cold so far so I don't know, but in sports mode I get about 15 minutes of flight

Oh they fixed the top speed when the gimbal is down i see
i wanna know what would be OPTIMAL speed for traveling most horizontal distance??? obviously in sport mode it goes faster but it drains battery even more faster or does it???

Did you have any of the gymbal drop going forward or the skew when panning sideways in sport?
Yes when you start sports mode you get a change in the gimbal angle this is due to the pitch
Have the firmware problems been sorted now by dji

So when you check your flight logs do your maps display T mode and P mode instead of Cine Mode and Normal mode just wondering as I fly IOS and this is what I get even though the main flight screen shows Cine, and Normal?

Can the camera gimbal be locked so that it will show the angle of roll in turns? Meaning FPV style of flying like sitting in the plane.
Yes, this is an option in the camera settings.

I just posted on the dji forum about sport mode speed with the mini 2. Iam getting nowhere near that speed. Best I’ve got is nearly 28mph. Not noticed really any difference between the normal and sport mode. Maybe 2 mph difference. My spark was much quicker in sport mode
Depending on the wind conditions you should get over 30mph easily unless your flying into the wind
Yeah that’s what I thought. When it hit nearly 28mph that was with the wind behind it. If I fly into the wind it’s only about 25mph. with normal mode around 22mph.
It seems to go in a slower speed if you're flying near the ground (below 10 ft) unless you cover up the landing sensor with black tape (not recommended for other reasons).
@@PaulOostindie tryed it at various heights. Someone has suggested adjusting angle of the gimbal so it’s looking down. It sorted there speed problems. It’s not something Iam that bothered about as I fly in normal mode most of the time. It’s just for if I ever get caught in the wind and need more power. Hopefully try it out today and there’s no wind so perfect for it.
But i today i fly over a Lake what Look like a mirror and what can i say the Sensors dont work so you can fly fast as the mini 2 can fly but only over water ..
