    This vid is bringing up feelings for me. My son, Michael, was murdered on November 15, 2019. Because some neighbor was playing loud music. My son asked them to turn down the music, they had words & was suckered punched. While defending himself with nothing but his hands, a 22 yr old stabbed my baby in his heart. Over some fucking music! My heart will never recover from that.😢 I hope the young guys listen to your wise words! Yes, the guy is in prison for a measly 15 years. My son was only 29 years old.

      @@oahts5906 Only use the term bc toxic masculinity is a real and demonstrable thing. Maybe it's bc of my behavioural therapy background, but I believe in rewarding good behaviour until it becomes the norm. Right now the norm, at least publicly and in the media, is death and destruction and people being awful. To me, calling out the good stuff and labeling it as good feels li8ke a way of saying "hey all, this is how it's done, and the results are good. You should try it." I mean fuck I grew up in 90s being told what I can and can't do as a boy being told I had to be gay or a girl to do many things. Like I wanted to learn to repair my own pants I was told "no son of mine will be gay, that is woman's job! Only reason I even let you learn to cook is because I think your ass might take a while before you find a woman to cook for you." That is toxic masculinity lol. Same deal cousin quit football to play mens tennis the shit he got from the family was insane. Like I grew up where "that is gay" was common place and you got shit on for not being a stereotype.
      I mean god damn I had a teacher once take me aside and really think I was gay because I was in drama as a STAGE HAND no less, but also took a cooking class, and I also quit football the same year my cousin did to join the theater department sigh. I am 39 just now taking my first sewing class and I love it, I love crafting things I got 3 3dp printers, a cnc and now an embroider/sewing machine. To me, it appears that they had an ongoing feud. Murderer was standing there, armed, blasting music or whatever, while facing their door. It appears that he was instagating a confrontation. The son wasn't lunging at him, it honestly looked like he was just trying to get out of the way. Really f'd up. I am glad the murderer will never be on the streets again. I was an armed security officer due to the fact that part of my roll was picking up cash from a number of businesses. In the 6 years I only had to draw my firearm once and that was enough. I never thought of myself as 6ft tall and bullet proof. The very last thing that I wanted to do was drawer my firearm because, once its out, its only going to finish in two ways.

I know people with multiple guns who conceal and open carry who never ever drawn on any one and one I do know who has it was a family member by mistake no less. I mean I get with the scissors drawing might be justified ,but he shot him as his back was turned then shot the kid running down the hall away from him, then excuted the dad trying to reach his apartment while shot, that was just brutal as hell when he drew they were going back to their room probally to call the cops and he just unloaded on them.

There was ongoing complaints because the victims had hardwood floors and walls in these buildings are pretty thin and so are the floors, so he could hear them walking. I think he also may have had dog ears and acute insensitivity to frustration. He did fire fatal shots into both dying victims when they were already on the ground. The first guy he shoots is turned away from him and appears to be walking away when his wife tries to descalate the situation. He then walks up to the son, whom he shot before, and gives the kill shot at point blank range. Textbook premeditation.
      Whether he had the gun on him all the time or only for this incident, that is irrelevant to the fact that he brought it to that floor for the purpose of using it. Perhaps knowing he had already thrown his life away having committed double murder, he gets himself killed by NYPD.

      I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. What a lot of people are missing by saying "it's just noise" if they've never experienced it is that people can absolutely psychologically torture you with noise. I had a mentally unstable neighbor have a breakdown over 6 months and bang on a shared wall and my front door at all hours of the day and night as well as blasting loud death metal music in the middle of the night. He hit our shared wall so hard several times that it caused items to fall off of our wall, it was truly psycho. The landlord and police talked to him but it didn't help, we created a paper trail but ultimately decided to break our lease early because we had an option of a better neighborhood to move to and were tired of living next to someone who was clearly deeply unwell and unstable. All I'll say is, having lived in multiple apartments, there are tenants whose noise is NOT just a one time thing. It happens day in and day out. A constant yapping dog, blasting music, yelling/arguing, banging around.. something. Something that happens again, and again, and again, and again. And again. And again. Is it getting annoying to see the word "again" again? I'm done saying that... or am I? Again, and again, and again. Again. Again. Again.
    Surely it has to be annoying dealing with that. Now imagine that same annoying repetitiveness tomorrow. And the next day. And now you hear it right before bed. And right when you wake up. Even if you try and play your own music or turn on the TV you hear it. Over and over and over still. Again and again and again still. You've called your landlord, they can't do anything. You call the cops, they can't do anything.
    Eventually, you're gonna start to lose it. I've never gotten violent on someone else in my apartments, or on anyone at all. But one must be able to see how it's possible to lose your mind just enough that there can be that last straw, because your brain is just wrecked and made insane by the constant annoyances that you can't escape in your own home.
    This could have been an issue spanning a day. Or days. Or weeks. Or very likely months. Affecting them in their own home. Night after night after night after night after night after night, again and again and again and again. And then... someone snaps.
    I'm just trying to illustrate that this may not have been over "nothing." It could be over something that has been ruining the shooters sanity for a long, long time.
    You say if it's bad than move, drink scotch or take a walk.
    1) Moving right away isn't feasible for many people. Other places may be out of their price range, too far away from where they work, maybe not on a public transportation route. Breaking a lease early can be too expensive with the loss of security deposit and early cancellation fees. It costs money to hire a mover. Maybe they are currently near a relative that they need to help and there's nowhere else close by.
    2) Drinking scotch isn't much of an answer. You don't want someone who's annoyed with a gun to DRINK. Scotch is also expensive, maybe they aren't a drinker maybe they are in AA. Maybe they can't drink because they have work soon.
    3) Taking a walk may not work because it could be a very dangerous area either because of criminals or there are not good walking options - some areas don't have sidewalks or parks. Maybe it's far too cold or far too hot out to walk. Maybe they just came from work and are far too exhausted to walk. They may have been on their feet all day. And really... doing a walk every time your neighbor is noisy? The noise can last for hours - they're supposed to walk for hours every single day in the freezing cold, late at night, in dangerous conditions... with only HOPE that when they return the neighbors will stop?

    I had very abusive upstairs neighbors that subjected me to at times 13, 14 hours straight of pounding on my ceilings through teenage heel stomping, multiple kids running and jumping so that things fell out of my cabinets. At times my fans and light fixtures moved as if I was in an earthquake zone. And when I would try to speak to the lady she would deny it or else she would rile up and say that I was complaining too much! I complained to everyone that I needed to and no one could help according to laws. When I called the police they stated they could do nothing but just talk to them. After the police left at 1 point I had those kids upstairs marching back and forth for about 8 hours straight as if deliberate.... Apparently downstairs neighbors have no rights!! The situation was so bad that my health was compromised and for some reason all the stress etcetera exacerbated into lupus where my face blew up and looked as if nuclear radiated....... I actually prayed that they would die... So although one does not want to engage in violence when you are subjected to this overt and blatantly deliberate abuse for long length of time, I could understand how a violent act could occur....Maybe you can help me sue for damages...

There was one older man that always frowned and scared me little ( im very shy back then i barely talked to anyone) i loved everyone even if i didn't trust many people. Still love everyone and dont trust many. Well when i gave the guy a valentine card i swear the room got so bright from his smile. I always heard a smile can brighten up your day. I’m absolutely not suggesting that violence is ever the answer in situations like this, but if you’ve ever been the victim of noisy neighbours, it can massively affect your quality of life. If your sleep is continually being disrupted, it’s even more detrimental and debilitating.
    It’s not always a matter of "it’s just a little noise"; if you can’t sleep, can’t work (if you wfh), can’t hear your own TV because the disruptive sound levels created by the neighbour are just so excessive, and you can’t even hear yourself think, then *yes,* I can see how people become unhinged. Especially if they’ve tried every possible peaceful avenue to try and get things resolved amicably, and they’ve all been met with indifference or anger.
    I’ve no idea how bad the noise was from this neighbour, how rude or dismissive they were, or for how long this dispute had been going, but to blanket minimise just how life ruining noisy neighbours _can_ be is kinda insulting to everyone who’s been a victim of it, and have received little to no help from the authorities when they’ve tried to get some assistance to *please god, just make it stop!* There’s a reason why cruel regimes use noise (and the resultant sleep deprivation) to mentally break political prisoners: because, unfortunately, it’s incredibly effective.

    The tueller rule which is what you reference is based on how long Tueller, who was a training officer in Utah or something like that, thought it took his guys to draw, aim and effectively fire on target, he thought at minimum it was 1.5 seconds and that's how long you can travel in 21 feet and strike. 21 feet is surprisingly far which is the whole point of the rule, you aren't safe just because the other guy is a few paces away.
    Edit: And these are trained officers drawing and firing, if you don't have a gun or aren't trained you just need to know that somebody can cover that distance incredibly quickly and catch you off guard.

    I live in a really small village in central Sweden, which is seriously only about 1.16 square miles (not the whole municipality, but the actual village) and only has a couple thousand people, and that definitely creates a super-chill and wholesome community.
    It is as different from the troublesome areas in New York as you can possibly imagine, and I do believe that those kinds of communities are generally better for people's overall health than really big and densely populated cities;
    partly because it is simply a more relaxing environment, and partly because people have a more personal connection to each other, so that they actually recognise each other to some degree.
    I seriously always see someone that I either know or at least recognise every single time I go shopping, and that is pretty cool, TBQH.

    I am currently living in an apartment complex where I used to be surrounded by obnoxious neighbors that didn't respect apartment quiet hours. I tried talking to one of them 3 times and luckily that miraculously made one of them stop after threatening to call the cops on them and I still have one of them right wall to wall to my bedroom that would have their 10~ year old kid run around the house barefoot and yelling at very improper hours. The parents didn't give a shit when I told them. I can't afford to move and I have problems falling asleep so when it sometimes happens and there is too much noise to sleep at night and it continues in the evening when I try to nap and I'm so tired that I can't function I get very irrationally angry and have to stop myself from escalating. Thank God I don't live in the US where ppl get such easy access to guns because I'm sure there's ppl in my same circumstances that have less self control than I do and we'd definitely have ppl getting hurt. Fucking with someone that is sleep deprived and is not allowed to rest is some of the worst things u can do imo. It's very easy to snap and not give a shit when u can't even function properly. The dude with the gun probably completely lost it after the son was being loud, the parents did nothing and the dad got in his face. Horrible outcome. All it took to prevent it from all parties involved was a little kindness and respect for others.

      So, "they have their kid running around barefoot" - like they're telling him to do it.🙄 & they aren't allowed to make noise at night, or in the evening, because you could be trying to take a nap. Really?!? They're in their own home, not in yours, ya know. Maybe invest in some $2 ear plugs or a white noise/sound machine. I mean, some things you just have to deal with when you live in an apartment complex vs. your own home. Thin walls is just one of them.

    • @FreQis
      @FreQis 10 місяців тому +1

      @@LK-lz6lk When the kid makes noise has nothing to do with me if I'm sleeping or anything since there are rules in place. He's gotta respect the quiet apartment rules from 22:00 to 07:00 and 14:00 to 16:00 for where I live. The mother also walks around barefoot so clearly he's learned it somewhere. They are also not the only variable since there are multiple neighbors that do what they want when they want and unfortunately it sometimes lines up in the same 24 hours at different times. Yes some things you have to deal with when living in an apartment complex unlike when living in a house, like a lower standard of privacy, less space and some noise from time to time as well. What I'm talking about if it wasn't obvious is a disregard for the rules on the regular from multiple ppl.

      I completely agree. Many people get off from torturing somebody. They try to destroy your live, to deprive you from sleep and break your social connections by making you angry all the time. Basicly your neighbours say to you "f*** you, you cannot do anything about us.".
      My neighbors were unemployed and hammered periodicly every 30 minutes at night against the walls, jumping an the floor etc. The floor was shaking, no earplugs on the world could let me sleep peacefully. I was studying back then and almost failed my exams, lost my friends and family connections because of that bullshit. Rivers cannot judge accurately about the survailence footage, when not beeing in such a situation for years. Self defense is the only thing that can stop such atrocities from happening. You have to physically or financially hurt such neighbors to stop them from infringing upon your rights and to get them out of their sick mentality.
